according to my math and physics I also came to 64 dimensions using ancient Egyptian math. Total
thier are infinite dimensions but the way to calculate is determined by the shape of the object.

E. Field
Our universe is made up by field and this
field also divided the other dimensions. From a
dimension it is the only way from where we can
travel. To travel in higher dimension behind the field

density is Density=Mass/Volume.
We discuss above that Mass is either positive or negative so it may be possible density is both positive and negative.
The density for an object which containing positive mass will be positive and the object which have negative mass
have negative density
I. Graviton
Graviton is a type of a particle which is responsible for the gravitational and anti gravitational force.
Graviton is also known as Quantum Gravity. But no Quantum particles are found who is responsible for Gravity.
But a particle is present in universe that is responsible for Gravity. Let's assume a single hydrogen atom containing
one electron, one proton and a neutron but if we study to smaller and very small scale in the neutron then we find
quarks there are three quarks find in neutrons two up and one down. And if we go to deeper then we find Higgs
Field. In more deeper we finds Higgs Boson particle at last we find graviton. Graviton is the smallest particle in
our universe it is mass less so it is easy to travel form one dimension to another dimension. But how we see the
graviton? To see the graviton we need Large Hadrons Collider and collapse two proton with the dual speed of light
and then graviton see at only 1/100 millisecond after that graviton will travel from one dimension to the another
dimension.
Here we discuss all the eight dimensions responsible for everything. But one question is still left that is all the planes
of these dimensions are present in our universe.
Formula for finding planes in dimension is (2) ^n So there are n = 8 so there must be 256 planes from them only
we have 64 planes.
If every plane is consider as dimension so there are only 64 dimensions in our universe and we go only through
these 64 dimensions. 64th dimensional is the highest dimension in our universe.
white hole like electron revolving around atom. White hole is much smaller than galaxies alike Proton is much
smaller than electron.
Let’s see that our Galaxy, Our solar system is revolving around massive black hole, our earth and another planets
of our solar system is also revolving around the sun looks like a atom so our universe is very similar to the atom.
So it is clear that life is also possible in atom, in particle and everywhere even in another universe or Cosmos which
is very beautiful life which we can't see.
IV. CONCLUSION
Conclusion of the story is very clear that every object is made up by these 8 dimensions we are also moving
in these 8 dimensions at our universe is also made up by the these dimensions 64 planes and their 64 planes are
behaving like 64 dimensions and we are not travel more than this 64 dimension this is our highest limit.
Life is present in everywhere in the cosmos but it is different in form. Every atom contains a small universe
and the nuclear force between two particles in the atom play role of gravitation force. The speed of
darkness is equal to the light and darkness can also escape the high gravitational force of black hole. Anti-
Mass is create space time, it is also have mass but in another dimension.
The smallest particle in our universe is Graviton not God particle.
We all know about the wonders intrinsic to modern science: the big bang, the
gravitational force, time, solar system. The thread extends to infinity. But do we
actually know the truth? W ell, let’s see what Hindu cosmology has to say about
it? As we have progressed into the twenty-first century; man is at its peak of
excelling with its space endeavour of India’s Mars Orbiter Mission or the Cassini-
Huygens Mission of the west.
We contemplate the present projects and future prospects. But, it is also
important to look back at the traditional heritage of the Vedas,
Puranas, and Surya Siddhanta. A lot of the discoveries of the modern world had
already been mentioned in the Indian Vedic texts. It was long before the advent
of the west. You may not believe it but it has proof.
What is important to note he re is that all of the claims made were theoretical in
the sense that the Indian philosopher did not have the help of scientific apparatus
for assistance in their discoveries. For instance, at the basic level, all of the
calculations were done without the a id of a calculator.
This article emphasizes the Vedic perspective of our solar system in comparison
with the modern structure to understand the universe with respect to an
individual’s existence.

VEDIC COSMOLOGY
Cosmology deals with the science behind the workings of the universe.
Scientists in this field are preoccupied with the intricacies, theories, and laws of
the universe starting from the Big Bang to the theory of everything. Hindu
cosmology is the portrayal of the universe and its all processes a ccording to
Hindu texts, mainly the Vedas.
To discuss something as vast as space and our own minuscule existence in it,
we need to understand our solar system’s position in the universe as per the
Indian Vedic texts.
It is important to talk about both the spiritual and the physical existence of a
human. The physical existence is restrictive and does not go beyond the three
dimensions of space. On the other hand, spiritual existence refers to the eternal
nature of life without beginning or end. Our life is an entity of the all -
permeating, all-transcending cosmic energy without which the body is subject to
decay.
In simpler terms, the spiritual stage refers to the mind not being restricted to the
three known dimensions of length, breadth, and height. Rather, the mind can
perceive ‘Time’ as another dimension, the fourth from the 64 dimensions in
Vedas. Here, the human is closer to God as the experience is beyond the
perception of the senses.
or Bhurloka lies in the middle of the higher and the lower planets. Higher
planets are elevated above the Earth and are considered auspicious.
They maintain balance through opposite and equal qualities; for instance,
Jupiter or Brihaspati is an auspicious planet and on the other hand, Saturn
or Sanaiscara is considered inauspicious. Mars or Anagarka prevents rainfall on
the Earth and Venus or Shukra bestows rainfall.
They are under the control of Goddess Durga and are therefore called Deviloka.
Below the Earth, there lies Atala, Vitala, Sutala, Talatala, Mahatala, Rasatala,
and Patala. They are at a much further distance from the sun’s rays and hence,
deprived of the light which is symbolic of spiritual knowledge.
These are inhabited by people of great demonic powers, serpents, and
immortals- which refer to a negative conception. The y do not enjoy spiritual
growth because of their distance from God - the effulgent, life-giving sun. They
are therefore called Bila-svarga. This realm is all about intoxications, and
material wealth. In the above -mentioned structure, our solar system lies in the
middle of higher planets or Deviloka and the lower planets.
The purpose of this is perhaps to indicate the importance of choosing the right
path according to dharma so that we can elevate ourselves spiritually and
prevent our downfall towards doom.
OUR SOLAR SYSTEM ACCORDING TO HINDU
COSMOLOGY
Following are some texts from Vedas

reflects the light that the sun. Hindu cosmology explains such phenomena
through interesting epigrams.
The Moon decided to get married and as a wedding gift, the Sun gave his
daughter ‘sun rays’ to the Moon. It is in an equally interesting way that the
eclipse is explained:
O Sun! When you are blocked by the one whom you gifted your own light,
and then the earth gets scared by the sudden darkness
When the moon is positioned betwee n the Sun and the Earth, the light of the
Sun is momentarily blocked and we experience a blackout or an eclipse on the
Earth. This also hints at the traditional practices that people perform on the day
of the eclipse to please the gods and goddesses.
In the modern world, when we talk about the mind and the universe, the image
that comes to our mind is quite possibly the ‘galaxy -brain meme’. This seems to
be the best example to understand the connection between the mind and the
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
universe. As stated earlier, a spiritual mind can experience the fourth dimension
which is Time.
As in the meme, when the mind begins to expand through knowledge, it becomes
more one with the universe to the point that there is no distinction between the
mind and the universe. The connection between the mind and the bigger, outer
world goes way back to Atharvaveda. According to Atharvaveda, our bodies
have chakras parallel to our spinal cord.
According to Hindu cosmology, these chakras are the primary points of focus.
The proper stimulation of these chakras through meditation can make the person
aware of his position in the vast universe. In this state of higher consciousness,
the mind is closer to grasping the nature of the universe. In simpler words, a
differentiation can be experienced between the physical body and the spiritual
mind.
The spiritual mind is placed on the pedestal and the physical body which is made
from the five basic tattvas: earth, water, fire, air, and space, returns to its raw
state.
CONCLUSION
Thus, being dismissive of the Vedas makes a person ignorant to a vast amount
of knowledge that was produced with meagre apparatus, but is as accurate as of
the modern discoveries.

You must have read about dimensions in physical and mathematical sciences. According to string theory,
the universe has 10 dimensions. According to M theory 11 and according to Bojonic theory, the universe
has 26 dimensions. We can relate dimension to direction. Come let’s know important information.
Scientists say that there can be 10 dimensions in the universe but broadly our universe is three
dimensional. The first dimension is up and down, the second is right and left, the third is forward and
backward. This is what is called 3D. There is also a fourth dimension called time. You can feel the time
moving forward. We can’t go back in this. Our entire universe is based on these four dimensions.
Basically, the first dimension is a dot or zero. The second is back-and-forth, right-left, third up-down, the
fourth time in which we are walking now. The rest of the dimension is the hypothesis that scientists
have stated. There may be a fifth, sixth, seventh or greater dimension in some other universe or the
invisible universe.
The fifth dimension is called the Brahma dimension. Brahma resides in this dimension. Many types of
universes originate from this dimension. The time here is different. As we have said that one day of
Brahma is equal to one Kalpa. This space is outside the four dimensions.
After this, Mahavishnu resides in the sixth dimension. Mahavishnu also has three parts – Karnadakasayi
Vishnu, Garbhodakasayi Vishnu and Ksirodakasayi Vishnu.
In this, karnadakasayi i.e. Mahavishnu creates the elements from which these 5 dimensions are created.
This is called mahat and in whose stomach the whole universe is there. With each breath cycle, the
universe keeps on appearing and destroying.
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
After this comes the number of the seventh dimension which is called the Satya dimension or Brahma
Jyoti. Brahma is not the light of Brahma, just like the light of the sun. In this dimension is contained that
elemental knowledge with the help of which man goes into the category of deities.
Its number comes from the 10th dimension, which is said to be infinite. We told you in the fourth point
above that from infinity, greatness and greatness, darkness has arisen from the darkness. This infinite
Supreme Being is the Supreme Lord i.e. Paramatma, Ishvara or Brahman. The whole world has
originated from this Brahmand. The whole world including Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva gets absorbed in this
Brahmand itself. It pervades everywhere even though it remains stable in the form of light in one place.
This is the Sanatan truth in which 64 types of dimensions are included according to the Vedas.

Which are the 14 Lokas as per vedas?
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
According to Hindu mythology, our soul takes birth in different worlds (realms) based on
the Law of Karma. The actions you do from the time you are born in any world to the time you
die, your soul carries information, experience, learnings, and evolve based on that, vibrating at a
certain frequency. Your soul’s frequency will match one of the realms where you will be born.
Please note, I have oversimplified things even in calculations as the complexity is too difficult to
cover here.
Realm of God:
1. Satya Loka (infinite existence, universe himself) - The top of the universe. The creator
lives here. Vibrates at the highest frequency to anything that will be ever known.
Longevity - 311 trillion human years (100 creator years). His current age is 50 years
1st day which is 155.5 trillion human years which is the current age of our universe.
God-Level: 100%
2. Tapa Loka (infinite consciousness, universal presence)- 2nd highest part of the
universe. The beings who live here sometimes act as the bridge to connect the universe
and sometimes act as a part of the creator itself.
Longevity - from the time of reaching this realm till the time creator exists.
God-Level: Between 1%–99%
3. Jana Loka (infinite delight, observable universe presence)- The beings here have all
the knowledge about every realm that exists above and below them, know about
existence itself and the universe combined, but are still curious to learn more. They can
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
travel anywhere in the universe at the speed of thought. They don’t even need a
physical/any form to exist. They are more than aware (definition of awareness) and lost
in the beauty of existence.
Longevity - till creator exists.
Lifespan - 3.11 trillion years.
God-Level: 1%
Realm of Heaven:
1. Bhuvar (Pitra) Loka (realization of existence, start/reset: solar presence)- The air,
atmosphere. The beings here don’t have a physical existence but need a medium to
exist hence, can live in the air in the form of spirits. They are everywhere on earth and
solar system and have to decide whether they are ready to leave the physical world
forever and go to Svar Loka or come back to Bhu Loka and live one more life on
earth. The beings who come back to the earth realm want to experience physical life as
Earth is the last and therefore the most fragile form of physical existence. In this Loka,
beings can observe everything - past, present & future of earth but in no way interact
with the physical world.
Longevity - 306.72 million years.
Lifespan - up to 4.32 million years.
God-Level: 10^(-8)%
2. Bhu Loka (realization of consciousness, start/reset: planetary presence)- The realm of
earth. Vibrates at medium frequency. The realm where attraction to the physical world
is still relevant and existing and you can experience it. There are many planets with life
that exist in this realm, earth being just one of those. This realm gives a balance
between attraction and liberation, prophecy and spirituality. Life on earth is alive for

