Quick Reference Guide for Installation of

DEXIS® Imaging Suite Software on a Workstation

Verify System Specifications

All DEXIS network installations must begin with server installation (see Quick Reference Guide for Installation of
DEXIS Imaging Suite Software on a Server). Before installing DEXIS Imaging Suite, it is necessary to verify that the
workstation meets or exceeds minimum system requirements for the current version of DEXIS. Up-to-date DEXIS System
Requirements are available at www.dexis.com under Get Support a SYSTEM REQUIRMENTS.

Please be aware the specifications listed in this document are the bare minimum requirements for DEXIS to function.
Whenever possible, we recommend utilizing specifications above the minimum as faster processors and hard drives
and more memory will enhance performance.

Especially important specifications to check are:

• Operating System • DVD Drive • USB ports
• Central Processing Unit (CPU) • Network Card • Graphics card
• System Memory (RAM) • Motherboard • Hard Disk Drive

This information can be found in the device’s manual or from the manufacturer’s website. If neither of these is
available, each component can be looked up in System Information. Descriptions of what can be found in and how to
access System Information are available through the Microsoft knowledgebase.

If any specifications of the server do not meet or exceed the minimum requirements, it will be necessary to upgrade
computers prior to installing the DEXIS software. If requirements are met, then peripheral device compatibility can then
be checked.

Verify Peripheral Device Compatibility

In addition to verifying that the server itself meets system requirements, it will be necessary to verify that all peripheral
hardware to be used in DEXIS is supported.

All DEXIS sensors and cameras are fully supported in the current versions of DEXIS Imaging Suite. However, the Classic
sensor with PC card interface is not supported in 64-bit Windows environments.

For third party sensors, cameras, or a panoramic unit that will be utilized through DEXIS, verify that each device will
work in DEXIS. Current supported devices are found at www.dexis.com under Get Support a SUPPORTED HARDWARE,
or in the HARDWARE INSTALLATION section of the Software Manual. Also, check with the manufacturer to be sure the
device has compatible drivers for the version of Windows on your computer. For example, the Schick CDR 2000 sensors
only have native drivers available for 32 bit machines. For these sensors to work in DEXIS and in 64 a bit environment
the CDR Intraoral TWAIN Drivers must be obtained and installed.
