IMPENDING GENOCIDE IN NIGERIA:

TO ALTER AND FALSIFY THE 2023 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION IN NIGERIA WILL

LEAD TO MASSIVE RESISTANCE AND BLOODSHED

Dear Mr. High Commissioner; Your Excellency Volker Turk,

1. We appreciate the support and solidarity you have continued to show the people
of Nigeria either through their government agencies and the Civil Society
Organizations.

2. The Labour Party of Nigeria (LP) with His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi as its
Presidential candidate participated in an election which took place on 25
February 2023. This election was marred by graphic violence and extreme
military brutality orchestrated by President Muhammadu Buhari “Buhari” and his
military; Mr Bola Ahmed Tinubu “Tinubu” a member and the Presidential
candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress “APC”, same party as Buhari.
As we had anticipated, the Nigerian people overwhelmingly embraced the
goodwill messages of Peter Obi, voted for him and the majority of the candidates
that contested on the platform of the Labour Party; and by so doing, they in turn
rejected the dictatorship of Buhari, Tinubu and the APC.

3. Nevertheless, Mr. Buhari and the Independent Electoral Commission “INEC” his
personalized institution have since the election day seized the results and are
busy altering and manipulating the figures to favour Tinubu their fellow party
member. They have ignored the voice and choice of the Nigerian electorate and
are scheming to declare Tinubu as the winner.

4. Kindly note that this illegality shall be rejected and vehemently opposed by the
Labour Party and Nigerians in general. We will not concede defeat come what
may because the said results are fraudulently generated and unsubstantiated.

5. It should be noted that throughout the campaign period, Mr. Buhari as

commander in chief of the military, in concert with Tinubu deployed the said
military and thugs to brutalize the LP campaign team, the LP supporters
commonly known as the “ObIdients”, illegally detained them, assaulted,
maimed, brutalized and killed some of them. Mr. Buhari further blocked LP from
accessing national radio and national television stations, thereby denying LP
access to the electorate. Mr. Buhari went further to put military blockade on
roads, denying LP members access to all highways and blocking LP campaign
teams from campaigning, these were in violation of the basic principles of free
and fair elections. Despite LP’s continued efforts to engage the Electoral
Commission to address violations and attacks on the democratic process, the
Electoral Commission, under Mr. Mahmood Yakubu, continued to be partisan,
aiding and encouraging the conduct of Buhari, Tinubu and the APC.
Nevertheless, the endless violations of democratic principles did not stop the
people of Nigeria from voting in overwhelming numbers to get rid of the
unpopular Buhari regime.

Herewith the video of several battalion of soldiers and Armoured Tanks Buhari
had deployed on the streets a few days leading up to the election weekend. We
had thought that the soldiers were deployed to ensure the safety and security of
lives and properties, but we had thought wrong. Little did we know they were
planning another civilian massacre similar to the #EndSars protest massacre
in October 2020, should we exercise our rights to protest the rigging of the
elections results.

6. The election day however, was not free of military violence or political
prosecutions. Many LP coordinators and election observers were arrested on
election day, and others have been detained, tortured and some killed by the
military and political thugs of Tinubu and the APC. This incident happened in
most part of the country. They have confiscated Declared Election Results
Forms, and are busy manipulating the outcomes. Herewith photo link of Ms
Elizabeth Osadebamwen a pretty young lady who was killed by APC thugs
in Benin city, Edo State, Nigeria; the thugs had come to her polling units to
disrupt the elections and in the process shot and killed her.

7. Kindly note that Buhari, Tinubu and INEC are trying to cause Nigeria to implode;
they are stirring undue anxiety in the country, a country already volatile and its
continuing existence as a state is at a precipice.

8. They must be admonished, stopped in their tracks and instructed to allay

anxiety, restore confidence in the electoral process and confer credibility to the
results by being transparent in their handling of the results and its counting
process. The government practically shutdown the network and the result
uploading systems, in that polling officers and political parties’ agents were not
able to upload the results to a public portal in real time as they come. The
majority of the polling officers were provided with the wrong password to the
electronic systems and could not access the portal in order to upload the results.

