Mechanis m of action
Mefenamic acid binds the prostagland in synthetase receptors COX-1 and COX-2, inhibiting the action of prostagland in synthetase. As these receptors have a role as a major mediator of inflammatio n and/or a role for prostanoid signaling in activitydependent plasticity, the symptoms of pain are temporarily reduced.

Indications
For the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis , dysmenorrhe a, and mild to moderate pain, inflammation , and fever. Relief of moderate pain when therapy will not exceed 1week. -Treatment of primary dysmenorrhea
