General Motors Company is ranked 22nd in the 500
fortune rankings in the United States. The General Motors
Company has different automotive manufacturing plants in
the USA and 8 different countries, and the automaker has
four core brands, namely the Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and
Cadillac. General Motors also invests in other international
automotive brands that are in China, such as Wuling Motors,
Baojun, and DMAX. General Motors Company claimed to be
173 billion dollars in debt; in June 2009, GM filed for Chapter Figure 2: General
11 bankruptcy protection. The following month, it emerged Motors Logo
from the bankruptcy process and various restructuring. In the
year 2010, the corporation announced the end of the Pontiac
and Saturn brands and the sale of Saab. GM was left with four vehicle divisions
following the downsizing: Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC. GM returned to the
stock market in November 2010 with one of the largest initial public offerings in US
history. The next year, GM reclaimed its position as the world's largest automaker.
The seminar opened with the remarks of Ma'am Angelita introducing the
dedication of General Motors in the line of saving and serving its customers' lives so
they can reliably travel on the road without being worried about anything

According to Ma'am Char that people should opt to be open minded in many things
such as change, people should be always open minded in various things, and GM
aims for people to create a space for everyone to be able to open and show their
authentic selves. Ms. Angie showcases the GM's long term goal of zero crashes, zero
emissions, and zero ingestions with the help of their autonomous systems called the
cruise automobile and the cadillac lyriq which coincidentally are both electric
vehicles. With the rise and steady demand of electric vehicles not only in the US but
around the world shows the impact that being a part of people that are hoping to
preserve and continuously help the environment by switching to sustainable measn
such as electric vehicles.
The zero–zero–zero vision of the General Motors brand proves further that
the company and all its subsidiary groups aims to continuously produce sustainable
vehicles that normal man can afford in the future. The year 1996 is the start of
OnStar as the video that was shown during the presentation of Ma'am Angie, it was
the year of blue button and automatic crash notification was created and the start
of onstar, the year 2005 was the program and launching of what they call the crisis
assist system which they connect customers or subscribers to service tech
assisstants that are available 24/7, the 2008 was when Onstar launched the Stolen
Vehicle Slowdown system where it will automaticall slowdown to help in the pursuit
of police authorities once it is reported as stolen, in the year 2014 was when they
launch a more techy stuff such as in – vehicle wifi system that lets people connect
on board wherever they are travelling, while lastly, in 2021 they launched the OnStar
guardian app to be able to assisst their customers at a faster phase around the
United States. In this seminar many expressed their amazement towards OnStar's
dedication to serve their customers, OnStar's motto of Be Safe Out There is an
important matter that they continuously improve throughout the years of
improvement that they say more than 150,000 members call are made everyday
requiring their 24/7 assisstance anywhere and everywhere throughout the United

Guardian, and that is a mixture of Automatic Crash incidents, in – vehicle
emergencies, good samaritan calls and more. Through the years of handling
different calls and handling various situations the GM OnStar company have
compiled and managed to get datas that they accurately use in terms of declaring
that someone happened to be in an accident or they need immidiate help as fast as
they could because it could be fatal. According to the speaker that the system is so
advanced and sophisticated that it can differentiate false alarms from real alarms
that are concerning peoples lives.

continuously pursuing knowledge and learning new things and describes herself as
a learner and a person who loves to learn. Mr. Marco then proceeds to introduce
himself as a system analyst that worked in GM OnStar services for 8 years, he has
15 years of IT and computer support experience, Mr. Marco is a graduate of
software engineering and describe his experience as started his job as a computer
clerk and as time goes by an opportunity in General Motors and started out as a
senior developer and worked his way up to what he has today, he gave an advice to
the young generation that never be afraid in taking in risks that you know are worth
it in return. The OnStar vision and mission is to protect the customers’ drivers and
their assets through the various software solutions they develop through the
efficiency of business and insights. OnStar is a global company that is connected
around the world and continuously expand while bringing on new products that
connects people and their families closely. The OnStar success started in the year
2014 when they brought the 4G connectivity to their vehicles that brings the
consumers more data to use, they were the first to use a 3rd part API data provider
in the United States. The OnStar then describe that in 2021 they are already capable
of supporting non – General Motor vehicles, which means that it can be more
diverse in the upcoming years not only for United States but for the rest of the world
as the General Motors discovers and find new ways to connect to their primary
consumers.
The General Motor main mission is to serve their customers holistically, they
want to maximize more their interaction with their consumers from their shopping
journey all the way to ownership and experience journey. The collaboration
between General Motors and various companies throughout the years shows on
how much that particular company for example a local trucking company
collaborates with General Motors OnStar to keep their drivers and consumers safe
in the roads, the General Motors prioritizes the safety of its consumers with utmost
care and various considerations as was discussed in the seminar. Lastly, the question
and answer portion were next and some particular questions took my interest such
as the cyberscurity strength of the General Motors OnStar Corporation system, can
they withsthood any outside attacks by hackers and other terrorists, they assure
that they have 24/7 software engineers and people who specialize in their fields
working up their security to prevent that kind of event. Another question that
interest me is that did they try to install an OnStar corporation or did they try to
integrate to a car model that are older than the 90’s to make it more safe and
reliable in the streets. They answered that they did this kind of setup more than
once and they are carefully including many terms and services that can be used as
for future references.
