RHYTHM RACES:

 Split class into two/three teams.

 Give one person on each team a dry erase marker.

 Clap a rhythm (using ta, ti-ti, rest, ta-a). Students must run to the board and be the first one to correctly write the
rhythm on the board.

 Split class into two teams.

 Have one student from each team line up in front of the big staff on floor.

 Teacher yells out a solfege syllable. The first student to stand on the right spot on the staff wins a point for their
team.
ROCK, PAPER, SOLFEGE

 Students find a partner. (distanced as far apart as possible).

 Teacher says “Rock, Paper, and then a solfege syllable—for example “Rock, Paper, Fa”

 The first student of each pair to make the correct hand sign wins.

 The losing student has to follow the winning student, becoming a part of his “team.”

 Winning students find a new partner and repeat.

 Group at the end with biggest “team” wins.
