Power Connectors
1.0Rational
When it comes to electronics, power is essential. Power connectors act as the vital link
between a device and its source of power. In consumer electronics, power connectors are
what you plug into the wall receptacle. For the purposes of this discussion, these are not
the type of power connectors that interests us. Our focus and attention will be given to
power connectors for use in non-consumer equipment. Power connectors are devices that
allows an electrical current to pass through it for the exclusive purpose of providing
power to a device (not a data stream, for example, or anything more complex). Although
it can be used with many different types of electronics, customers must find the specific
type of connector that best matches their electronics’ geometry and electrical needs.
A coaxial power connector is an electrical power connector used for attaching extra-low
voltage devices such as consumer electronics to external electricity. Also known as barrel
connectors, concentric barrel connectors or tip connectors, these small cylindrical
connectors come in an enormous variety of sizes.
Electrical connectors are classified into three types based on their termination
ends: board-to-board connectors, cable/wire-to-cable/wire connectors, and cable/wire-to-
board connectors
The power supply connector can only be plugged in while pointing a specific direction
on the motherboard. If you look carefully at the following illustration, you can see the
pins take a unique shape, one the motherboard matches in only one direction.

Identify different types of component system
There are two main types of power connector - residential and industrial. Power
connectors carry either AC (alternating current) or DC (direct current). AC connectors
allow a device to be connected directly to a power supply. DC connectors typically come
in standard sizes and are not interchangeable for safety reasons.
There are three categories of electrical connectors: light-duty, medium-duty, and heavy-
duty. Each category heading refers to how much voltage the connector can handle. A
light-duty electrical power connector can carry up to 250 volts (V) of a low current.
Power connectors are devices that allows an electrical current to pass through it for the
exclusive purpose of providing power to a device .
The input/output (I/O) Connectors are for attaching external devices, such as printers,
keyboards, and displays, to the server. Wire to Board Connectors: These types of
Connectors are used to connect wires to a printed circuit board to enable connectivity
between circuits.
An example of this would be the double screw connector that holds some power cords in
place on the back of computers in network rooms.
Connectors can be famous for their physical presentation and mating features, including
jacks and attachment (male connectors) or attachments and ports (female connectors).
Connectors are used to connect the guided (wired) transmission media to devices like the
hub, server, workstations .
Common symptoms of motherboard issues are similar to CPU problems: The system does
not display anything; an error code appears; one or more beeps occur; the system locks;
the system reboots; a Windows BSOD (blue screen of death) appears; or one or more of
the ports, expansion slots, or memory modules fails.
Motherboard problems and power problems are probably the most difficult issues to
troubleshoot. Because various components are located on the motherboard, many things
can cause errors. POST (power-on self-test) is one of the most beneficial aids for
troubleshooting a motherboard. The meaning of any codes that appear on the screen
should be researched. If multiple POST error codes appear, you should troubleshoot them
in the order they are presented. The following list helps with motherboard
troubleshooting.
The first step is to check the power supply unit. Ensure that it's functioning correctly and
supplying enough power to the motherboard. You can use a power supply tester to check
the power supply unit.
The motherboard is the computer, so the usual symptom of a failed motherboard is a
completely dead system. Fans, drives, and other peripherals may spin up if the
motherboard is dead, but more often nothing at all happens when you turn on the power.
No beeps, no lights, no fans, nothing.
The motherboard is the backbone that ties the computer's components together at one spot
and allows them to talk to each other. Without it, none of the computer pieces, such as the
CPU, GPU, or hard drive, could interact.
Troubleshoot peripheral and networks
The purpose of peripherals is to extend and enhance what a computer is capable of doing
without modifying the core components of the system. A printer is a good example of a
peripheral. It is connected to a computer, extends its functionality, but is not actually part
of the core machine.
Peripherals are commonly divided into three kinds: input devices, output devices, and
storage devices (which partake of the characteristics of the first two). An input device
converts incoming data and instructions into a pattern of electrical signals in binary code
that are comprehensible to a digital computer.
Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot, or select the Find
troubleshooters shortcut at the end of this topic. Select the type of troubleshooting you
want to do, then select Run the troubleshooter. Allow the troubleshooter to run and then
answer any questions on the screen.
5.0resource required
There's more than a few resources available, online or offline, to teach the importance and
'how-to's of building strong relations . but i've never quite gone through material like the
work Judy Robinett put out in How to be a Power Connector. Depending on what you are
trying to achieve, there's always people you need to know and/or work with. In the book
she provides a more than reasonable template for figuring out the people you need to
know, effectively reaching out to them, and a system for organizing contacts and keeping
in touch with them after the initial interaction.
7.0Applications of Micro-project
Electronic connectors are devices that join electronic circuits. They are used
in assembling, installing, and supplying power to electrical devices. Connector
important component of every electronic equipment used in industrial machinery,
consumer electronics, communications, and home and commercial appliance.
Mains connectors allow electric devices to be connected to the primary power supply
(AC) running through a building via wall mounted power points or sockets.
