A Position Paper of Cyber Bullying

Cyber bullying victims are harassed from the moment they wake up and check
their phones or laptops from time to time. Cyber bullying differs from conventional
bullying in that it involves images, messages, intimidation, and cruel or offensive texts
and posts. The most common victims are teenagers and adolescents, but people in the
workplace may also be victims. Online bullying is always anonymous or difficult to track,
and it can have a negative impact on your self-esteem. Cyber bullying is a major issue
on social media, and it is important to educate people about what cyber bullying is and
how it affects others. Threats, rude messages, and other forms of cyber bullying affect
people through social media, and bullies will face the consequences of their actions on
social media under Republic Act No. 10627. According to the law, bullying can be used
as a form of joke, battling, or mocking, and you will be held accountable.
Cyber bullying can be debilitating, leaving you feeling powerless, furious,
depressed, and even suicidal. Cyber bullying can happen everywhere, including at
home, and it is happening now in our generation. Nowadays, people in social danger
are anonymous only to threaten or prank others. In my opinion, cyber bullying should be
addressed because many of us are affected by it, and it is unhealthy for our mental
wellbeing, as it can affect our behavior and cause anxiety, and as many as 25% of
those who have been cyber bullied have experienced suicidal thoughts as a result.
Cyber bullying can trigger anxiety, depression, and terror, as well as a deterioration of
interpersonal relationships and intense embarrassment. Almost half of teenagers said
they felt powerless and lonely when cyber bullying happened to them. It is critical to
actively engage in people's lives, especially those of young people, by asking people
what they are doing online and maintaining open lines of communication. We also need
an internet safety and proper usage policy. Since people can post whatever they want,
be whoever they want, and do it all behind a screen, cyber bullying has become
increasingly popular, particularly among teenagers. Someone making fun of another
person on the internet or posting something online about another person that they don't
like is an example of cyber bullying.
Cyber bullying can have a negative impact on people's mental health and can
result in deliberate repetitive harm done on others by the use of electronic devices,
according to Republic Act No.10627. To stop cyber bullying, think about what you write
or add to your photos, and avoid making cruel or derogatory comments or chats. Always
be cautious online, remembering that “WORDS DON'T JUST HURT BUT CAN KILL.”