just 12 hours of a day of the creator. The 12 creator hours can be divided into
14 Manvantara and each Manvantara has a total of 71 Yuga cycles. Currently, we
are in the 7th Manvantara at the 28th Yuga cycle. Each Yuga cycle longevity - 4.32
million years.
For simplicity, 12 creator hours can be divided into 1000 cycles of 4 Yuga. The 4
Yugas are:
Satya Yuga - Age of Truth.
Longevity - 17.28 creator secs which is 1.72 million years.
The lifespan of humans - 1,00,000 years to 10,000 years (start of Yuga to end of Yuga
).
God Level: 10^(-10)%
Religion: Truth (Truth = Lie = 0)
There is no concept of right and wrong. People don't even need to speak to
communicate and rarely speak in the event of misunderstanding. Inclusive population.
Vishnu Avatars - Fish, Turtle/Tortoise, Boar, Lion
Famous Festival- Holi
Treta Yuga - Age of Mistakes.
Longevity - 12.96 creator secs which is 1.29 million years.
The lifespan of humans - 10,000 years to 1000 years.
God Level: 10^(-11)%
Religion: Righteousness (Truth + Lie = 0)
Everybody does the right thing. Nature puts 2 right people against each other and
wrong is born. The right that finally dominates becomes the right thing to do in life.
Population becomes exclusive.
Vishnu Avatars - Dwarf (born with God powers), Cave Man, Ideal Human
Famous Festival - Diwali
Dwapar Yuga - Age of enmity.
Longevity - 8.64 creator secs which is 0.86 million years.
The lifespan of humans - 1000 years to 100 years.
God Level: 10^(-12)%
Religion: Honour (Truth + Lie > 0)
Right and wrong are real. When people lie, they are aware they are wrong but still do
certain things because of the existence of an exclusive population who wants power,
lust, and luxury over another set of people.
Vishnu Avatars - Teacher (born with God powers), Yogi
Kali Yuga - Age of Darkness. Currently, we are here.
Longevity - 4.32 creator secs which is 0.43 million years.
The lifespan of humans - less than 100 years.
Kali Yuga is believed to have started around 17/18 Feb 3102 BCE and will end on
428,899 CE.
God Level: 10^(-13)%.
Religion: Delusion (Truth + Lie < 0)
People are ignorant of right & wrong. Whatever works is right & the truth will be
driven more by believers and less by seekers.
Vishnu Avatars - Destroyer (most advanced individual of the multiverse, will be born
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
with God powers around 4 Lakh years from now, Abrahamic Religions call that
Judgement Day)
The counter-theory suggests, the 4 Yugas instead of coming in a circular way comes in an
oscillating way. Therefore, every odd cycle starts from Satya Yuga and ends in Kali Yuga and
every even cycle starts with Kali Yuga and ends with Satya Yuga. Since we are at the 28th cycle
(even cycle), this is actually the Satya Yuga that has started, 5 milliseconds ago, and technology and
evolution are just proving to be one of the features. The confusion is common between people of
Satya & Kali and people of Treta & Dwapar, where exactly are we. Let our consciousness guide that.
There is another justifying theory that suggests, the Yuga-cycle is governed by Divine Years
(Heaven): 1 human year = 1 Divine Day. Therefore,
1. Atala Loka (finite lust, start/reset: sub-planetary/lunar presence)- The beings here are
immortal, free from old age and diseases, and live a life that they ever wanted to live.
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
Your imagination is a reality. It is more attractive than Heaven Realms and in many
religions considered to be a true definition of Heaven. However, this is like being
locked inside one’s own imagination where after a certain limit, the path/guidance
towards true meaning starts becoming desire. Imagine listening to your same favorite
music, eating the same favorite food, talking about the same favorite things, etc. How
long will it take to frustrate you? The one who wants to seek an answer comes to Bhu
Loka. Since there is no pain or sadness here, the value of pleasure and happiness
decreases over time, and after a saturation level, being relatively lesser happy than
yesterday will be the reason to inflict pain to yourself unknowingly and this keeps
growing if not checked. Since pain doesn’t kill, pain may become a new pleasure.
2. Vitala Loka (finite ignorance, start/reset: asteroidal presence)- The beings here
generally live longer and healthy life compared to Earth. From the success angle, even
the richest on earth will be very small compared to the poorest of this realm. The idea
of spirituality is lost here and people are in a never-ending race where at no limit
anything is even sufficient for them to give satisfaction. A population of successful
people all living a highly dissatisfied life.
3. Sutala Loka (finite ego, start/reset: sub-asteroidal presence)- The beings are turning
evil to satisfy their materialistic pleasures. Right becomes Wrong and Wrong becomes
Right. Needless to say, you do the right thing. There is nothing called spirituality. It is
all about who gets the highest possession of materialistic pleasures and then calls
himself God.
4. Talatala Loka (finite hallucination, start/reset: granular presence)- The beings here
live a kind of similar life as of Atala Loka, the difference is, this time your soul is
living in someone else illusion considered to be originating from you. Your soul is
literally inside a prison now and completely unaware of it. This doesn’t mean beings
won’t be living in a castle made of precious stones built above the cloud.
5. Mahatala Loka (finite fear, start/reset: molecular presence)- A world populated by
Hooded Nagas (Hooded Snakes) who fear Garuda (Eagle). Also, a place where huge
snakes suddenly and often appear from underground and anybody can be abducted and
killed at any time. Every second is precious. Hence, beings live peacefully with each
other. The world is full of imposters though.
6. Rasatala Loka (finite darkness, start/reset: atomic presence)- The home of devils.
This is a world of constant war. If your soul doesn’t move to the above realms, there
will be infinite times you will be born and die not a good death, over and over again
for materialistic desires. Everybody hates everybody, be it even God. Even after
having most of the treasure, life here will be in scarcity.
7. Patala Loka (finite illusion, start/reset: sub-atomic presence)- The darkest place of all
the worlds. The deadliest of the snakes live here. Also, the Richest Realm keeps this
world shining. Wore by Nagas themselves. It is perceived differently by different
people. The most mysterious Loka of all. Gods say this is the most beautiful realm
existing. Demons on the other hand couldn’t even speak what they experienced - like a
shattered soul.
Therefore, the above 14 Lokas constitute 14 worlds of Brahma (creator) as mentioned in Bhagavata
Purana. Note that Shiva Purana talks about additional 42 Lokas (realms) that exist beyond our
universe.
CALCULATION OF TIME:
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
19729.44 creator seconds + 5.122 milliseconds passed from 3102 BCE (start of Kali Yuga
period) till 2020
= 19729.49122 * 10^5 human years
= 1,972,949,122 years
= 1.97 billion years
= age of earth.
Hence, the total number of times life already started and ended just on earth
= 6*71*4 + 27*4 + 3
= 1815 times
Time left before all forms of life extinct completely from the earth
= 12 hrs creator day - time already spent on earth
= 4.32 - 1.97
= 2.35 billion years
Time left before our entire galaxy or local group gets destroyed
= 3.10 trillion years
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
Therefore, since 1st day of the 51st year has just started thereby, deleting most of the previous
existence and creating new ones, it is not amusing why even the universe seems to appear like
just born when actually it is way older. We are right now existing at the time of the birthday of
the creator/universe. Happy Birthday!
CALCULATION OF SIZE:
If we change the Kardashev scale parameter of measurement from energy to population & lifespan:
a) 74 trillion humans working together as a cell in our body will be equal to the creator himself.
b) Even with the best scenario with 4 times the current population of 7.8 billion which is 31.1 billion
people, we can become an intergalactic civilization (Mahar Loka, possibly, a local group or little
beyond that).
This too is the limit set by science even if mankind has a glorious future, we are limited to a local
group. We are limited to 10^(-13) part of the universe.
c) Local group has a diameter of 10 million light-years. Hence, the diameter of the universe
= 10 million * 10^13
= 10^20 light-years in diameter.
Hence. we can say, if the universe is of the size of earth, the observable universe will be the size of
10 tennis balls.
This is a brief view of our universe.

6. Is there any science behind narad muni travelling through multiple universes
and even indian gods?
7.
8. My guru once told me that Narada Muni travels all over the universe on the sound of his
vina. If you know the science of vibrating sound and mantras the proper way you can do
that :)
9. The Vedic Version states that all creation evolves from sound. First there is sound and
sound produces space or ether. It even says in the Bible - first there was the word. So all
the elements of matter proceed from sound. It goes from subtle to gross - ahankara or
false ego, intelligence, mind, air, fire, water and earth. These 8 elements and their
qualities or senses constitute matter. The sense of space is sound. The sense of air is
feeling. The sense of fire is form. The sense of water is taste. The sense of earth is smell.
Also, the quality of an element is present in the one that comes after it.
10. That's how the yogis and sages of former times had what we today would call
supernatural powers. But it's not supernatural. It's completely natural. You just have to
know the science behind it. When you know the right sounds, you can create or dissolve
matter. This is known to some degree in modern science after it was observed that certain
sound frequencies can splinter glass. And the Bible describes how the walls of Jerico
were crumbled by sound.
11. So, the Shruti portion of the Vedas contain mantras, knowing which, one can manipulate
matter. Obviously, this only works when the mantra or the sound is pronounced exactly
right. That's why you need to learn this from a living teacher. Shruti means that which is
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
heard. You have to hear the mantra and learn how to pronounce it, in order for the sound
of the mantra to have the desired effect. For instance, the Bhagavat Purana documents an
event, where the brahmanas or the sages killed king Vena by uttering sounds.
12. Now, the shmriti portion of the Vedas contain the philosophy and theology, the moral and
ethics and the histories of ancient India. Smriti means that which is remembered. You can
learn about philosophy and religion by hearing it from someone who has remembered it.
Your understanding of what is being taught is not dependent on the the correct
pronunciation of the Sanskrit. You simply have to remember it, and it will work even
though you don't utter the language or the words in a certain way.
13. That's also why the Sanskrit of the Vedas is different in the shruti and the shmriti.
14. Some scholars have suggested that it shows the Sanskrit has changed over time, but that
is pure speculation without any support in the Vedic tradition. According to the Vedic
tradition, what is seen is simply two types of Sanskrit in shruti and shmriti.
15. The shruti mantras are to be pronounced exactly precise, in order for them to work. The
shmriti mantras just have to be remembered. Philosophy, theology, religion and history
you remember. Mantras to kill people or to create strong winds and rain, or fire, or
whatever, have to be pronounced exactly correct. Kardama Muni created an entire
mansion in the sky by sound vibrations. That happened in Satya-yuga, several million
years ago when the science of uttering mantras were known to the Vedic sages.

