Some people fail in school but end up being successful in life.

Why
do you think that is the case? What is the most important thing to
succeed in life?

From early childhood, we are presented with the misconception that having high
academic achievements will grant us a bright future. However, there are myriad
aspects we rarely consider, which may shift our definitions of good education, career
success, and the correlation between them.

Firstly, the school system in most countries is still implementing old and ineffective
teaching methods. Students often feel disengaged, not supported, and left behind.
Their teachers do not provide them with individual and personalized tutoring, which
often leads to dramatic differences in the students' level of academic preparation.

Secondly, one of the most urgent issues at public schools is the high number of
mandatory subjects/courses. Every individual is interested in different topics,
pursues different goals, and aims for different achievements. However, the school
system pressures everyone to take the same courses, which leads to low
engagement during classes. A STEM-oriented student will never shine during a
Literature class, nor will a humanities student feel self-confident and valuable during
a Chemistry class. Nevertheless, those children may have great potential within their
area of development.

To conclude, being successful at school and reaching your full potential in life should
never be viewed as equal. Any student who is considered a failure at being like
everyone else has the power to demonstrate to the world how authentic and valuable
he can be.
