SEN3304 HUMAN COMPUTER INTERACTION

PROJECT

This assignment covers all chapters of SEN3304 class that together take you through the
complete development lifecycle for an interactive product. This assignment requires you to
use techniques described in class including problem definition, identifying and establishing
requirements, prototyping, testing, etc.

The overall assignment is for you to design and evaluate an interactive product for any specific
purpose. You are free to make innovative and creative assumptions in this project. The topic
is totally up to you. You are always welcome to discuss with me before initiating it.

Deadline for submission is on the final exam date. Follow the instructions below and Prepare
a presentation file. Submit your work via itslearning when the submission link is available.

a. Set up project teams (6 – 10 students)


b. Select your topic and clearly define your problem.
c. Write down the objectives and sub-objectives.
d. Identify user needs for the interactive product. You could do this in a number of ways.
For example, you could observe people in the context, think about your own
experiences, examine existing products, interview friends and family, and so on.
Record your data carefully.
e. Based on your requirements, choose at least two different user profiles and produce
personae and one main scenario for each, capturing how the user is expected to
interact with the system.
f. Perform a task analysis on the main task associated with the system.
g. Generate low-fidelity prototypes and collect feedback from the target users.
h. Using a software-based prototyping tool or web authoring tool, develop a software-
based prototype that incorporates all the feedback you have had so far.
i. Detail your prototype and explain briefly the techniques you used in prototyping
process.
j. Present an evaluation scenario/procedure in details. Explain the techniques that you
are planning to apply in order to evaluate your interactive product. Try using multiple
methods. It is optional to perform evaluation but mandatory to present the
procedure.

You are allowed to make additional assumptions and extend your work. If you have any