Nagas, ruled by Vasuki. Here live several Nagas with many hoods. Each of their hood
is decorated by a jewel, whose light illuminates this realm.
List of astras[edit]
Astras are most common in the Ramayana and Mahabharata, and feature in the battles described in
each epic. While they typically take the form of arrows, astras could take the form of any object. For
example, Ashvatthama invoked the Brahmashirsha astra into a blade of grass to use as his
weapon.[6][7]

Vedic Cosmology
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
Vedic cosmology is one of five primary topics addressed in ancient Sanskrit histories
known as Puranas. This includes (1) universal creation by the Superconsciousness
(Vishnu), and (2) subsequent creation by Superhuman beings (chiefly Brahma).
1. The Origin of the Universe—the Puranic date for the Big Bang. The generation of this
universe by the Superconsciousness — is 13.819 billion years ago. The current estimate
within the scientific community is 13.801 billion years ago.
2. The age of the sun according to the Puranas is 4.563 billion years. The current estimate
within the scientific community is 4.567 billion years ago.
3. Earth’s greatest mass extinction – the Permian mass extinction is recorded in the
Puranas as happening 251.152 million years ago. The current estimate within the scientific
community is 251.9 million years ago.
In this way, the universal timeline of Vedic cosmology closely matches the timeline of
modern science. In addition, the Puranas accurately describe many, many other
scientific phenomena that have only recently been understood in contemporary
scientific circles, such as:
The sun’s future evolution into a Red Giant, and its ultimate explosion into planetary
nebulae
The various stages of fetal development of a human infant in the womb
The first appearance of life on Earth
The cyclic nature of the Universe
The time period for the initial formation of stars within the Universe
Billions of dollars and trillions of hours went into these scientific discoveries, each
of which was viewed as ground-breaking in its time. But all of this information has been
known to the sages of ancient India since many millenia, long before the technological
advancements took place which enabled contemporary scientists to achieve these
discoveries through arduous research and experimentation.
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
LEARN MORE: Author Sidharth Chhabra has extensively documented the many
scientific proofs for the accuracy and reliability of the Puranic record in his book, The
Big Bang and the Sages.
The Puranas describe a universe teeming with a variety of life. This goes against the
notion that our human race is the only sentient life in space. In the Bhagavad gita it is
said that living beings are sarva-gataḥ — they are everywhere. As consciousness, not
matter, is the fundamental building block of all existence, it makes sense that conscious
life would be found all over the universe.
On this planet earth, lifeforms have been found in even the most extreme of conditions:
In the desert. The Velvet mesquite is a shrub native to Arizona’s sonoran desert, where
the annual rainfall is as low as 3 in. per year. It survives by shooting its roots more than
160 ft. under ground. Another desert plant, the creosote bush, survives by cloning itself.
One bush in California’s Mojave desert is estimated to be 11,700 years old.
Miles under the ocean. The nightmarish fangtooth is a deep-sea aquatic whose habitat
is around 6,500 ft. beneath the ocean’s surface, where temperatures are below -32° F and
the water pressure is 3,000+ psi.
In the stratosphere. Rüppell’s griffon vulture is the highest flying bird on modern
record, with a top flight of 37,000 ft. They can spot carrion on land from thousands of feet
in the air.
The Puranas describe our universe as consisting of three major planes, which are
divided further into fourteen subdivisions. Each region of the universe is inhabited by
different types of living organisms that possess a body suitable for their environment.
The Puranas were compiled by residents of the upper realms within our universe, who
inhabit a multi-dimensional existence much more rarefied and technologically
sophisticated than our planet earth
Taking the plane of the ecliptic and extending it to the edge of our solar system, the
Puranas describe that our Earth planet sits within the universe in the middle of these
fourteen sub-planes, with six higher realms and seven realms below.
In the famous TV series Cosmos, astronomer Carl Sagan admits that the Vedas of India
are the only ancient text “in which the time scales correspond to those of modern
scientific cosmology.” In addition, the well-known Harvard professor Alan Watts
applauded the Vedic point of view for its advanced concepts in physics and space-time:
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
“To the philosophers of India, however, Relativity is no new discovery, just as the
concept of light years is no matter for astonishment to people used to thinking of time
in millions of kalpas.”
Brahma is the first created being within the universe. He is like the CTO of the cosmos,
and he possesses a body composed of information. Brahma is given a blueprint for
creation by Vishnu, and based on this information he proceeds to create the universe, in
accordance with natural laws.
Due to time dilation, Brahma has an experience of time that vastly differs from that of
people on Earth. The life span of Brahma is a mere 100 years, and yet these 100 years
last 333 trillion years of the human race. Each day of Brahma is 4.32 billion of our
human years, or the equivalent of 1,000 kalpas, also known as yuga cycles. At present
we have recentlIn the Bhagavad gita, we find a brief description of Brahma and his role
in the unfolding of the universe:
“By human calculation, a thousand ages taken together form the duration of one day
of Brahma, and such also is the duration of his night. At the beginning of a day of
Brahma, all living entities become manifest from the unmanifest state, and thereafter,
when the night falls, they are merged into the unmanifest again. Again and again,
when the onset of a day of Brahma arrives, all living entities come into being, and with
the arrival of Brahma’s night they are helplessly annihilated.” (Bhagavad gita 8.17-19)
The Bhagavata Purana provides a detailed account of how Brahma divides our solar
system into fourteen layered planes of existence, or lokas, for the various forms of life.
Our Earth planet sits in the middle, and there are six planes above and seven below.
Below is a top-down view of the fourteen lokas:
Satya-loka: This is the plane of existence of Brahma and other highly elevated beings.
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
Tapa-loka: This is the plane directly below Satya-loka, which is home to perfected
yogis.
Jana-loka: On this plane reside the sons of Brahma who are all great sages.
Mahar-loka: This is the plane below Jana-loka, which is also home to great sages,
mystics, and teachers of religion. Residents of this plane regularly descend to our Earth
planet to instruct human beings in religious principles.
Svar-loka: The beings on Svar-loka, also known as Svarga, include the devatas, or
demi-gods who serve as administrative heads of various departments within the solar
system. There are numerous planets within this region and the residents enjoy a
standard of life thousands of times more pleasurable than the richest people on Earth.
Bhuvar-loka: This is the plane inhabited by departed spirits who lacked the merits
required to enter the heavenly realm of Svar-loka. Nonetheless, Bhuvar-loka is more
elevated than our plane of Bhur-loka — planet Earth and its neighboring worlds. As
such, there is far less suffering for the pious souls who take birth on Bhuvar-loka.
Bhur-loka: This plane of existence includes our Earth planet as well as many similar
worlds.
Atala-loka: This is the first sub-plane below the earthly plane. The residents of Atala
also experience an intensified grade of sensual pleasure, like the residents of Svarga.
They have mystic powers and practice a type of black magic.
Vitala-loka: Below Atala is Vitala-loka, where ghosts and other frightening creatures
reside.
Sutala-loka and Talatala-loka: Sutala and Talatala are other sub-earthly realms
where residents enjoy heaven-like pleasures.
Rasatala-loka: Rasatala is home to the Daityas, the enemies of the Demi-gods. They
are powerful beings who live according to the philosophy of “might is right.”
Patala-loka: This is another plane inhabited by the snake-like nagas who enjoy
intoxicating drinks and other substances far more effective than what is available on our
Earth planet.
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
Vedic cosmology describes that beyond this mundane universe is the spiritual universe
of Vaikuntha. There we find a similar hierarchy of planets and variety of living beings,
but the difference is that everyone accepts the preeminence of Vishnu and happily
serves Him, recognizing Him as the source of all consciousness and manifest reality.
Unlike the endless cycle of creation and destruction of the material cosmos, the
Vaikuntha planets are eternal. The inhabitants there never experience birth, disease, old
age, or death. This is the chief distinction between matter and spirit. Matter is
temporarily manifested only to be destroyed, but spirit is eternal. The creation of the
cosmic universe and its eventual annihilation mirrors the creation and destruction of
the individual body inhabited by the spirit soul.
The Bhagavata Purana and other Vedic texts reveal that the spiritual universe of
Vaikuntha contains unlimited spiritual planets, each headed by a form of Vishnu who is
adored and worshiped by the planet’s inhabitants. The competition for power, influence,
and fame that goes on here on Earth is an attempt by the living being to imitate the all-
powerful status of Vishnu. However, such attempts are always doomed to fail, for the
living being cannot withstand the force of time, culminating in death.
Beyond this unlimited spiritual universe filled with Vaikuntha planets, at the very apex
of existence, is the spiritual planet of Goloka Vrindavana, home to the original
Superconscious person, Sri Krishna. According to the Vedas, Krishna is the ultimate
origin of Vishnu, and in Goloka Krishna enjoys supremely sweet activities of love with
His many devotees

The Puranas contain many historical accounts of the history of our universe. The
following articles provide information about the four Puranic ages: Satya Yuga, Treta
Yuga, Dvapara Yuga, and Kali Yuga.
Vaikuntha is an abode exclusive to him, his consort the goddess Lakshmi and other
liberated souls that have gained moksha. They are blessed with pure bliss and happiness in
the company of the supreme being for all eternity. According to Ramanuja, Parama
padam or Nitya Vibhuti is eternal heavenly realm and is the divine imperishable world that is
the God's abode. It is the highest state beyond all worlds and nothing else beyond it.
Version 1
There are 14 "Lokas" or universes mentioned in Hindu scriptures. 6 are below or on one side
of the universe we live in and 7 are above or on the other side.
The 7 universes above are referred to as Bhu:, Bhuva: Suva: Maha: Jana: Thapa: and Satya
Loka. This is there in Gayatri Mantra too. Each door opens to an universe. When you pass
through each of the universe above, after passing through the 7th door, you reach Satya
Loka or the Brahman or Lord Vishnu. I think that is the significance of going through the
Sapta Dwara to get the Darshan of Lord Vishnu.
Version 2
Seven entrances or seven doors are a reference to the mystical plexuses or lotuses of yoga -
the muldhara, svadhisthana, manipura, anahata, visuddha, ajna, and sahasrara. It is only after
one has gone through each one of these lotuses that the Lord is seen.

be effulgent. Many are effulgent in complexion just like coral and diamonds and they blooms
like lotus flowers.
SB 2.9.11: The inhabitants of the Vaikuṇṭha planets are described as having a glowing sky-bluish
complexion. Their eyes resemble lotus flowers, their dress is of yellowish color, and their bodily
features very attractive. They are just the age of growing youths, they all have four hands, they are
all nicely decorated with pearl necklaces with ornamental medallions, and they all appear to be
effulgent.
SB 2.9.12: Some of them are effulgent like coral and diamonds in complexion and have garlands
on their heads, blooming like lotus flowers, and some wear earrings.

(9) There are many airplanes (made of emerald, gold and lapis lazuli) in Vaikuntha being flew by
its inhabitants along with their consorts. While flying the airplanes, the constantly sing the
glories of Lord Vishnu and are always engaged in Harikatha. The whole place is adored with
with blossoming fragnant Madhavi flowers.
SB 3.15.17: In the Vaikuṇṭha planets the inhabitants fly in their airplanes, accompanied by their
wives and consorts, and eternally sing of the character and activities of the Lord, which are
always devoid of all inauspicious qualities. While singing the glories of the Lord, they deride even
the presence of the blossoming mādhavī flowers, which are fragrant and laden with honey.
SB 3.15.20: The inhabitants of Vaikuṇṭha travel in their airplanes made of lapis lazuli, emerald
and gold. Although crowded by their consorts, who have large hips and beautiful smiling faces, they
cannot be stimulated to passion by their mirth and beautiful charms.
SB 3.15.26: Thus the great sages, Sanaka, Sanātana, Sanandana and Sanat-kumāra, upon reaching the
above-mentioned Vaikuṇṭha in the spiritual world by dint of their mystic yoga performance,
perceived unprecedented happiness. They found that the spiritual sky was illuminated by highly
decorated airplanes piloted by the best devotees of Vaikuṇṭha and was predominated by the
Supreme Personality of Godhead.

(10) In Vaikuntha Loka, even beessing Glories of the Lord and whenever the King of the bees
starts singing the glories of Lord Krishna then all the transcendental birds including pigeon,
cuckoo, crane, cakravaka, swan, parrot ,partridge, peacock, etc stops making their own noises
and silently listens to the glories of Lord with utmost devotion.
SB 3.15.18: When the king of bees hums in a high pitch, singing the glories of the Lord, there is a
temporary lull in the noise of the pigeon, the cuckoo, the crane, the cakravāka, the swan, the parrot,
the partridge and the peacock. Such transcendental birds stop their own singing simply to hear
the glories of the Lord.
(11) There are many transcental flowering plants in Vaikuntha like parijata mandāra, kunda,
kurabaka, utpala, campaka, arṇa, punnāga, nāgakeśara, bakula and lily. Out of all of them Tulasi
plants are given special importance because Lord Narayana wears garlands made of Tulasi
leaves and also because Tulasi Mata is one of the wives of Lord Vishnu.
SB 3.15.19: Although flowering plants like the mandāra, kunda, kurabaka, utpala, campaka, arṇa,
punnāga, nāgakeśara, bakula, lily and pārijāta are full of transcendental fragrance, they are still
conscious of the austerities performed by tulasī, for tulasī is given special preference by the Lord,
who garlands Himself with tulasī leaves.

prevail, nor is there any of their influence in goodness. There is no predominance of the
influence of time, so what to speak of the illusory, external energy; it cannot enter that region.
Without discrimination, both the demigods and the demons worship the Lord as devotees.
(19) Vaikuntha realm is beyond darkness and cycles of birth and death. The peaceful ascetic

where the Supreme Lord Nārāyaṇa is manifest. That realm is the destination of renunciants who
have attained peace and given up all violence against other creatures. Going there, one never
returns.

who pass away in the mode of passion remain in the world of human beings, and those dying in the
mode of ignorance must go to hell. But those who are free from the influence of all modes of
nature come to Me.

worlds above this universe?
(33) Sanatkumara said: O great sage, there are worlds above the universe. Please listen. I
shall explain them clearly but briefly.
(34) The world Vaikunta is beyond the world of Brahma. It is here that Vishnu is stationed
and it shines with great brilliance.
(35) Above it is the extremely wonderful world Kaumara. The general Karthikeya, the brilliant
son of Siva shines here.
(36) Beyond that shines the excessively divine world of Uma, where Sakti - the mother of the
three deities shines.
(37) She is the Prakrti, greater than the greatest, with the attributes of Rajas, Sattwa and
Tamas. But the goddess Mahadevi (Sivaa) herself is
(38-39) The eternal Sivaloka is above that. Here lord Siva, the great Brahman, shines. He is
indestructible, excessively divine and endowed with
great brilliance. He is the lord of all, greater than the three attributes. He is the progenitor of
the three deities.
(40) There are no worlds above it. The Goloka is near it. Mother cows named Susilaa are
there. They are favourites of Siva.
(41) The protector of that world is Krsna. He is established there at the behest of Siva by Siva
himself who moves about as he pleases due to
his power.
(42) O Vyasa, Siva's region is wonderful and beautiful. It has no support. It shines with
different objects. It cannot be specifically described.

