Midterm Project – When Technology and Humanity Cross (Artwork)

I- Standard
A. Content Standard
1. The learner demonstrates understanding of science, technology and society (STS) and STS related concepts.
B. Performance Standard
1. The learner creates an artwork and interprets the message of the art.
II- Content
A. Science, Technology and Society and the Human Condition
III- Learning Competencies
Students will be able to…
A. produce any form of art about a specific issue related to advantages, disadvantages and limitations of technology and it’s impact to humanity;
B. demonstrate creativity in conveying a meaningful message through art;
C. use technological tools available to create an artwork;
D. demonstrate understanding of STS concepts and the human condition in explaining the art interpretation.
IV- Tools
A. Computer
B. Smartphone, Digital Camera, or DLSR Camera (Video Recording)
C. App, instrument or any creative tool to create/perform the artwork
D. Video Editing Software, Web Tool, or Mobile Application.
V- Guidelines
A. This project can be accomplished individually or by group (maximum of 5 members- you are free to group yourselves).
For those who will accomplish the project in groups (2-5 members) will have to submit an accomplished peer evaluation for their co-member/s in PDF file following the Peer evaluation table.
Those who will do the project individually don’t need to submit a peer evaluation file.
B. Each individual/group will create a 3- 6 minutes video presentation of the artwork in MP4 format. Artwork could be a poem, song, drawing, painting, digital art or any other form of art that could
be used to present a meaningful message. Original work is encouraged but if the student cannot produce an original art, interpretation of existing artwork may be accepted. Students are not
required to appear in the Video.
C. Format for video presentation:
-Art Title, Art Presentation followed by or with Art Interpretation/Message, Credits and Names of Members.
D. Group interactions in preparing the project is strictly online.
E. Students can use any video editing software, web tools, or mobile application that they are familiar with in making their video presentation.
F. The video must be in line with the vision- mission of the school thus cursing, vulgar words, profanity, obscenity are not allowed.
G. Proper citation for borrowed materials is required.
H. How to submit:
o Save the file/files in you GDrive on a FOLDER entitled STS Project Section – Surname of Students
o Add my email address as Viewer of the FOLDER [email protected] and [email protected]
o Copy the Sharing Link and Submit in Moodle Online Text on the Midterm Project Submission Activity (All are required to do this for submission)
