This procedure defines the method used to ensure that all drywall partition works have

 Project Manager has the overall responsibility of the project for execution, quality
and safety. He will maintain the planning progress and co-ordination of works.
 Supervisors / Foreman shall be directly responsible for the day-to-day job at site, for
coordinating of work with skilled and unskilled labor or any other staff assigned in his
area.
Responsibilities &  Supervisors/ Charge Hands shall be directly responsible for the day- to-day job at site,

 QA/QC Department will be overseeing the quality requirements and quality control
measures for the project in coordination with Project/Site Engineer(s).
 Safety Engineer shall be responsible for the health & safety aspects on site as per Safety
Manual. Safety Inspector will be present at all times of job execution.
 Working lines and level shall be set out before installation.
 Setting out of partitions to be done with respect to layout and checked with respect to
side dimensions and approved shop drawing.
 Metal studs shall be positioned at equal center, maintaining sequence across openings.
 Vertical Joints shall be provided on opposite sides of partitions and be staggered, where
more than 1 layer of plasterboard is applied, joints between layers shall be staggered.
 Partition material shall be checked for the following before use;
a. Approved type and size of material with specified coating or treatment.
b. Walls maintained at right angles, correct gauge of metal.
Procedure/Method c. Free of defects as bents, dents, sag, warp, stains, rust and discoloration

be checked with other work such as architectural work, interior work, mechanical
or electrical work. Any discrepancy shall be resolved.
e. Cut edges of boards shall be lightly sanded to remove paper burrs & joints shall
be covered with continuous lengths of tapes and fully beaded.
f. All external angles shall be protected by the use of drywall angle beads with
plasterboard edge beads.
g. When jointing is complete & dry, drywall primer shall be applied to complete
surface ready to receive decoration.
h. The completed area shall be checked for plumb, right angle & surface finish.
i. Work Inspection Request shall be raised for Consultant’s inspection and sign .

Control Measures:
Implementation of Health & Safety mechanisms and checks shall be done as per contract
agreement and the approved safety manual. The safety officer shall carryout the necessary
routine inspections.
1. Task Lighting: Adequate lighting will be provided ensuring the good illumination of the
working area. Task lighting will be connected to the nearest site distribution board which is
RCD protected.
2. Emergency Arrangements: Site general safety procedure will be followed. In case of
emergency the safety officer will stop the work. He will put in to action the emergency
arrangements as described in safety Manual.