(43) The presiding deity of that region is Siva. He is the crest jewel of all gods. He is worthy
of being served by Vishnu, Brahma and Rudra.
(44) O dear, thus the situation of the entire universe is narrated to you. What more do you
wish to hear about the position of the worlds.
Our Life blossoms in the womb of the mother and upon taking birth, we experience an immensely rich
and diverse creation here on Mother Earth. An atmosphere of love and care sustains and supports our
growth through different stages of our lives. When these conditions exist, a sumptuous life manifests and
takes root while the absence of these qualities withers away any form of life.
This principle is at work at all levels, from the highest levels of a Universe, Cosmos, Galaxies to the tiny
ecosystem at the base of a forest pond. A Supreme intelligence has lovingly moulded and guided Creation,
just as a caring parent would guide her child through the travails and challenges of life. This divine
Intelligence has long been worshipped as Adi Shakti, the First Energy, out of whom the entire Creation
manifested and expressed itself in all diversity.
The spiritually evolved souls, Rishis, who intuitively understood that there were unseen forces at work
behind existence, probed into these mysteries in their deep meditations. What they perceived about these
benevolent forces, they recorded in the scriptures and passed on as mythological stories. The process of
bringing down new information about these Higher Intelligences and updating the existing knowledge
continues all the time.
The following account of the Supreme Mother, Adi Shakti, has some very new information channelled by
the Rishis along with those facts which are well known. This knowledge, though immensely complex and
mind boggling, has been presented here in simple terms to help in understanding how creation evolved
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
at the highest levels of existence. A major part of the channelled information will be shared later, in an
appropriate format.
Creation of Devi Loka
We’ve seen in the previous article that innumerable eons ago, two huge and powerful fields — Purusha
and Prakruti emerged from ParaBrahma and existed independently. When Purusha continued to grow in
potency and started to disturb the entire Creation with its instability, Prakruti absorbed the core of
Purusha. In course of time, Purusha which continued to grow in strength exploded and spread all over
Creation.
The core of Purusha which was still inside Prakruti began interacting with her and started forming newer
Light fields. Simultaneously more Light was also added to these new fields from the Unmanifested
Universes and ParaBrahma.
These interactions and manifestations resulted in the formation of seven other new fields of Energy which
had Light in their core.
In course of time the seven newly formed fields and the earlier two fields formed an integral unit and they
grew in strength. As their potency increased, this unit too became very strong and unstable. When the
instability grew, the Primordial Intelligence, Mula Brahman, who did not want a repeat of what happened
with Purusha field, intervened. He created 14 different layers in the field and this helped in bringing
stability. In order to organise and also improve the diversity, these layers were further divided into 32,000
dimensions.
This total field of Light and Energies is what we know as Devi Loka. The present understanding of the
Rishis is that Devi Loka comprises of 9 strong Energy fields, arranged into 14 layers which are further
divided into 32,000 dimensions.
The Characteristics of Devi Loka
The nine different Energy fields of Adi Shakti are –
1. Prakruti
2. Purusha
3. Prakruti Samaya
4. Stanakruti Kanda
5. Prakruti Kanda
6. Pralaya StanaNandini
7. Prakruti Pralaya
8. Prakruti Neela Brahmi and
9. Purusha Neela Brahmi.
(We will present the details of these Light fields in a later article)
Apart from these fields, there are 7 pillar like structures in this Cosmos. They are made of a special Light
from ParaBrahma and together, they form a sort of framework for Devi Loka. All the pillars are in the
shape of elongated cones. Four of them are vertically aligned; they start from the borders of ParaBrahma
and extend all the way down. The other three are aligned horizontally.
The Four Vertical pillars have the main function of sustaining and holding all the Energies of Devi Loka
together as one unit. They also create new energies, multiply the existing energies and pass them on to
other Cosmoses when required and maintain an appropriate proportion of all the energies in order to
bring stability. Apart from taking care of the overall protection of Devi Loka, these pillars also monitor
some aspects of other Lokas that manifested out of this Cosmos.
Two of the horizontal pillars help in manifesting and radiating the motherly qualities of love, affection and
nurturing throughout the entire Loka. The seventh pillar is the most important of all. It helps Devi to
perform all her actions, oversees her functioning and helps in Her activities of creation, protection and
destruction.
Mahameru
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
Devi Loka is in the shape of the Mahameru Chakra, as shown in the diagram. This three dimensional
structure is worshipped as a representation of Devi. Many ancient temples in India which worship
different aspects of Devi usually have the MahaMeru Chakra, as this draws a lot of energies from Devi
Loka.
The two dimensional form of Maha meru is known as Sri Chakra. As the energies drawn by MahaMeru are
very strong, individual households worship Sri Chakra as this connects only to the milder energies of Devi
Loka.
The MahaMeru Chakra consists of a Bindu (dot) in the centre, surrounded by nine intersecting triangles.
This is further surrounded by a lotus with 8 petals, followed by another lotus with 16 petals.
The Bindu at the centre represents the core — the Light field of Devi Loka. The nine triangles stand for
the nine different energy fields, while the eight-petal lotus represents the eight special energies of Adi
Shakti which are used for further manifestations. The lotus with sixteen petals signifies the protective
layers around Adi Shakti.
Different Aspects of Adi Shakti
Adi Shakti, as we know, is the first form to emerge in Creation, from the core of Devi Loka. This form has
further expressed itself in various other aspects, each representing a particular set of characteristics.
These aspects can also be understood as individual intelligences which have been perceived by the
spiritually evolved souls over eons and eons of existence. So far, only the first three aspects have been
well known and also expressed in the ancient scriptures and mythology.
The Rishis say that there are 10 main aspects of Devi that they are aware of. They are:
1. Maha Gowri (Durga/Parvathi)
2. Maha Lakshmi
3. Maha Saraswathi
4. Mula Devi
5. Devi Brahmi
6. Tejas Brahmi
7. Swaroopini
8. Shakti Swaroopini
9. Mangala Devi
10. Mangala Adi Devi
(We will present the details of these different aspects of Devi in a later article)
Different Energies inside Devi Loka
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
Devi Loka is primarily made of a dark pink matter called Vignana. This divine matter contains all the Light
fields and various energies within it. Two special energies called ‘Multiplying energy’ and ‘Creative
Energy’ are spread all over Devi loka. These energies are light pink coloured and together with Vignana,
they give a dark pink hue to the atmosphere of Devi Loka.
Devi Loka also has thousands of different Energies, most of which are in the colour range from Violet to
Red. The quality and function of each is different from the others. The most prominent among these are:
Dark Pink: These are the most predominant energies which are found all over the Cosmos. They give the
motherly aspect to Devi. These energies are very nurturing and filled with unconditional Love.
Light Pink: These energies are full of healing qualities.
Violet : These energies have the qualities of love, righteousness and justice. They also have a lot of healing
qualities.
Purple: The Purple energies help the entire Devi Loka to maintain its shape and prevent the energies of
the Cosmos from getting dispersed. They also act as a filter to process the various other energies that enter
and exit Devi Loka.
Dark Grey: These were specially created by Adi Shakti after the entire Creation was manifested. She
created them to destroy all darkness and evil. So far, these energies have been used 8 times on our Earth.
Apart from these primary coloured ones, there are Golden, Lavender, Lime Yellow and Orange coloured
energies which help in various functions like connecting Devi Loka to other Universes, creating newer
energies etc.

Life in Devi Loka
Creation simplifies as it manifests further and further down, starting from the highest levels of Mula
Brahman. The life that we’re familiar with in the Material cosmos and in our Earth is probably one of the
simplest, highly diversified and easily understandable to us at present. Naturally creation in the higher
divine Cosmoses or Universes and the way of Life that has evolved in them is quite complex and difficult
to comprehend with our current levels of understanding. The following account revealed by the Rishis
gives a simple bird’s eye view of Life in Devi Loka.
The atmosphere of Devi Loka is made of a divine matter called as Vignana or Intellect Matter. The Entire
cosmos radiates with an unconditional motherly Love. Many precious stones and rare gems are present
in the Space of Devi Loka. These gems are larger than our Galaxies! They hold and sustain further life and
diversifications, the way Galaxies do in our Cosmos. They also hold large quantities of the energies of Devi
Loka.
This atmosphere also contains innumerable transparent particles with various characteristics. One of its
properties is that it helps in the efficient functioning of Intuition in the Human System. There are many
special energies in the atmosphere which can be accessed directly by all Humans. Since these energies
give special powers and capabilities to the individuals, the Tantrics and Siddhas connect to these special
energies through their rituals, in order to gain such powers.
The Souls of Devi Loka are created at its core and are filled with the special Light from this core. Many of
these souls have also incarnated in the Material Cosmoses and the Rishis say that about 20 % of the Souls
in our Material Cosmos are from Devi Loka. These individuals usually have most of their characteristics
similar to that of Devi.
The Souls living in Devi Loka are always filled with divine love and are connected to Devi all the time. A
very high form of life exists there, though it’s not as diverse as it is on our Earth. No evil or negativity exists
in Devi Loka. The Souls live only in their causal bodies and stay in Devi Loka for some specific reasons
rather than to experience Creation. They have very important roles to execute in Creation.
Not much is known or revealed about Life or the diversification of existence in Devi Loka. As we progress
further into the New Age and as humanity evolves spiritually, we’ll be able to know and understand more
about this knowledge.
The Role of Adi Shakti in Creation
All further manifestation from ParaBrahma has occurred because of Adi Shakti. She helps in the total
monitoring and caretaking of Manifestation. All the major and important decisions regarding Creation are
referred to this Higher Intelligence and then executed.
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
As creation continued further and diversified, Adi Shakti played an important role in bringing these
creations into existence, so that complex life forms could evolve gradually for various souls to inhabit
them and experience life. In course of time, the other Manifested Universes and Unmanifested Universes
too sought Her advice, guidance and energies in bringing forth their own levels of Creation. The Primordial
Intelligence, Mula Brahman has a close fondness for Adi Shakti and has taken Her help many times.
We’ve seen earlier that Light simplifies as Creation manifests further down from the Universes to the
Cosmoses, and later this Light tones down to energy and matter. This process is executed by Adi Shakti so
that Light flows into Creation as simpler energies for all life to absorb and utilise them.
The concept of birth and death in Creation is the result of Devi’s Intelligence. She was the one to decide
that the female of every species would give birth to the offspring. This birth and death concept hasn’t
evolved into a profound reality in other manifestations out of ParaBrahma (apart from Devi), where any
part of a living being’s body can regenerate and form the complete body.
When the Souls from other Universes want to take birth in any of the manifestations of ParaBrahma, they
have to be approved by Adi Shakti. She scrutinises them and decides if they can descend down to take
birth and experience Life here. Devi Loka is also the place where the Intellectual sheath or Vignanamaya
Kosha is manufactured. Every Soul which descends through Devi Loka acquires the intellectual sheath
from here.
The basic gifts to every Soul — Love and Freewill are the results of Adi Shakti’s initiative. It’s because of
Her love for every Soul that freewill exists in all of Creation. She is the source for various arts like music,
dance, painting etc, which bring diversity to life and enrich it.
Adi Shakti assists the Rishis all the time in their works with Her Energies. Most of the efficient tantrics and
siddhas have a lot of energies in their system from Devi Loka. The concept of gadgets and energy capsules
has also come from Her.
Further Manifestations from Devi Loka
After Devi Loka came into existence, Para Brahma manifested further with the help of Mula Brahman by
using the energies of Prakruti and Purusha. He wanted to express most of His potential through these
manifestations and hence have a very diverse Creation. Adi Shakti is in charge of this manifestation
process.
For this purpose, She first created three new levels of existence. Each of these three levels expressed
themselves as three huge Energy fields, with very distinct characteristics. One level of existence helped
Her create further, while the second level helped in governing and maintaining the Creations. The third
level assisted in destroying and withdrawing Creation when required. These three levels are what we
know as Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva — the Creator, Sustainer and Destroyer.
All Creation emerged further through these three new levels of existence. Other than these, there are 32
manifestations which have emerged from Adi Shakti. Each of them have completely different
characteristics and properties. The details of these 32 other new manifestations will be explained later.
From Adi Shakti, the first major manifestation to emerge was Shiva Loka or Kailasa. The details of this
Loka will be shared in the next article in this series.

