Findingthe Areaofa Triangle

Okay class, let's have our station activity. Each group will go to different stations. In your envelope are tasks that you need to accomplish in every station. You only have 10 minutes. Are you ready? On your mark, get set, go! (Pupils will go to different stations assigned. They will accomplish the tasks in the envelope within 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, signal them to go back inside the classroom.) Okay class, time's up! Please proceed back inside the classroom. Let's check your work. Who wants to share their work from the first station? Yes, Luffy you may share. Luffy: In our

1. Prayer
Good morning class! Everybody standup for our (pupils will stand up properly)
opening prayer. Luffy, kindly lead the prayer.
Luffy: Classmates, let us all bow down our
heads and close our eyes.

Father God, Come with us today. Fill our hearts

with joy. Fill our minds with learning. Fill our
classrooms with peace. Fill our lessons with fun.
Fill our friendships with kindness. Fill our
school with love. Amen.

Pupils: Good morning, Teacher!

Good morning class! Kindly keep all the garbage

under your chairs and put it in our trashcan.. Pupils: We all fine, Teacher!

3. Checking of Attendance (Nami will check the attendance)
Nami as our class beadle, will you please check our Nami: No one is absent for today, Teacher!
attendance for today.

Who is absent today Nami? (Students simultaneously answering “yes teacher

Very good! All of you are present here today. Keep it because….”)
up class.
Pupils: Aye! Aye! teacher!
4. Setting of Agreement

Class before we start let's have a setting of agreement.

When I call your name, you should read the following
agreement. Understand?
Ace: “Raise your hand if you want to answer”
Ace read the posted text aloud.
Sabo: “Listen Carefully”

Next, Sabo read the posted text Buggy: “Participate in all activities ”

Last, Buggy read the following agreement aloud Pupils: (Students read at the same time.)

Pupils: yes teacher!

Okay class read simultaneously our agreement.

5. Review
Before we proceed to our new lesson,
let’s have a review first. Who can still
remember our past lesson?
Yes, Natsu.

Very good! Natsu

What is the formula to find the area of parallelogram?

Yes, Loki

B. Motivation

Class I have here some flashcards. I want you to tell

me what you can see in the flashcards.

Arlong: teacher it’s a triangle

What is the shape that you can see in this flashcard?

Ok Arlong.

Robin: there are 5 triangles Teacher.

How many triangles are these on the flashcard? Ok,

Asta: there are 10 triangles
Robin.

2
How about in this figure? How many triangles can you
see? Ok, Asta
Pupils: (clapping)

Very good class! Let’s give them an excellent clap

Brook: I think it is all about Finding the Area of
a Triangle
C. Presentation of Topic

Now class reflect on what you’ve seen in the picture (Pupils Clapping)
before. What do you think would be our topic for
today? Yes, Brook!

That’s right, Brook! Our topic for today is all about

Finding the Area of a Triangle
Give Brook a Yahohoho clap.

Pupils: (Listen to a discussion)

D. Discussion

Class open your textbooks in page 205.

Area of Triangle
The area of a triangle is defined as the total space
occupied by the three sides of a triangle in a 2-
dimensional plane. The basic formula for the area of a
triangle is equal to half the product of its base and
height, i.e., A = 1/2 × b × h. This formula is applicable
to all types of triangles, whether it is a scalene triangle,
an isosceles triangle, or an equilateral triangle. It
should be remembered that the base and the height of a
triangle are perpendicular to each other.

What is the Area of a Triangle?

The area of a triangle is the region enclosed within the
sides of the triangle. The area of a triangle varies from
one triangle to another depending on the length of the
sides and the internal angles. The area of a triangle is
expressed in square units, like, m2, cm2, in2, and so
on.

The basic formula that is used to find the area of a

triangle is:

Area of triangle = 1/2 × base × height

3
Observe the following figure to see the base and height
of a triangle.

Let us find the area of a triangle using this formula.

Example: What is the area of a triangle with base 'b' =

2 cm and height 'h' = 4 cm?

Solution: Using the formula: Area of a Triangle, A =

1/2 × b × h = 1/2 × 2 × 4 = 4 cm2

Triangles can be classified based on their angles as

acute, obtuse, or right triangles. They can be scalene,
isosceles, or equilateral triangles when classified based
on their sides. Let us learn about the other ways that
are used to find the area of triangles with different
scenarios and parameters.

Example 1: Find the area of a triangle with a base of

10 inches and a height of 5 inches.

Solution:

Let us find the area using the area of triangle formula: Yami: Area of triangle = (1/2) × b × h

Area of triangle = (1/2) × b × h A = 1/2 × 8 × 7

A = 1/2 × 10 × 5 A = 1/2 × 56

A = 1/2 × 50 A = 28 cm²

Therefore, the area of the triangle (A) = 25 in2

4
Another example who want to solve it on the board.
Yes, Yami
Find the area of a triangle with a base of 8 cm and a
height of 7 cm.

Solution:

Area of triangle = (1/2) × b × h

A = 1/2 × 8 × 7

A = 1/2 × 56

A = 28 cm²

Very Good Yami.

Another example, the given is already have a area with

no height what is the formula do we use.
For example the triangle is have a 12cm base and
84cm² area. What is the height of a triangle? So, the
formula to be use is:
h=2xA/b
h=2x84cm²/12cm
h=168cm²/12cm
h=14cm

How about the given is no base.

For example the triangle have a 12m height and 36m² Sanji: A= (1/2) × b × h
Area. What is the base of a triangle?
b=2xA/h
b=2x36m²/12m
b=72m²/12m
b= 6m
Franky: “h=2xA/b”
So, this is the formula in getting the Area, Base, and
Height in the following;
 A=½(bxh) or bxh/2 Pupils: (1,2,3 Clap2x, Supeer)
 h=2xA/b
 b=2xA/h Law: “b=2xA/h”

“Sanji what is the formula in finding the area of a

triangle?” (Students Clapping)

“Very Good Sanji that’s right”

“What about Franky, what is the formula in finding the

height of a triangle?” Pupils: A= (1/2) × b × h

“That’s right Franky” Give a Super! Clap for Franky

Kaido: by deriving

“Law, what is the formula in finding the base of a

triangle”

“Law your answer is correct, give Law around of

applause”

5
E. Generalization
Again Class, based on our discussion that we had,
what is the formula in finding the area of triangle?

How did we get the formula for finding the area of

triangle?
Okay very good!

Pupils: Yes Teacher.

F. Application (through station game)

Group Activity- station game!
(Take them as a group to have a
station activity outside of the room.
They will go in every station to
accomplish their task.
Before the pupils go outside. Teacher
will give an envelope in every group.
It contains the materials that they can
use in every station.)
Pupils: Yes teacher.
Class count 1 to 5 by grouping after that you may
choose a group leader and get the envelop her. Then,
you will go in every station to accomplish your task.

Station 1- the figure by group is given.

Station 2- they use ruler to measure
the figure that they get.
Station 3- they are going to write their
work in the clean paper and solve it.
Station 4- they make a yell
Station 5- (in the classroom) they will present their
work.
Very good class, Give yourselves a good job
clap!

Lets Begin. Now….
