ASF ESSAY Accomp Report
Dannidyn C. Nuñez, a first-year Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) student, got the
first place in Filipino Essay Writing, as announced last November 18 during the awarding ceremony for
the Alay sa First Year 2022.
With a theme of "Liham ng Kinabukasan," Nuñez gave emphasis to the idea of the content of what she
wrote on the letter itself.
"Isa po sa mga nilalaman ng isinulat ko ay 'yung kasabihan mula kay Jose Rizal na ang kabataan ang pag-
asa ng bayan," gasgas man ito, "Ngunit kinikilala ko bilang tinta ng aking panulat para sa inakda ko na
liham na tumutukoy sa kurso na pinili ko." For her, the postman was the teacher who led them onto the
right path for the future.
She also paid attention to people's misconceptions about her course, which many say is easy to take.
"I don't want my letter to be just a piece of it; instead, I'll seal it with a diploma," she concluded.
Other first-year students from the campus also participated in the event. Emil Cuadero from BS ENTRE
1-A represented the campus in the singing competition; Justine Orquiza from BSIT 1-E joined the vlog
competition; Nathaniel Tolentino from BSIT 1-A showed his skills in the digital art competition; Mario
Gonzales Jr., from BSIT 1-A, Jana Gandha Giray from BSIT 1-D, and Richmond Miranda from BSIT 1-E
stood for their voices in debate; Vince Andrei Bernabe and Princess Ericka Arriola from BSE 1-D also
participated in the essay writing competition; while Nash Christian Arojado, Ronnalyn Bantulay, Ma.
Victoria Donato, Jecilyn Sipasip, John Janeil Yabut from BSE 1-A, and Juvelle Maglaque from BSE 1-B
were the participants in the dance competition.
The annual event "Alay sa First Year," upholding the theme "Sulong-Arangkada: Balik-Bagong Normal
sa Eskwela; Kaalaman at Kakayahan, Muling Bibigyang-buhay" welcomed everyone, particularly the first
year of NEUST, which introduced to them the culture of the university.