‘OM’ is one of the most sacred Mantras in existence. It represents the Primodial God. When repeated, this
mantra connects us directly to Parabrahma and His energies.
A lot has been written and understood about this sacred syllable. Our scriptures say that Lord Brahma, in
the course of His creation, created a huge empty space — the Material cosmos. Then at different points in
this space, He created the sound Om and from these points, huge Galaxies emerged. And it’s the humming
vibration of Om which gives the dynamism and movement to the Galaxies of our Universe. In fact, any
movement, from the highest galactic level to the revolution of electrons around the nucleus inside an atom
is powered by the vibrations of OM.
‘OM’ is also the root for many other words, many other mantras. The attributes of God — Omnipresent,
Omniscient and Omnipotent are derived from Om. All mantras originate from Om. A mantra like ‘Om
Namah Shivaya’, literally means, ‘O Lord Shiva, who has come out of the Supreme God (OM), make me
Egoless (namaha)’.
When the Rishis perceived the knowledge about the Unmanifested Universes and the Greater Light, Mula
Brahman, some new information about the unknown aspects of OM was also revealed. In this article, let
us try to understand more about these hitherto unknown attributes of OM.
Where did ‘OM’ emanate from?
Rishis say that this divine word and power, ‘OM’ was created by the primordial God, Mula Brahman
Himself!
When Mula Brahman came into existence, He wanted everything that he manifested and created to be
united, to always be one with each other. Among His various initial creations, Sound had also manifested
and after a lot of experimentation, Mula Brahman perceived that his entire creation could be One through
the vibration of Sound.
He continued the experimentations to find the perfect Sound. He understood that the sound should have
the following attributes to meet his goal:
1. It should be of a single syllable so that it can make the whole creation ‘One’. It should be simple and un-
complicated.
2. He also wanted this Sound to represent Him and using this Sound, anybody should be able to connect
to him easily.
After a lot of experimentation, he felt very satisfied and impressed with the vibrations of the syllable ‘OM’.
And as soon as OM took birth, it provided beautiful additions to HIS creation.
As God manifested and created ‘OM’, he infused it with the following meaning– “All manifestation will be
One with each other and in turn the entire manifestation will be linked to Me. Let the entire manifestation
be humble and linked with oneness and surrender.”
OM particles
When God created OM, there was no creation or layers, no galaxies or dimensions. When Om manifested,
it created innumerable radiant particles, which were humming with the vibrations of ‘Om’. These are the
Om particles and they constitute more than three-fourths of Mula Brahman.
Many of these particles later came down as the Unmanifested Universes.
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
The Mantra – OM
A Mantra is a combination of sounds which, when repeated, connects us to an energy field and helps us
derive energies from that field. Rishis say that OM is the most divine and sacred word in God’s creation.
They say that this word connects us to our Source God, ParaBrahma directly.
When Om is pronounced (with a deep breath, repeat a long ascending OOOOO followed by a descending
humming mmmmmm…) the first part ‘O’ symbolises God’s manifestation. There is a long phase of creation
and then a withdrawal. The initial part of the pronunciation represents this creation and withdrawal of
God’s manifestation. The ‘mmm’ in the end represents the manifestation that has taken place between
creation and withdrawal.
In Sanskrit, Om is represented by the symbol ॐ. There is a detailed explanation to what this represents
but briefly – the two curves of ‘3’ signifies that everybody is equal. Also, it represents
manifestation/withdrawal of Creation and also the birth/mukti of the Soul.
The second part of the symbol which has the 2 curves and the dot – the lower curve represents surrender
– complete surrender to God. The upper curve represents our Soul and the dot represents God. So this
expresses that when we surrender completely, our Soul is connected to God.
A Special Master
Among the Om particles, there was one very bright particle which did not want to become a Universe.
That particle wanted to explore creation and serve God. Mula Brahman was very surprised by the love
and affection of this bright particle and granted its wish.
This particle gathered more Light and it became brighter and brighter and when manifestation happened,
this Soul took birth and continues to serve God.
This master is Vasishtha Maharshi.
Accessing energies from the Om particles
Rishis say that so far only a few masters have been able to access the energies of ‘Om’ particles. Through
the grace of God, the Rishis have the technique to access these energies.
They are waiting for the Light Age to fully set in and the individuals to qualify, so that they can pass on
these rare energies to humanity.
* * *
‘Om’ can be repeated aloud, in whispers or silently. The silent repetition is most effective in stilling our
minds and connecting us to the source, God. As we repeat, if we can feel the humming vibrations of this
syllable in every cell of our body, we can easily sense the serenity and peace it carries.
And when we are aware that this sacred syllable also represents the Unity of God’s manifestation, the
repetition helps us experience the oneness that is inherently present everywhere.
destroy all the Manifested and Unmanifested Gods. We can acquire these energies only for a very higher
spiritual purpose. Rishis says that this Avyakta Brahman does not participate much in Mula Brahman’s
works.
He has 68 sisters and 72 brothers.
7. Pushpa Amrutha Prakasha Tejas Avyakta Brahman
His energies are yellow in colour and He has a lot of magical powers within Him. This Avyakta Brahman
is pyramidal in shape.

For a large number of years, Lord Shiva has been worshipped by people all over the world.
His energy has been utilized for the advancement and development of Mankind. He is
viewed as the Lord of the Universe and even the God of the Gods in the Sanatana Dharma. It
is in the Shiva Purana that discusses, inside and out, about his origins and his exploits of
divine persona. He is additionally a part of a rich Indian culture of art, dance, and music.
Many devotional traditional dances have developed around the dances of Shiva, while
Nagas and Tantrics center around the energies.
His part in divine creation is of most extreme significance as he pulls back and changes
manifestations at various time-spans. At the point when Rishis meditated on his divine
personality, they have seen interesting information about Shiva and have conceived
procedures to expand his powers to assist mankind. The following record from the Rishis
gives us incredible insights and data as well.
The Creation
With them, the diversification of the manifestation increased rapidly. But that's not the only
reason for their manifestation. When the Devi manifested the worlds, they were so pure
that it couldn't hold the strong and divine energy. Thus, with the trinity, the intensity and
energy also reduced as per an article on VedicFeed.
To make the divine Cosmos, Shiva Loka (Sadashivaloka), she made a solid, dominant field
of energy, which is called the Vectrum Diamond Principle by Rishis.
Hindus worship Shiva as the linga, rather than worshipping His personality. Pixabay
1008 Cosmos manifested in total from the Vectrum Diamond Principle. Each was unique,
the decision of which was established by Mula Brahman to introduce diversity at the
highest level.
Other than the Shiva Lokas, other manifestations emerged too, which in turn gave birth to
further other cosmoses. Be that as it may, the Vecturm Diamond Principle is just practical
for the 1008 Shiva Lokas. Inside these Shiva Lokas, Vectrum Diamond Principle assists with
making new matter and protects it.
Yet, the energy of the field is incredibly powerful that other progressed spirits attempt to
connect with it so they can gain special powers. The principle shields it from them as well.
The principle likewise shields Shiva Loka from different manifestations of Devi that is more
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
powerful than the Shiva Lokas, and that can negatively affect them. It is somewhat a shield
that protects them all.
Among these 1008 Shiva Lokas, the one creation that made us is the Kailasa, and
accordingly, the Cosmos that we exist in is known as Kailasa Shiva.
This whole field of Shiva Loka has 8 concentric layers, each layer is in the form of a Linga,
and can additionally be separated into 108 planes. Inside the Shiva Loka, there are
complex, various units, with floating particles spread over the universe. Besides, there are
exceptional cells in geometric shapes that are smart and can make new energies, and new
strategies that tackle issues at different levels of existence.
The Dimension
There are two circular rings at the bottom of the Linga shape of the field. They are the two
dimensions of Shiva Loka. The inner one is whitish blue, and the other one is dark blue. It is
the base for the entire Shiva Loka.
The inward ring is known as Adi and has unique energies of Shiva. It is made out of
permeable matter. The external ring, then again, has energies of Ardhanarishvara, a blend
of Shiva and Parvati. It contains the viscous matter, and accordingly acts like the defender
or the channel in the cosmos that retains all the negative energies that enter it.
There is a passage that prompts all parts of creation in that ring as well. The spirits that
come from Devi Loka to Shiva Loka dwell on these rings for a long time, understanding the
decisions they need to reincarnate into the creation. From that point forward, the
characters change concerning their objective and in this manner are guided further.
The Energies
Shiva Loka's essential energy color is light blue, while different shades of blue are
additionally predominant. Other colors exist as well, however, they have a lower share in
proportion. Despite that, all the colors convey unconditional love and generosity.
Different other energies in the Shiva Loka exist as well, and they can even assist us to
facilitate our internal facilities. These can be sources of amazingly strong energies and
siddhis that Tantriks can obtain with profound Sadhana.
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018

A striking element of this energy is that it can multiply itself. Thus, regardless of whether a
little amount propagates through you, it can make a tremendous field of energy with the
approval of Shiva.
The other element is that the segments of the energies change periodically, relating to the
Mahayuga of Earth, and bringing about new constituencies each time with the various
changes in the manifestations that emerged through Shiva Loka.
There are even uncommon devices in Shiva Loka and the scents help the gadgets to get
appropriately tuned to keep up the Linga shape of the Cosmos.
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
There are additionally Shiva Ganas, unique spirits made by Shiva to help him in his work.
Each has their work and have some expertise in finishing them. These Ganas are
additionally responsible to teach individuals about Shiva and spread through the Shiva
energy when needed. Approximately 3/4th of the whole works of Shiva is done by Shiva
Ganas.

Nandi has a great amount of Shiva's energy put inside him. Thus, Shiva consistently
cooperates and examines a great deal of work together before executing them. He is the
one answerable to deal with all the Shiva Ganas and is additionally the fundamental
channel through which energies and love from Lord Shiva flow to the creation and
mankind. Maybe this is the reason why there is a sculpture of the bull facing the Shiva Linga
in all the Shiva temples.
Nageshwara is likewise responsible to protect Shiva during his work. He is the snake that
encloses Shiva's neck and protects the weak region. He guarantees that nothing can affect
Shiva during his work.
It is a special layer in Shiva Loka. The Rishis claim that a large number of galaxies, similar to
units, unique spirits, and Ganas exist in the layer, and it is the place numerous new energies
are made. It is additionally the layer from where knowledge is moved. Our cosmic system is
said to have risen out of his third eye, as per Rishis.

The Destroyer
Unlike Devi, Shiva doesn't have different aspects, though he is depicted in various forms.
And the core personality of the Shiva Loka is Lord Shiva. Everything that manifests from
the cosmos was initially created by Devi to assist in withdrawing and destroying creation at
various stages too. And destruction is an important part of creation since birth and death is
a profound reality. It is the cycle through which there is a balance in manifestation. The role
of Shiva is to destroy the creation when required. But the function is not only limited to
that. He is the one who destroys creation, along with evil, negativity, stagnation of life. The
destruction doesn't necessarily mean death and pain, but also transformation towards the
light.
Thus, with the manifestations through Shiva, there are a ton of continuous changes
happening that delivers the abundance of new changes throughout everyday life.
Be that as it may, he doesn't intrude on the creation until it is totally necessary. He destroys
when it is important. Additionally, he does it in the correct proportion. After finishing the
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
destruction cycle, he utilizes the energies from the destroyed manifestation to make new
devices.
He engages with the Rishis to show them the correct path, and offer hope, energy, and love.
There are accounts of how he has incarnated on earth to help Rishis when out of luck.
When he has completed his works, he returns but leaves the energy so other souls can be
impacted by his positive energy. There is additionally the tale about how he lived on Mount
Kailash in the Himalayas, and how Rishis went to the spot to be in contact with his stories.
They claim that about 75% of his energies existed at the spot until 1974. But, when the
Pralaya started, a great amount of these energies moved to different spots. Today, the
Rishis say that the measure of energy remaining maybe around 2% at Mount Kailash.
Shiva also has numerous uncommon gadgets that destroy evil powers. The remarkable
feature about his Gadgets is that if some spirit attempts to misuse it, at that point it gets
powerless on its own. A considerable lot of the gadgets have originated from Shiva Loka, as
indicated by the Rishis.

