A residence permit in Armenia gives you the right to enter the country without a visa and stay for an
unlimited time. It also gives you the right to engage in any lawful activity, such as business, work, study, or

Residents enjoy constitutional rights and freedoms, including the right to work, healthcare, social security,
education, property rights, and the inviolability of private life, as well as freedom of speech, conscience,
religion, and belief. Armenian residents are not subject to compulsory military service.

To apply for a residence permit based on entrepreneurial activities in Armenia, you need to go to the
Passport and Visa Department of the Republic of Armenia.
However, you should not go there immediately after registering as an individual entrepreneur. There should
be evidence of your company's activities, such as monetary and commodity turnover, taxes, and other
evidence. If you opened your business just yesterday, there will be no such evidence, and you will likely
face a refusal, and re-application is possible only after a year. To avoid mistakes, our team offers:

Do I have the right to apply for a residence permit just by opening an individual entrepreneur (IP)?
What is the procedure for obtaining a residence permit, where should I go, and can I go on the same day
after registering as an IP?
To obtain a one-year residence permit, you need to apply to the visa and passport department at the
Armenian police.
Required documents:
1. Application
2. 3 color photographs 35x45 mm
3. Passport, passport copy, notarized translation of the passport
4. Documents justifying the need for a residence permit (employment contract, extract from the state register
confirming the existence of an IP or legal entity in Armenia, residence permit or citizenship of a
spouse/parent/child, certificate from the university on education, etc.)

6. Receipt for payment of state duty (105,000 drams, can be paid right there at the terminal)
It is not recommended to submit documents for a residence permit on the same day as registering as an IP.
You may face refusal, and reapplication in case of refusal is possible only after a year.
How long does it take to obtain a residence permit - normally and now?
A residence permit is issued within a 30-day period. To renew a residence permit, you should also apply 30
days before the expiration of the previous one.
Can I apply for a residence permit for my spouse and child immediately after registering as an IP?
We recommend applying for a residence permit (RVP) 2 months after opening an individual entrepreneur
(IE) status. After you receive the RVP, your spouse and child can apply for it through the "family
reunification" basis
It's possible, however, it's advisable to contact the visa and passport department beforehand. But it's better to
entrust this to professionals. They know the procedures, what needs to be done, and why.
Do I need an employment contract for a residence permit? Can an LLC or IP pay the mandatory salary in
cash, not from an account?
It is better to talk to an accountant. In this case, you will have to submit documents to the tax office each
