REFLECTION PAPER

This paper includes the reflection paper and the learnings that I have learned in
the discussions during finals. This reflection paper includes the chapter 9-12. In this
subject you really learn the rights of women and the history of women before, which
includes the inequality that the women received from the people.

In chapter 9, this talks about the laws, policies, and programs for Philippine
Women. As we all know before the women were not treated equally by the men
because they believed that the women are not capable of doing what they can do, in
which this means inequality. But today there are lot of programs and policies that helps
women in getting their rights as a human being. Now, there are policies which treated
equal rights among men and women, we have The Universal Declaration of Human
Rights, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Declaration against Women
(CEDAW), the Beijing Platform for Action (BPfA), the Millennium Development Goals
(MDGs), and the Sustainable Development Goals. These programs were not only to
protect women but also it protects children for trafficking, forced marriage, female
genital mutilation and other types of exploitation. Also, in this chapter they enhance the
use of enabling technology, particularly information and communications technology, to
promote the empowerment of women, because even though there are laws that protect
women some of the people were not really proper educated and continue to post and
comment hurtful thighs towards women. Here in the Philippines, there are lot of women
who became senators and even vice president in the country which also helps to focus
on the aspect of helping women as well as protecting them. Women is a very important
in the community, because we play a vital role in nation-building. Their inclusion in
societal structures and processes are key toward equality and development, so now we
are thankful that these laws were implemented because we can taste the equality
towards our gender. We can also do the thigs that the men do and we can also do the
things that we want to do.