It is additionally said that when a spirit incarnates into creation, the gender is chosen while
picking the mind in Brahman Loka. Pinterest
He likewise takes help from Goddess Parvati to make new energies. He moves with a ton of
healing energies that have the ability to destroy any reason for disorder or chronic
weakness.
It is additionally said that when a spirit incarnates into creation, the gender is chosen while
picking the mind in Brahman Loka. In the event that the spirit picks the female mind, at
that point, Shiva passes a ton of energies from Devi Parvati onto them.
He also has the ability to expand the life of an individual soul in the material universe,
however, they are observed by the Rishis.
What we think about Shiva is just founded on one Shiva Loka; there are 1007 Shiva Lokas
that have manifested out of Devi, with the utilization of the Vectrum Diamond Principle. In
this way, there must be numerous different capacities that Shiva can have.
Everything in nutshell
The multifaceted nature of the manifestation in the whole universe isn't totally
understandable by a normal human brain. Rishis claim this to be the "Leela" of supreme
intelligence. However, what can be perceived is that He brings creation, permits us to
encounter life in the creation in this Cosmos, and afterward pulls back it to draw out some
other form.
The divine characters have their positions to handle as well. They aid the organization and
support of the manifestations through which the spirits enter in their journey and advance
through these Lokas. It is Shiva who pulls back and changes the creation and changes
individual spirits as well. His energy is very incredible and the spirits can utilize it for
negative or positive causes as well. Any spirit has the ability to connect up with Shiva
himself, and through which they can get energies, information, and proper direction.
earlier religious preachers. Along with the age of triple gods, we will also tell the age of
their father and grandfather.
The earth where we are living is perishable. This is the region of Devil also known as
Brahm - Kaal. Nothing in this region is everlasting. Holy scriptures like Rigved Mandal
no.10 Sukt 90 Mantra 2 & 3; Atharvaveda Kand no. 4 Anuvak no.1 Mantra no.1, 3, and
4 and Shrimad Bhagawad Gita provide evidence that in the path of devotion there are
three unmanifested / invisible Gods.
1. Kshar Purush/Brahm
2. Akshar Purush/ParBrahm
3. Param Akshar Purush/PuranBrahm
Let us begin to explain the first unmanifested God ie. Brahm - Kaal and what is his set-
up in the universe?.
Ref: Kabir Sagar Chapter "Swasamved Bodh" page no. 96 and "Shwansh Gunjar" page no. 21 and
"Anurag Sagar" page no. 26 and Sukshma Veda
Brahm-Kaal is a devil who is the owner of only twenty-one universes which are mortal.
He is a deceiver who is punished due to his misconduct. He is being cursed by Almighty
KavirDev to eat grime of one-lacs subtle human bodies every day and produce 1.25
lacs every day, therefore, he remains unmanifested/invisible. He is the husband of
Goddess Durga, and the father of Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva (Mahesh/Rudra). Brahm-Kaal,
Goddess Durga and his 21 universes are not eternal but their age is very long. For
details please read How Souls were Caught in Kaal's Trap
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
Before explaining the age of Brahm-Kaal let us brief the readers about his three sons
and what is their age?
Evidence from pious Shrimad Devi Bhagwat and pious Shiv Mahapuran state that Gods
of Hindu triumvirate are in the cycle of birth and death. They are not immortal. The
same evidence is also provided in the pious Shrimad Bhagavad Gita.
One day of Brahma = 1000 (one thousand) Chaturyuga (four yugas) and the same is
the duration of the night.
{Note: - In one day of Brahma Ji, the term of rule of 14 Indra ends. The term of rule of
one Indra is 72 Chaturyuga. Therefore, in reality, one day of Brahma Ji is of 72 × 14 =
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
1008 Chaturyuga, and the same is the duration of the night, but for sake of simplicity it
is taken as one thousand Chaturyuga only.}
Age of Brahma - 720000 × 100 = 72000000 (seven crore twenty lakh) chaturyuga.
the responsibility of the Tamogun department in the twenty-one universes of his father
Jyoti Niranjan (Kaal). He is portrayed as a hermit being dressed in animal skins with
dreadlocked hair. He destroys as his role is to prepare food for his father, Brahm-Kaal.
For details please read Shiv Puran.
Note: The present Brahma who is seated on the position of the head of the Rajogun
department has attained the age of 50 years. He is running in his 51st year. Brahm-Kaal
and Durga residing in the form of MahaBrahma and MahaSavitri in their secret region
‘Brahamlok’ act as husband-wife, they create and keep one pious and eligible soul in a
coma there till present Brahma completes his tenure. Then they make that soul-
conscious and provide the responsibility of the Rajogun department. The current
Brahma dies and goes in 84 lakh life forms in different species. He enjoys pleasures in
heaven also bears the pain in hell and takes birth as a human.
The same happens with Vishnu and Shiva; after completing their tenure the next eligible
soul is given the responsibility of the respective department. In the form of MahaVishnu
and MahaLakshmi, they create the next Vishnu and in the form of MahaShiv and
MahaParvati, they give birth to the next Shiva. Then these three further do creation,
preservation, and destruction in 21 universes. This vicious cycle continues in the region
of Shaitan-Kaal.
Having understood the age of Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva now we will calculate the age of
their father, the first unmanifested God ie. Brahm-Kaal.
In Gita chapter 2 verse 12 to his own self Brahm-Kaal says ‘he is mortal’
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
This proves that the owner of 21 universes who has one-thousand arms (Rigveda
Mandal no. 10 Sukt 90 Mantra no.1) is so powerful yet he is in the cycle of birth and
death.
Age: After the death of 70,000 (seventy thousand) Trilokiye Shiv, there is death of one
Brahmlokiye MahaShiv i.e. SadaShiv-Kaal (Brahm).
Translation: One day of ParBraham, one who knows that one thousand years
yugas/age duration also the night of one thousand years yugas/age duration by the
element. That knower of the element of day and night is the Tatvadarshi (enlightened)
Saint.
Note - In the translation of Gita chapter 8 verse 17 other translators have mentioned
one day of Brahma of one thousand ‘Chaturyuga’ which is not correct because in the
original text ‘Sahasra-yuga’ is written not ‘Chaturyuga’. It has been written ‘brahmaṇH’
not ‘Brahma’. In this Shloka 17; it has been mentioned about ParBrahm (Akshar
Purush) and not about Brahma. Due to the lack of true spiritual knowledge, these
ignorants have distorted the correct meaning.
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
When one Brahm (Kaal / Kshar Purush) dies it is one yug of ParBrahm. Such one
thousand yugas make one day of ParBrahm (Akshar Purush) and the same is the
duration of a night. This means two-thousand yugas.
After the end of one day of ParBrahm, 21 universes of Brahm-Kaal are destroyed. Then
Brahm-Kaal and Prakriti Devi (Durga) die. After the end of one night of ParBrahm
(which is of one thousand yugas); and at the beginning of his day; the rebirth happens
of Brahm-Kaal and Durga. Then, they do the creation in one brahmand (universe) as
earlier. In this way, one day of ParBrahm (Akshar Purush) is one thousand yugas and
the same are nights.
Important: After the death of seven ‘Trilokiye’ Brahma (Rajogun equipped son of
Brahm-Kaal) one ‘Trilokiye’ Vishnu Ji dies and after the death of seven ‘Trilokiye’ Vishnu
(Satogun equipped son of Brahm-Kaal) one ‘Trilokiye’ Shiva (Tamogun equipped son of
Brahm-Kaal) dies. After the death of such 70,000 (seventy thousand that is 0.7 lacs)
‘Trilokiye’ Shiva one ‘Brahmlokiye’ MahaShiva (SadaShiv that is Brahm-Kaal) dies. One
yuga (age) of ParBrahma (Akshar Purush) is equal to the age of one ‘Brahmlokiye’
MahaShiva. After the death of such one-thousand yugas (age) that is one thousand
‘Brahmlokiye’ Shiva (Brahm-Kaal himself resides in Brahmlok in MahaShiv form) the
twenty-one universes of Brahm-Kaal destroy. Therefore, it has been mentioned here,
one day of ParBrahm which is of one thousand yugas (age) and similar are the nights.
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
The bottom line is that despite having such huge ages, they all are still in birth
and death.
Conclusion: This human body made up of five elements will destroy one day. This is
definite. There is no trace of peace and happiness in this perishable world of
Satan/Brahm-Kaal. Therefore, this is the advice to all; if you also want to attain the
eternal peace and the same highly radiant body made up of just one element
‘Nooritatva’ which is non-perishable and want to get rid of the long illness of birth and
rebirth and want a permanent residence in ‘Shashwat Param Dham’ ie ‘Satlok’ then take
refuge of great Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj. Take initiation, do true worship of supreme
God, KavirDev, and become eligible for the attainment of salvation.
The Puranas are one of the three widely known sets of texts in the Hindu faith,
along with the Vedas and the Itihasas. Vedic hymns are recited at significant
events in a person’s life cycle–such as naming ceremony, marriage and others.
The Itihasas are considered history, a record of what happened. The authors of
the two Itihasas, Maharishi Vyasa and Valmiki, were not just alive during the
time of the epics but were themselves a part of the narrative. The Itihasas have
been translated, abridged, widely read and analyzed. The Puranas, however,
have not attracted as much attention. For the most part, they have been mined
for their amazing stories and their dharmic and cultural symbolisms.
My reading of the Puranic texts began with the Matsya Purana. I wasn’t sure of
what to expect, probably a collection of stories about the various divinities. The
Matsya Purana turned out to be of a text of great sophistication and kept me so
engrossed that I went on to study the Shiva and the Bhagavata Puranas as
well.
It was hard to find the translations of the other Puranas, so I had to download
and print scanned PDFs of old publications to continue my journey. As I read
on, it became apparent that the Puranas were more than just a collection of
charming stories. I have had a fascination with the space sciences and
cosmology since my days at school. The resonance of these stories with current
science was becoming increasingly difficult to explain away as just
happenstance.
On the Lifecycle of Sun: A significant set of stories in the Puranic texts relates
to the sun. The lifecycle of a star such as our sun, as understood by science,
consists of five stages. They are birth, wild youth (yes, even stars do have
them), the current mature stage, the Red Giant stage and finally, death as a
White Dwarf.
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
The last two stages of the Red Giant and the White Dwarf are straight out
descriptions in the Puranas. The implications of a Red Giant Sun for our planet
is currently an area of investigation for science. For this to be discussed in eye-
watering detail in a text of this antiquity is staggering.
Let us take the example of the Red Giant stage of the Sun. Scientists today
hold forth that the sun will enter this stage in about 5 billion years and could
grow up to 100 times its current size. Current models suggest that the sun’s orb
is likely to envelop Mercury and Venus and come close to the earth, making the
planet earth extremely hot. The adjacent image (source: phys.org) is an artist’s
impression of the Red Giant sun close to the planet Earth.
The Puranas term the sun in this stage as the Samvartakaditya, the ‘sun that
destroys the world.’ The Brahmanda Purana’s description of the sun heating
the earth starts with the planet experiencing a severe drought. As a result of
this, many of the animals and plants die and are turned to dust.
As this Sun grows in size, it gets closer to the earth, further heating it. Due to
the heat, the water in the oceans turns to vapor.
136b -140. Seven rays of the sun that blazes in the sky sucking up water,
drink water from the great ocean.
Heated by the Sun, the earth slowly becomes a blazing red ball, similar to the
artist's impression in the image above.
157b-159. Getting the fiery splendour transmitted to it, the entire universe
slowly assumes the form of a huge block of iron and shines thus.
(Brahmanda Purana, Book III, Section iv, Ch. 1)
The verses above are a sample from an extensive passage in the Brahmanda
Purana. The level of detail in the text is astounding.
Following this, we have the Sun collapsing to become a White Dwarf. It leads
to torrential rains and the submergence of the planet in Ekarnava, the one vast
ocean.
The Story of the Moon: The Puranas similarly have many references to the
Moon. Many of us may recall the story of the Moon, having 27 wives.
21. Daksa, the son of Pracetas, gave in marriage to the Moon the twenty-
seven Daksayanis (daughters of Daksa) of great holy rites, whom they
know as the stars. (Brahmanda Purana, Book II, Section iii, Ch. 65)
The path of the Moon’s orbit around the Earth is divided into 27 equal parts in
the Indian Nakshatra system. The lunar month is 27.3 days, and 27 is the
nearest whole number. The Moon is seen every dawn next to a
new nakshatra. This is taken to mean it had spent the night with that nakshatra,
with that wife! Hence the story of the moon having 27 wives, the 27 nakshatra.
The scientific view is that the Moon originated from the impact of a
smaller Mars-sized planet with the earth. This is called the Giant Impact
hypothesis. The cataclysmic collision resulted in a large cloud of debris that
orbited the earth. Over time, the dust in this cloud clumped together to form the
moon. The adjacent illustrations (source: OpenLearn) are a simulation of the
last two stages of this event. This is a field of study that is not considered settled,
and this hypothesis has a few variants.
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
A Moon that is always in one place in the sky (close to one star) is a Moon
headed towards the earth. The debris of the resulting collision spreads in a
region of space called the Kshiroda Sagara. This region of space is ‘churned’
to make the Moon manifest again. This is a complex story and is explained in
some detail in a new book, I have just published.
The book is titled ‘From the Beginning of Time.’ It examines the universe of the
Puranas in five parts. These are the Sun, the Moon, the Earth, the Bhumandala
and the Lokas (Deva and Patala loka). The descriptions of the five parts create
a collage of the Puranic universe. The story of the descent of the Ganga links
to these narratives and demonstrates that they are not just disparate accounts.
The Extraterrestrial Origins of Ganga: The Ganga is not just the river that is
much revered in India. The story of its descent to the Earth is really the story of
the extraterrestrial origin of the Earth’s waters, as understood by modern
science. The models describing the early Earth suggest it would have been too
hot to hold liquid water on its surface.
The Puranas also have the well-known story of the Ganga being brought down
from the heavens as a result of King Bhagirath’s penance. The waters are held
in an intermediate region, the “matted locks” of Shiva, who then releases the
waters so they can safely reach the earth.
As mentioned earlier, the scientific perspective is that the Earth’s waters have
extraterrestrial origins. In light of this, the Herschel Space Observatory, a
project of the European Space Agency, has been chartered to track down the
sources of water in space. Here is a note from its website:
A class of comets originates from the Kuiper Belt headed towards the sun.
When some of these enter the earth’s atmosphere, the heat of entry vaporizes
the ice, which later falls to the earth as rain. The Oort Cloud, which is much
further out, is hypothesized to have a different class of comets, also containing
water. And so, we have water being held in an intermediate region of space
surrounding the earth and safely reaching our planet in the form of comets, as
described in the Puranas.
The narrative for each part is, at first, tested for two attributes: their ability to be
as close to the current day scientific perspective as the interpretation of the
texts will allow and to stand as a coherent and plausible sequence of events. A
third test is to see if these five narratives work well with each other. The book
concludes with additional validation using external sources. The various events
in the Puranas have been sequenced on a timeline, from the start of the Varaha
Kalpa, the current creation. When this is compared to what we can infer from
the geological records, the level of correlation is surprising.
The book thus looks at Puranic texts through the lens of modern science. The
Puranic narratives often align with current science, but there are also a few
divergences. That said, science itself is not static. The book makes the case
that if this exploration had been carried out about 200 years ago, most of
what current day science tells us regarding the lifecycle of the Sun or the origin
of the Moon, would not have been known to “scientists” of that era. Therefore,
Puranic stories regarding the origin of the Universe would all have been seen
as flights of fantasy or spinning a mythology.
But now that current day scientists know lot better, they would benefit a great
deal by taking cues from Puranic texts to further their scientific research on
these vital issues. This would in turn steer us away from some of the more
frivolous interpretations of Puranas and help us sift the grain from chaff. I do not
profess to be an expert in all the cosmological sciences. But I do believe that a
creative conversation between modern day science and the metaphorical
language of science embedded in the Puranas will be of benefit to both. As a
result of this process, a new framework for scientific enquiry may well evolve to
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
help uncover the scientific knowledge coded in the Puranic texts, as is being
already done for the Vedas.
Hence, this day also signifies victory over our own minds.

