Like and Dislike

Like and Dislike are called preferences.

The form:

Subject + like/likes + verb-ing/noun

Example:

Subject like/likes verb-ing/noun

I singing.

You Pop.
like
We reading.

They Rock.

He playing a guitar.

She likes Jazz.

It eating meat.

Subject + dislike/dislikes + verb-ing/noun

(do/does + not + like)

Example:

Subject like/likes verb-ing/noun

I singing.

Because and Because of

 Because
Because is a conjunction which connects 2 sentences. Every sentence must have a subject and a
verb.
Pattern : sentence + because + sentence
Example :
 I like Pop because it is nice to hear. (“it is nice to hear” is a sentence.)

 Because of
Because of is a phrasal preposition. A preposition should always be followed by a noun only.
Pattern : sentence + because of + noun
Example :
 I don’t go to school because of a heavy rain. (“a heavy rain” is a noun.)
