GENERAL ENGLISH
80 weeks (10-14 weeks per level)

The General English course is designed to help develop your


listening, speaking, reading and writing skills for basic
everyday use through strengthening grammar skills and
learning new vocabulary, genre study and conversation
practice. The course content focuses on different themes,
grammar structure, and pronunciation.
Levels:
• PTG011 Beginner – 10 weeks
• PTG012 Elementary – 14 weeks
• PTG013 Pre-intermediate – 14 weeks
• PTG014 Intermediate – 14 weeks
• PTG015 Upper-intermediate – 14 weeks
• PTG016 Advanced – 14 week

CAMBRIDGE ENGLISH
C1 Advanced (CAE)
12 weeks

The C1 Advanced exam is widely recognised by universities,


employers, and governments around the world as proof of
your advanced level of English proficiency (C1 of the CEFR
Common European Framework of Reference for languages
scale), as required in high-level academic and professional
settings. This course will help you develop your English
proficiency and familiarize you with test procedures and
requirements.

structures to perform well in the Cambridge English
Advanced Exam
• Develop skills in the use of English, reading, writing,
listening, and speaking.

ENGLISH FOR ACADEMIC PURPOSE


with IELTS Exam Skills
20 weeks (10 weeks per level)

This course has been designed to improve your capacity as


a learner to use English in higher education contexts and
help you prepare for the IELTS exam. Each week, academic
skill sets and IELTS exam skills are studied such as academic
speaking, academic writing, academic reading, listening,
study skills, grammar, and vocabulary extension.

IELTS TARGET 6&7
20 weeks (10 weeks per level)

The IELTS or International English Language Testing System


is a standardised English language proficiency test used to
assess the English language competency of non-native
English speakers. It is the commonly used test to satisfy the
language requirements for immigration into Australia.

This course has been designed to prepare students that are


already at Upper-intermediate or Advanced levels for the
General Training or Academic IELTS exam, to achieve an
overall IELTS result of 6.0 to 7.0 respectively. Two topics per
week (e.g. Psychology and Education)
• Vocabulary and grammar structures
• IELTS Exam Skills (General and Academic)

HIGH SCHOOL PREPARATION


50 weeks (10-12 weeks per level)

The High School Preparation course (HSP) has been


designed to improve the capacity of the adolescent (16 to
18-year-old) learner to use the English language in both
everyday and high school-specific contexts.
• Improve your macro skills, grammar, and vocabulary
while studying interesting and informative topics.
• Learn basic concepts and vocabulary for Australian high
school Math, IT/Engineering, Cultural appreciation, and
English – Public speaking and Academic Writing.

not change the learning outcomes required
by the courses.

program; it has been designed to prepare you
for a future in the Australian higher education
system and help build their academic study skills
for future success.

ONLINE Studying Online is a very popular option as it means that you can fit your dreams in
amongst your life without having to make any big sacrifices. We have a fantastic virtual

COURSE classroom that takes you through your learning material step by step. You will also have
access to our very knowledgeable trainers that are here to help you every step of the

DETAILS way. Learning will never be dull as you are given a range of resources to learn from
including videos, live sessions, and relevant learning activities.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The core text for all levels uses Navigate as


its main resource, published by Oxford
University Press.

The online curriculum will consist of six


modules, with each module having 4
units. For each unit students will need to
complete a range of assessments and
tasks before progressing to the next
module.

Three modules should take around three


weeks to complete and each student
must complete at all six modules before
being eligible to progress to the next
level of competency.

Students will not only be guided by pre-


recorded classes, but they will also have
weekly live classes for support to review
their work from their study week.
Students will also be given support from
our Academic support officers based in
South America and Asia.

After studying the online Pre-Intermediate


course, you are expected to:

▪ Give detailed spoken directions

▪ Write a personal letter/email
▪ Write a text describing experiences, feelings, and

▪ Demonstrate an understanding of a short-spoken
narrative
▪ Follow detailed spoken directions
▪ Demonstrate an understanding of main points and
speaker viewpoints in short spoken texts
▪ Demonstrate an understanding of main points in
straightforward written opinion texts on familiar
subjects

events in straightforward written narratives

course, you are expected to:

problems

▪ Write a short narrative describing experiences and
feelings
▪ Write an email dealing with a problem or severe
issue

Study Details
Study mode availability:
▪ Blended and On-campus: All Courses are available for blended learning with a minimum of 20 hours per
week and a maximum of 25 hours per week.
▪ Online: Currently, the only course available for online study is the General English course with 20 hours of
learning per week.
Entry requirements:
▪ Minimum 16 years old
▪ Participate in SCIC Placement Test

Course-specific entry requirements for English for Academic Purposes (EAP) with IELTS Exam Skills
Successful completion of Upper-intermediate General English or:
▪ IELTS Score of 5.5 or equivalent
▪ IELTS Score of 6.0 overall to enter AEP2 programme

▪ IELTS Score of 5.5 or equivalent