Day 3 of 9 - Chandraghanta
Chandraghanta (चोंद्रघोंटा) means "one who has a half-moon shaped like a bell. Her third eye is always
opened and she is always ready for war against demons". She is also known as Chandrakhanda,
Chandika or Rannchandi. Her worship takes place on the third day of Navaratri (the nine divine
nights of Navadurga). She is believed to reward people with her grace, bravery and courage. By her
grace, all the sins, distresses, physical sufferings, mental tribulations and ghostly hurdles of the
devotees are eradicated.

Kushmanda (कूष्माण्डा), the name signals her main role: Ku means "a little", Ushma means "warmth"
or "energy" and Anda means "cosmic egg". Kushmanda is worshipped on the fourth day of the
festival of Navaratri and she is believed to improve health and bestow wealth and strength. Goddess
Kushmanda has eight hands and because of that, She is also known as Ashtabhuja Devi. It is
believed that all the power to bestow Siddhis and Niddhis is located in her Jap Mala.

Day 5 of 9 - Skandamata
Skandamātā (स्कन्दमाता) - the name comes from Skanda, an alternate name for the war god
Kartikeya, and Mātā, meaning mother. As one of the Navadurga, the worship of Skandamātā takes
place on the fifth day of Navaratri. Her abode is in Vishuddha chakra. Skandamātā is four-armed,
three-eyed, and rides on a lion. One of her hands is in the fear-dispelling Abhayamudra position
while the other is used to hold the infant form of her son Skanda on her lap. Her remaining two
hands are typically shown holding lotus flowers.

Katyayani (कात्यायनी) is seen as the slayer of the tyrannical demon Mahishasura. In Yoga and Tantra,
she is ascribed to the sixth Ajna Chakra or the Third eye chakra and her blessings are invoked by
concentrating on this point. She is first mentioned in the Taittiriya Aranyaka part of the Yajurveda.
Skanda Purana mentions her being created out of the spontaneous anger of Gods, which eventually
led to slaying the demon, Mahishasura, mounted on the lion.

Day 7 of 9 - Kalaratri
Kalaratri (कालिावत्र) is considered the fiercest form of the Mother Goddess, her appearance itself
invoking fear. This form of Goddess is believed to be the destroyer of all demon entities, ghosts, evil
spirits and negative energies, who flee upon knowing of her arrival. Kaalratri is also known as
Shubankari (शुभोंकिी) - meaning auspicious/doing good in Sanskrit, due to the belief that she always
provides auspicious results to her devotees. Hence, it is believed that she makes her devotees
fearless.

In Navratri, during the first three days, a person is required to indulge in activities which reduce the
negativity in the body.
The physical purification involves regular bath (of the external body as well as various orifices);
mental bath which involves self-confession exercises, and willful attempts not to think negative.
During these days, a person tries to restrain himself/herself from thinking, speaking or doing any
activity which can harm another person. These negative thoughts should also not be suppressed or
repressed as otherwise, they will manifest into some internal diseases.
The next three days, after the negativity in the mind, has been reduced, involves building positivity in
the mind by way of various positive mental exercises. The last three days involve reading and
understanding good scriptures and learning from the sins of others.
Once you have bid goodbye to negativity in the first three days (representing Kali) and have built up
happiness and positivity in the mind (representing Lakshmi) the only thing left is to acquire spiritual
knowledge (representing Saraswati).
During these last three days, a person is purified enough to understand and grasp the knowledge of
‘Self’ and to understands and discriminate between good and bad.
After the nine days of self-discipline is complete, the person acquires inner happiness which is
nothing but one’s exposure or appointment with the true self or the consciousness (Rama). That is
what Dussehra is with the killing of Tamas (Kumbhakarana), Rajas (Meghnath) and ego (Ravana).
The same interpretation lies in the Navratri ending up with Dussehra – the win over the ego and
attaining inner happiness.
1. Detoxification – since Navratri is a biannual festival; first, at the beginning of summer and
second, at the beginning of winter. These are two juncture of seasonal change, this is the
period when the human body is vulnerable and susceptible to fall sick; therefore it’s necessary
to have a light diet and help the body cells to produce antioxidants which help in removing the
waste products to avoid causing further hazards to the body.
2. Mindfulness – fasting gives our digestive system time to rest. During fasting human body
consumes fat as primary source of energy because of lack of carbohydrates in diet and the
metabolic end product of fat is ketone bodies, ketone bodies are the energy source of brain
and it promotes more acetylcholine release from nerves which finally increases one’s
concentration and calculating ability and it stimulates the release of serotonin which is
the hormone for happiness.
3. Self-discipline – fasting brings the human body and mind to a more disciplined and ideal
state which is difficult to achieve in daily life activities without fasting, this, in turn, helps in
weight loss too.
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
Conclusion
After reading all of this, it definitely makes us think how rich and noble our traditions are. It is easy to
misunderstand that all of our festivals are a form of penance to some or other god, but truly, in a
subtle way, these are meant to help our selves in growing us into better human beings.
The Shiva Purana is the highest science of elevating human nature to the very
peak of consciousness, expressed in the form of very beautiful stories. Yoga
has been expressed in the form of a science without stories attached to it, but if
you look at it in a deeper sense, yoga and the Shiva Purana cannot be
separated. One is for those who like stories, another is for those who are willing
to look at everything scientifically, but the fundamentals of both are the same.
When climate changes, the body is affected and it gets more prone to different
kinds of bacteria. This leads to various mental disorders as well as health
problems. To prevent these unwanted situations ancestors had created the
system of Navratri.
Scientifically when climate changes, the negative impacts affect female brains
the most. Females become psychologically more weak and reactive. The ones
who already have mental disorders face major problems during Saptami.
It is better if you can follow the process of fasting or minimal eating in the four
Navratri’s as it will keep you extremely fit and attract positive energies towards
you.

Celebration!
Navratri and Dusshera are the festivals that are celebrated throughout India and in
other parts of the world, and there is a scientific reason behind Navratri too.
The meaning of Navratri is nine nights. And these nine nights are dedicated to
Goddess Durga and her nine avatars, called Navadurga. Worship is done of the divine
mother or cosmic energy.
And each day of those nine days is associated and dedicated to the incarnation of the
Goddess Durga. Devotees of Goddess Durga exhibit extreme zeal, devotion and
enthusiasm while celebrating Navratri.
But many devotees don’t know about the scientific reason behind Navratri. There is a
uniqueness in the Hindu festivals as they are related to astronomical events or
change and Navratri is not an exception in this.
Prayers are offered frequently during Navratri to the Goddess Durga, to
commemorate the warrior aspect of Shakti or Devi, as the energy of the universe is
represented through it.
Goddess Durga also fought a 9-days battle with a shape-shifting demon named
Mahishasura, a deceptive and powerful buffalo demon. And Goddess Durga defeated
him and on the 10th day after Navratri Vijayadashmi is there, to celebrate the victory
of Goddess Durga.
And this day is also celebrated as Dussehra as Lord Rama defeated the ten-headed
demon king Ravana on this day. But while celebrating people are also do a scientific
thing as there is a scientific reason behind Navratri.
Why is Navratri celebrated and when?
Navratri is a joyous festival, and it is celebrated as a victory of good over evil. And
various traditions are celebrated during this time.
Good seasonal harvest as thanksgiving is also celebrated during this time. Daily tools
are worshipped and are an auspicious day to start our ventures.
Significance of Navratri:
During these 9 days of Navratri, the power of devotion is wonderfully and amazingly
drawn forth to adore the divine Shakti in all its prowess.
To introspect and defeat the vices the impurities within the first 3 days and spent
worshipping Goddess Durga.
For spiritual, wealth and prosperity for all time, Goddess Lakshmi is worshipped and
commemorated on the 4th, 5th and 6th days.
And Goddess of wisdom, that is, Goddess Saraswati is worshipped to achieve all-
around success in life with humility, so 7 th, 8th and 9th days are devoted to her.

