What is Zoom?

Zoom provides the first Unified Meeting Experience platform that brings HD video conferencing,
mobility and web meetings together as a free cloud service. So you can have crystal-clear video
conversation and high quality screen sharing, anytime, from anywhere. It is available for
Windows, Mac, iOS, Android and works with PSTN and H.323/SIP room systems.

How do I begin?

To begin, simply go to http://zoom.us and click on Sign up. From there you can enter your first
and last name, and your student e-mail provided by IUM.

You can click on the download footer link at https://zoom.us/support/download

Where do I find the desktop or mobile app?

• For iOS, visit the Apple App Store or by searching “Zoom."


• For Android, visit Google Play or by searching "Zoom HD meetings."

1 How to Sign in

• Double Click the desktop Application “Zoom” to open the application.

• Click “Sign In”

• Click “Sign in with Google”.

2. Sign in with the student email provided by IUM. Click “Next” and type the password Click
“Next".

3. When the student is Sign in using IUM credentials. Click “Create Account”.

• When the account is created the below screen will appear which shows the installation
of Zoom software completed.

4. Go to IUM Moodle page. moodle.ium.edu.mv

IUM Students have to login using their IUM email and password.

Simply click the Signing option “Google”

When you click “Google” you will be asked to select an account. If you have already signed

in to your IUM email you will be able to see the account. If it's not in the list, select “Use

Another Account” when prompted enter your IUM email and password.

Homepage (Dashboard) When you sign in you will see your home page. You will see all your
Courses (Modules). All the ongoing modules (registered modules in the ongoing semester) will
be viewed in the In Progress filter.

If you want to view the content of the module, simply click the module you want.

5.When the Lecturer share the Zoom Video link student will be able to view from the module.

• Click the “Zoom Video link” and the student will be able to join to the meeting.

The student can select to join the Zoom meeting with video and without video. Click “Join with
Video”

When the lecture shares Word document, Power point or the screen the student will be able to
view.

• If the Student want to ask a question or chat with the lecturer. Click “Chat” and a
window will open from right side. In addition, student will be able to save the chat in
any time during the Online class.
