(Refer to fig. 1 and 2)
EXCELLENT CENTERING ABILITY Due to the cones and the chosen design the Locking Assemblies
RINGFEDER® RfN 7013 center according to their manufacturing
accuracy.
EASY REMOVAL The Locking Assemblies RfN 7013 have releasing threads cor-
responding to the locking screws. Additional measures or au-
xiliary devices are not required.
HIGH FATIGUE STRENGTH UNDER Neither shaft nor hub feature grooves. Thus notch effect is mi-
ALTERNATING TORSIONAL STRESSES nimized according to the system and a high polar section mo-
dulus is at the disposal of the designer.
OVERLOAD PROTECTION EFFECT When the admissible load is exceeded, the Locking Assemblies
will slip. In this way, they safeguard valuable machine compo-
nents against damage. However, the Locking Assemblies are
subject to the same laws as all other frictional locking connec-
tions, and are not suitable for use as slipping clutches.
EASY ADJUSTABILITY Hubs can be located at any point on the shaft and are adjusta-
ble to precise angles.
EASY CALCULATIONS This catalogue lists all interesting data in the form of quick-re-
ference tables.

Installation and removal instructions
Mounting Removing
Since the force is transmitted by contact pressure and friction The Locking Assemblies RfN 7013 are to be removed in the
between functional surfaces, condition of contact surfaces and following sequence:
proper tightening of the locking screws are of great importance
(see point 1). 1. Loosen all screws by a few turns.
1. All contact surfaces, including screw threads and screw 2. Remove the screws adjacent to each threaded bore and scr-
head bearing surfaces, must be clean and slightly oiled. ( Do ew them into these bores pressing off the outer ring. The
not use Molybdenum Disulphide!) In this condition, the connection is then released.
shaft, hub and Locking Assemblies are to be assembled.
3. The connection can be either re-adjusted or dis-assembled.
2. Tighten locking screws lightly and align hub. Remove the jack screws only after the Locking Assembly
has been taken out of the hub.
3. Tighten screws evenly in diametrically opposite sequence
and do this in two or three stages up to the indicated tigh- Dismount and clean dirty undamaged Locking Assemblies be-

Torque Wrenches and accessories
For controlled tightening of locking screws of Locking Assem- Torque Wrench Handles
blies RINGFEDER® we offer suitable torque wrenches and
attachments. These tools facilitate the installation of our
Locking Assemblies particularly on straight through shafts.
They can be used, of course, also for mounting other Locking
Assemblies RINGFEDER®, Locking Elements, Shrink Discs and
other screwed or bolted connections.
The rigid square drives SSD and hex bit sockets exhibit compact
over-all dimensions and can be combined with commercially
available extensions. The SD-drives fit with all MCCM torque
handles. Square drives and hex bit socket drives required for
any given Locking Assembly size are listed in following table.