Hindu Calendars
(Article contributed by Sri Ramana Sharma(email: jamadagni-at-gmail.com)
The Day
The Hindu calendrical day starts with local sunrise. It is allotted five "properties", called anga-s. They are:
1. the tithi active at sunrise
2. the weekday
Together these are called the panchaanga-s where pancha means "five" in Sanskrit. An explanation of the term
follows.
Tithi
The angular distance (measured anticlockwise) between the sun and moon as measured from the earth can vary
between 0° and 360°. This is divided into 30 parts. Each part ends at 12°, 24° etc. The circle ends at 360°. The
time spent by the moon in each of this parts (i.e. the time taken for the angular distance to change by 12°) is
called one tithi.
The month has two paksha-s or fortnights. The first 15 tithi-s constitute the bright fortnight or shukla
paksha and the next 15tithi-s constitute the dark fortnight or krishna paksha. Tithi-s are indicated by
their paksha and ordinal number within thepaksha. The 15th tithi of the bright fortnight (full moon) is
called puurnimaa and the 15th tithi of the dark fortnight (new moon) is called amaavaasyaa.
The tithi in which the moon is at the time of sunrise of a day is taken to be the tithi for the day.
Weekday
The weekdays are as usual seven. They are (starting from Sunday):
1. Ravi vaasara
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
2. Soma vaasara
3. Mangala vaasara
4. Budha vaasara
5. Guru vaasara
6. Shukra vaasara
7. Shani vaasara
There are many other variations of these names, using other names of the celestial bodies of the Sun, Moon,
Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn. The word vaasara means "weekday".
Nakshatra
The ecliptic (circle on the sky in which the sun, moon and planets seem to move) is divided into 27 nakshatra-s
which are variously called lunar houses or asterisms. The starting point for this division is the point on the
ecliptic directly opposite to the star Spica called Chitraa in Sanskrit. (Other slightly-different definitions exist.)
It is called Meshaadi or the "start of Aries". The ecliptic is divided into the nakshatra-s eastwards starting from
this point.
The names of the nakshatra-s are given below. As always, there are many versions with minor differences. The
names in parentheses give roughly the correspondence of the nakshatra-s to modern names of stars. Note
that nakshatra-s are (in this context) not just single stars but are segments on the ecliptic characterised by one o
more stars. Hence you will find many stars mentioned for one nakshatra.
Svaatii Arcturus
Vishaakhaa α, β, γ and ι Librae
Anuuraadha β, δ and π Scorpionis
Jyeshtha α, σ, and τ Scorpionis
Muula ε, ζ, η, θ, ι, κ, λ, μ and ν Scorpionis
Puurva Ashaadhaa δ and ε Sagittarii
Uttara Ashaadhaa ζ and σ Sagittarii
Shravana α, β and γ Aquilae
Shravishthaa α to δ Delphinis
Shatabhishaj γ Aquarii
Puurva Bhaadrapada α and β Pegasi
Uttara Bhaadrapada γ Pegasi and α Andromedae
Revatii ζ Piscium
The nakshatra in which the moon lies at the time of sunrise of a day is the nakshatra for the day.
Yoga
First, the angular distance along the ecliptic of any object on the sky, measured from Meshaadi (as defined
above) is called the longitude of that object. Now when the longitude of the sun and the longitude of the moon
are added, they produce a value ranging from 0° to 360°. (Values greater than or equal to 360° must be reduced
to less than 360° by subtracting 360°.) Now this is divided into 27 parts. Each part will now equal 800' (where '
is the symbol of the arcminute which means 1/60 of a degree.) Now these parts are called the yoga-s. They are
labeled:
1. Vishkambha
2. Priiti
3. Aayushmaan
4. Saubhaagya
5. Shobhana
6. Atiganda
7. Sukarman
8. Dhriti
9. Shuula
10. Ganda
11. Vriddhi
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
12. Dhruva
13. Vyaaghaata
14. Harshana
15. Vajra
16. Siddhi
17. Vyatiipaata
18. Variiyas
19. Parigha
20. Shiva
21. Siddha
22. Saadhya
23. Shubha
24. Shukla
25. Braahma
26. Aindra
27. Vaidhriti
Again, minor variations many exist. The yoga that is active during sunrise of a day is the yoga for the day.
Karana
A karana is half of a tithi. Since the tithi-s are 30 in number, one would expect there to be 60 karana-s. But
there are only eleven. There are four "fixed" karana-s and seven "repeating" karana-s. The four "fixed" karana
s are:
1. Kimstughna
2. Shakuni
3. Naaga
4. Chatushpaad
2. Baalava
3. Kaulava
4. Taitila
5. Gara
6. Vanija
7. Vishti
o Now the first half of the first tithi (of the bright fortnight) is always Kimstughna karana. Hence this karana is
"fixed".
o Next, the seven repeating karana-s repeat eight times to cover the next 56 half-tithi-s. Thus these are the
"repeating"karana-s.
o The three remaining half-tithi-s take the remaining "fixed" karana-s in order. Thus these are also "fixed".
The karana active during sunrise of a day is the karana for the day.
As has been previously noted, the sun is observed to travel along the ecliptic. The ecliptic is now divided into
twelve parts called raashi-s, starting from the point of Meshaadi defined above and moving eastwards. They
are:
1. Mesha
2. Vrishabha
3. Mithuna
4. Kataka
5. Simha
6. Kanyaa
7. Tulaa
8. Vrishchika
9. Dhanus

10. Makara
11. Kumbha

4. Aashaadha
5. Shraavana
6. Bhaadrapada
7. Aashvayuja

8. Kaartika
9. Maargashiirsha
10. Pausha
11. Maagha
12. Phaalguna
Extra Months
There are twelve raashi names, there are twelve lunar month names. When the sun transits into Mesha raashi in
a lunar month, then the name of the lunar month is Chaitra. When the sun transits into Vrishabha, then the luna
month isVaishaakha. So on.
When the sun does not at all transit into any raashi but simply keeps moving within a raashi in a lunar month
(i.e. before a new moon), then that lunar month will be named according to the first upcoming transit. It will
also take the epithet of adhikaor "extra". For example, if a lunar month elapsed without a solar transit and the
next transit is into Mesha, then this month without transit is labeled adhika Chaitra. The next month will be
labeled according to its transit as usual and will get the epithet shuddha or "clean". [Note that an adhika month
is the first of two whereas an adhika tithi is the second of two.]
An adhika maasa (month) occurs once every two or three years.
Lost Months
Now if the sun transits into two raashi-s within a lunar month, then the lunar month will be labeled by the first
transit and will take the epithet kshaya or "loss". Actually, the month "lost" is the month which would have bee
labeled by the second transit. For example, if the sun transits into Mesha and Vrishabha in a lunar month, then
will be called Chaitra kshaya. There will be no month labeled Vaishaakha. Sometimes a kshaya is named by
both months, so: Chaitra-Vaishaakha Kshayain which case the implication would be that the two months have
merged (for religious purposes, see below).
A kshaya maasa occurs very rarely. Known gaps between occurrence of kshaya maasa-s are 19 and 141 years.
The last was in 1983 CE. Jan-15 through Feb-12 were Pausha(-Maagha) kshaya. Feb-13 onwards was (adhika)
Phaalguna and notMaagha. Maagha was "lost" that year.
Special Case: If there is no solar transit in a lunar month but there are two transits in the next lunar month,
o the first month will be labeled by the first transit of the second month (as usual) and take the epithet adhika and
o the next month will be labeled by its first transit (as usual) and take the epithet kshaya.
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
By one calculation, the last such occurrence was in 1963 CE. Oct-18 to Nov-16 midday were adhika Kaartika.
From then on to Dec-15 were Kaartika(-Maargashiirsha) kshaya. Dec-16 onwards was Pausha,
not Maargashiirsha.
The epoch (starting point or first day of the first year) of the current era of Hindu calendar (both solar and
lunisolar) is BCE3102 January 23 on the proleptic Gregorian calendar (i.e. the Gregorian calendar extended
back in time before its promulgation from 1582 October 15). Both the solar and lunisolar calendars started on
this date. After that, each year is labeled by the number of years elapsed since the epoch.
This is a unique feature of the Hindu calendar. All other systems use the current ordinal number of the year as
the year label. But just as a person's true age is measured by the number of years that have elapsed starting from
the date of the person's birth, the Hindu calendar measures the number of years elapsed. Today (as of writing
this on 2005-05-18) the elapsed years in the Hindu calendar are 5106 and this is the 5107th Hindu calendar yea
Note that the lunisolar calendar year will usually start earlier than the solar calendar year.
Apart from this numbering system, there is also a cycle of 60 calendar year names, which started at the first yea
(at elapsed years zero) and runs continuously:

Eras
Hindu mythology speaks of four eras or ages, of which we are currently in the last. The four are:
1. Krita Yuga
2. Tretaa Yuga
3. Dvaapara Yuga
4. Kali Yuga
They are often translated into English as the golden, silver, bronze and iron ages. (Yuga means era.) It is
believed that the ages see a gradual decline of dharma, wisdom, knowledge, intellectual capability, life span and
emotional and physical strength. The epoch provided above is the start of the Kali Yuga. The Kali Yuga is
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
432,000 years long. The Dvaapara, Tretaaand Krita Yuga-s are said to be twice, thrice and four time the length
of the Kali Yuga respectively. Thus they together constitute 4,320,000 years. This is called a Caturyuga.
A thousand and a thousand (i.e. two thousand) caturyuga-s are said to be one day and night of the
creator Brahmaa. He (the creator) lives for 100 years of 360 such days and at the end, he is said to dissolve,
along with his entire Creation, into the Eternal Soul or Paramaatman or Brahma (different from Brahmaa).
The 9 types of reckoning time are (1) Brahma (Braahma), (2) Deva
(Daiva), (3) Manu (Maanava), (4) Pitrya, (5) Saura, (6) Savana
(Saavana), (7) Chandra (Chaandra), (8) Arksa (Naakshatra) and (9)
Guru (Baarhaspatya).
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
In this world, only 5 out of the 9 types are used for practical
purpose. They are (1) Saura, (2) Savana, (3) Chaandra, (4) Arksha
and (5) Baarhaspatya.
The 4 measures that are used in larger time measures i.e., that of
Mahayugas etc. are (1) Braahma, (2) Daiva, (3) Maanva and (4)
Pitrya.
The Saura Maana is used for determining the Mean and True
motions (positions) of the Grahas. One should refer to the
Siddhantic texts such as Surya-Siddhanta, Pancha-Siddhantika etc.
Refer here for the mean motions of the Grahas that is defined based
on the Mahayuga.
There is no doubt that Solar Years means Sidereal Solar Years and
NOT Tropical Solar Years, as the planetary positions are not
computed as per the Tropical Calendar in the Siddhantic Texts.
The Lord of the Day (Vara) and Hora (Kshana Vara) is defined from
this measure of the day.
Where it is used? This Time Measure finds wide usage for all day to
day activities. In normal parlance a day is equivalent to the period
of two successive Sunrises. The measure of Weeks (39 weeks) and
Months (9 months) are used for determining the duration of
pregnancy and labour.
Everyday the nakshatras rise and set in the Eastern and Western
Horizon respectively.
This is used for determining the Rasi (Zodiac Sign) Rising at the
Horizon at the moment of birth.
There are two elements of Lunar Time Measure, that is very useful
in determining auspicious time for various Samskaras such as
Yagnopavita, Mundan etc. These are Tithi and Karana. These two
are important elements of Panchanga, the 5 elements of Time.
The Tithis are formed due to the relative motion of Chandra from
Surya.
The Tithis are grouped into Nanda etc. which are used for
determining auspicious time in Muhurtha.
The Tithis are grouped in Shukla and Krsna Paksha which are used
for timing various activitirs. It is know that the Shukla Paksha
belongs to the Devas while the Krsna Paksha belongs to the Pitris
(manes, forefathers).
SSRG International Journal of Applied Physics (IJAP) – Volume 5 Issue 1- January to April 2018
The same year naming is used for Lunar Years in the Salivahana
Era or even in the Solar Calendar that starts with Sun’s movement
into Sidereal Mesha Rasi. But these years are different from the
Jovian years. The Jovian years are almost 12 years advanced than
those followed in the Saka or Vikram Samvat Era.
The Jovian Years should be really used to determine the state of the
world and not the ones determined by the other Eras. More to be
covered in future writeup.
