Affordable and Budget-Friendly Food are a growing sector in the Local Businesses. Based on
data, Social conversations about Silog have increased by 29.35% over the past year. 0.02%
restaurants offer Silog on their menus. In early 2023, Karyl Caspillo established Karyl’s Silog,
through his full-time commitment, turned it into a very successful self-run operation. It entrusts
its human resources department for the business development.

a. Marketing Environment

1). Competitive forces. Karyl's Silog is popular in Baguio because of the cheapness and
deliciousness of the food. But Karly Silog experiences tough competition because of the Tapa
Boy that became popular on the internet. Tapa Boy is one of the best food trucks in baguio, a
very-well known and well-established restaurant. Despite the strong popularity of Tapa Boy, the
image of the restaurant is not good enough because of the price and customer service.

2). Economic forces. The Philippines is an emerging country and the rate is increasing in
economic standards. Karyl’s Silog is willing to adjust based on the economic status of the
country – for the buyers to still afford the range of pricing to adopt the following changes. In
addition, companies nowadays have a budget to promote or to advertise their business. These
expenses may cause their price to increase. However, some other companies reduced their
promotion budget, especially mass media ads. For Karyl’s Silog, it focuses on promoting the
business on budget to gain customer value.

3). Political forces. There are no expected political influences or events that could affect the
operations of Karyl’s Silog.

4). Legal and Regulatory forces. Karyl’s Silog followed the laws to ensure the safeness and the
quality of service of the consumers and customers before it launched in the local business. It
follows business ethics in order to fit in the customers’ standards.
5). Technological forces. In technological trends, it involves personal information
managers,personal digital assistants to improve communication and better management
information systems for widely technological information involved in the business.

6). Sociocultural factors. The society’s situation today, most people prefer convenience goods
due to lack of time and effort. Most successful businesses become successful due to their
convenient food offer. One of the Customer Preferences are convenience and ease of use. Karyl’s
Silog offers ready to eat and fresh silogs that they can serve to their customers.

b. Target Market

As small businesses usually only have enough resources to target market segments, it’s
important to select the most relevant segment before launching a marketing plan. Karyl’s Silog
effectively implemented Niche Marketing to focus on their customers’ expectations. This way,
the brand aims to reach its growth potential and create thriving brand loyalty and long-lasting
relationships with its ideal consumer group. It is a profitable product to gain customers by
providing good quality and service.

Our target market includes:

- people wanting cheapness but delicious food in the local business.


- people who prefer convenience and ease of use.
- people wanting to eat Filipino food to satisfy their cravings, especially when they have
lots of time.

Karyl’s Silog is a qualitative business that is an emerging business nowadays. For the
developments and improvements – Karyl’s Silog are eager for some arrangements and changes
to provide efficiency to their customers. Karyl’s Silog will become a profitable business sooner
due to the demand. It is capable of producing and operating good quality foods to gain more
customers and focusing on their target market.
c. Current Marketing Objectives and Performance

Karyl' Silog is a very well structured small business. It is gaining popularity day by day because
of high-quality, budget friendly and deliciousness of the food. One of the objectives of Karyl's
silog is to supply clients with healthy and freshly cooked food in a fast and efficient way.
Another objective is to go for prospective clients. The food truck goes to crowded places in the
park, because on weekends or holidays most offices and schools in the city are closed.

Karyl Silog offers similar food to others, but with a much higher convenience factor both in
terms of time and menu, the foodservice market will grow up to its highest point in the market.
The other objective of karyl's Silog is to decrease food waste to help reduce the amount of trash
created by the food truck business. This goal is important especially in the environment and to
the health of the business. And lastly is to develop and maintain strong relationships with
suppliers and to consumers, this may help the business thrive.