9. There was a deliberate late opening of polling units, logistical failures created
tensions and the secrecy of the ballot was compromised in most of the polling
units especially in the stronghold of the opposition parties. There were man-
made challenges with the electronic transfer of results and their upload to a
public portal in a timely manner, thus undermining citizens confidence
throughout the process. There was lack of communication by INEC and
deliberate absence of transparency by INEC about their causes and extent,
which then eroded voters’ trust in the electoral process. The combination of
these inadequacies were systematic plans by the government to frustrate and
disenfranchise the voters.

10. In most instance, the result credibility is inversely proportional to the time it
takes for the results to be published. The longer it takes, the less acceptable the

results will be. Why is INEC exposing the nation to such ridicule and anxiety.
The general mood in the country is fragile, volatile and predictable; so much so
that the repeat of #EndSars protest across the country is imminent and
inevitable should there not be immediate intervention mechanism to avoid
voters’ disenfranchisement by Buhari, Tinubu, APC and INEC.

11. We believe that the INEC Chairperson Mahmood Yahaya has been bribed by
Tinubu. We say so because in November 2022 when it was alleged by a
Whistle-blower that the INEC boss already had plans to rig the elections by not
uploading polling units level results in real time. He came to a press conference
to deny the allegation, but the allegation turned out to be true after all. Herewith

12. The European Union observers have come out to condemn the entire process,
the intimidation of opposition party members, and they recommended

ATTACKS ON DEMOCRACY AND VIOLATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS

14. What follows hereunder are digitized evidence of some of the barbaric attacks
on our democracy that we are able to collated for ease of reference.

15. A few days before the election day, Tinubu while addressing his supporters
during a town hall meeting ordered his party members and his thugs to grab,
snatch and run away with ballot boxes during elections; the plan is to denied
Peter Obi and other Labour Party candidates their popular mandate. Herewith

16. Subsequent to Tinubu’s address, and on the 25 February 2023 being the
election day, Tinubu’s thugs, his supporters and law enforcement personnel
acting upon his orders and in compliance thereof took to the streets and caused
mayhem in and around the country. Some of these barbaric incidents are as
documented hereunder:

(a) MC OLUOMO, the Chief thug of Tinubu disrupting election process and
threatening mayhem against Labour Party supporters, law enforcement
personnel were present but they did not arrest him or caution him because
they are complicit:

17. We will reject Mr. Tinubu’s claim of victory should he be so declared by INEC,
because the manner in which the elections were conducted lacked the basic
transparency that is necessary for the international best standards and requisite
for a just, free and fair election.

18. We humbly ask that Your Excellency, the High Commissioner, and all our
partners should demand accountability and outrightly instruct member countries’
election observers in Nigeria, and other international observers to reject the
manipulated results should the culprits not come clean.

19. We have good reason to believe that the violence perpetrated by Buhari
administration and the APC against the Nigerian people will continue in the
coming days leading to Gubernational and State Parliamentary elections on 11
March 2023. Therefore, we reach out to you, all our partners and friends, with a
well-founded belief that you uphold and extol the principles of democracy,
respect for human rights and most of all, that you maintain the relative peace in
the Sub-Sahara Region of Africa where many of you have vested interests.

20. One could only imagine the explosive humanitarian catastrophe should Nigeria
implode given its large population; to contain the number of refugees alone
would be a mammoth task, not to talk of providing their basic needs and
corresponding basic amenities.

21. We appeal to your great sense of judgment, with the conviction that you have
the ability to shape history, and that this time you will act quickly to avoid
possible genocide in recent human history. The stakes in Nigeria are high for
Nigerians, as well as for all partners and friends of Nigeria.

OUR DEMANDS

22. We therefore call upon you to:

• condemn the atrocities;
• call for the immediate release of the correct election results;
• We request all partners of Nigeria to cease any dealings with the Buhari
administration, to suspend any and all military arrangements/assistance and
foreign aid to Nigeria until matters arising out of the elections are resolved.
• We also encourage further and/or alternative assistance you can avail us.
