THE INFORMATION AGE
• Considered as a historic
period in the 21st century.
• Characterized by the rapid
shift from traditional industry
• It is also called the computer
age, digital age and the new
media age.

• It is marked by a very fast
growth in communication
and information
technology.
• This age holds a significant
influence to educators and
learners
THE INFORMATION AGE
• Invention of Computer and
Internet turned the society
into home buddies and who
do everything from the
comfort of their homes.
THE INFORMATION AGE
• The Information Age is a true new age based upon the
interconnection of computers via telecommunications,
with these information systems operating on both a real-
time and as needed basis. Furthermore, the primary
factors driving this new age forward are convenience and
user-friendliness, which in turn, will create user
dependence.
