Jess has lived in Plymouth for 26 years and has always enjoyed exercise and has tried and tested lots of different local
classes along the way. Dane is new to Plymouth and is and this guide includes the ones we would recommend. You
can use this guide to give you information on everything we have locally that can help you on your wellness journey.
THINGS TO DO IN NATURE
We are extremely lucky in Plymouth to be surrounded by nature which gives us lots of inexpensive and free activities
to do things that are great for improving your physical and mental wellbeing.
Whether it be visiting some of the local parks like central park or the Moors for a walk or jog, or, taking a cold dip on
the hoe or one of the nearby beaches (our favourite is….).
Aside of the beautiful nature we have on our doorstep we are fortunate enough to have a thriving health fitness
community across Plymouth too.
It’s great to see some healthy food and supplement stores on the Plymouth scene now too. Moving your body is
extremely important but so is what you put into your body, so having shops and restaurants like the ones we will list
for you below will help you on your health journey too. We love trying out healthy food spots and now we are back in
Plymouth we will be enjoying visiting some of these below too:
There are gyms that suit everyone whether you like fitness classes which are high impact such as spin or grit or
slower, more centring and functional exercises such as yoga or Pilates. Check this out below:
Our main goal is to create a healthy community in Plymouth so we love to see that there is a team of people at
Wellbeing Plymouth who have the same vision. They arrange regular meet-ups ranging from sea swims on the hoe
(our favourite!), to comedy nights. Making connections with people and being social is so important for your health
and we hope to see the health and well-being community continue to grow and we are excited to be part of it!
