CSR
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is defined as the voluntary activities undertaken by us
which produce an overall positive impact on the society. In this fest we are trying to integrate our social and environmental concerns. All the dignities that would be arriving for the CSR Events would be honoured by the Chief Guest of the day.
Annual NGO Fest
We would like to organize an Annual NGO’s Fest at the campus. We would like to invite NGOs associated with the university to showcase their work and activities including livelihood projects that help to uplift deprived or unprivileged groups of the society such as artisans, street children and vulnerable women. This event will provide a rare opportunity for the students of the University to understand the scope of work done by the NGOs and their social sector activities.
E-WASTE Collecting e-waste from places inside and outside Thapar University with the support of Society called PRATIGYA. This can be used to recycle and make projects by school children or even college students. Projects would either be working or non-working models which would be later displayed in our college at the time of fest. This can be converted into an inter-school or inter- college competition from different cities. Participants would be provided with goodies and vouchers sponsored by PRATIGYA and Saturnalia 2016.
Nirmaan A Nirmaan Stall through which products made by underprivileged people will be put up for sale. With the help of Enactus society. we'll increase our outreach and this would help in better sales. This will encourage them and help them in becoming self-dependent as all the profit generated will be given to them. The products would include cloth bags, T-shirts and other decorative items. The stalls would be setup in the main ground to attract a lot of crowd and increase the chances of getting higher sales.
Recycling Visit With the help of PRATIGYA society, we would like to organize a visit to a village to educate people about recycling and how they can use waste products to their advantage. We'll make paper bags out of the newspaper and paper waste and can generate revenue out of it. Through street plays with TNT, we'll make them aware of the importance of recycling. The event is being launched keeping in mind that it would continue on even after the fest is over and would later on be taken care by PRATIGYA Society and members of our team. Blood Donation Camp Blood donation camp will be organized under blood connect ( as a project under NSS IIT DELHI ).
