Design of Pre Stressed Concrete ELEMENTS-15CV82: Department of Civil Engineering

This document outlines a course on the design of pre-stressed concrete elements. The course is divided into 5 modules that will cover: 1) introduction and analysis of pre-stressed members, 2) losses in prestress due to factors like shrinkage and creep, 3) design of sections for flexure, 4) design for shear, and 5) anchorage zone stresses and design. The objectives are for students to understand pre-stressed concrete requirements, analyze stresses during transfer and working, understand design effectiveness after studying losses, and learn how to design pre-stressed beams for different needs. The course will enable analysis and efficient design of pre-stressed concrete elements.
