Meaning, Nature and scope of Ethics


1. In order to maintain perfect balance between work and life, it is important to unlock
the door of ethics, where-by an individual will get the right direction to fly high in the
sky of personal happiness and professional success.

2. The balance between happiness and success will be attained through the
understanding of meaning, nature and scope of ethics.

Meaning of Ethics: etymologically speaking, The word Ethics was derived by a


Greek word “Ethos”, which means character or conduct. Ethics is a significant
branch of Philosophy Which will give a set of guidelines to guide life. These
guidelines will guide the individual to understand fundamental difference
between: “What is right?” and “What is wrong”. The journey of Ethics will follow
a process in order to analyze to concept of Good and bad.

Ethics refer to guide, what Human should do in terms of virtue, obligations,


fairness, obedience & specific Good. It is important to understand the strategy
to implement guidelines of Ethics in personal as well as professional life. The
theoretical discussion of Ethical standpoint will serve as a foundation to
implement the essential protocols of Ethics.

Ethics is different from natural and factual science because it is a normative
science. Every science is concerned with a particular department of knowledge
and same is the case with Ethics because it deals with the department of moral
values like: Honesty, integrity, Loyalty.

Scope Of Ethics: It is not restricted to a particular age because, Ethics is not of


one age, but of All ages. In other words ages will come and ages will go. but
Ethics will go on forever.

Normally, Every science or subject will have a fixed area of study or a fixed
boundary
But Ethics does not have a restricted boundary and therefore it is very wide
covering Past, Present, Future. Therefore ethics is an important character of
Human personality.

The role of individual in society is a very important perspective, which should be


seen Through the eyes of ethics. The society will dictate Dos and Donts for an
individual and the individual may or may not adhere to society.
In order to maintain the balance between, the expectation of society and the
obedience of individual, it is important to consult the guidelines of ethics. Ethics
can help to frame the code of conduct by balancing the reciprocal expectations
of individual as well as society.
The management of personal ethics and prof ethics is a very important part.
because it is a step towards quality life. since ages, it has been observed that
human beings have been putting all efforts to make life better and qualitative. In
order to make life qualitative, it is essential to convert challenges into
opportunities. The biggest challenge is to manage between personal ethics and
prof ethics.

It is generally considered as basic principles and values that govern


interaction among individuals. it can also be used to describe a particular
person’s habit and behaviour.
Personal ethics is a category of philosophy, that determines what an
individual understands about morality, which focuses on the understanding
related to the difference between Right and Wrong.

List of moral practices related to personal ethics are mentioned below:

3. Never share the secrets of others

4. Never blow your own trumpet, let others blow trumpet for you

5. Never enter or exit without permission.

Professional Ethics: it is beyond personal and which includes organizational


as well as corporate principles also. It is important to follow the following ethical
practices:

Maintain the proper balance between work and wages.

Do not enter into business or social relationships with wicked people.

follow the code of conducts related to behaviour, social dealing, protocols of


system(SOp)

Teach or share your knowledge, as in when required
