What This Module is About
Notes to the Teacher/ Facilitator:

This module is basically a continuation of the 1st lesson in Module 2 which is

the Division of Polynomials. The activities in this module will help the learners to
evaluate polynomials using the Remainder Theorem and they will also learn how to
determine the zeros of a polynomial using the Factor Theorem.

This module will also give them engaging activities that will motivate and
challenge them. The learners will also be provided with examples on proving the
Remainder Theorem and Factor Theorem.

In this lesson, they will learn a new method of finding the remainder when a
polynomial is divided by a binomial. They will also learn a method of determining
whether or not a binomial is a factor of a given polynomial.

To the teachers, welcome to the Remainder Theorem and the Factor

Theorem. This module deals on how to find the remainder using the Remainder
Theorem and how to determine whether or not (x-r) is a factor of a given polynomial
using the Factor Theorem. This module has two lessons which are good for 2 days
per lesson. Hope you will have a good time! Enjoy teaching!

Notes to the Learners and Parents:

To the parents, welcome to the world of Mathematics! This module is specially

designed for our learners. Hope you will have a good time assisting your child in
doing the activities of this module.

To the learners, the writer would like to give you a guide for the proper use of
this module.
1. Carefully read the items in this module.
2. Follow the directions as you read the materials.
3. You need to answer all the questions that you encounter. As you go
through the module, you will find help to answer these questions.
4. You must be patient and industrious in doing the activities in this module.
5. Take your time to study and learn. Happy Learning!
