Dear Faiz,

How are you? Hope you are fine and thank you for the last e-mail. I met
your brother Ali at the library last week. I was very happy to see him.

This semester we are working on a project about saving water .We are
learning as much as possible about saving water, looking for information about
the topic and working hard with our science and English teachers. We have
found a lot of useful information on the internet and from some books at the
learning resource center at school. Me and Ahmed will draw the pictures for
the poster. You know that I am good at drawing. Salim and Rashid will design
it and write the information. We must be ready after 2 weeks because the

Listening script 1

1. It is the largest animal in the history of the world. It can grow to a length of
100 feet and 200 tones.

2. Sea stars are animals that live in all the world’s oceans. They have five arms and
look like stars. For that reason, they are often called starfish.

3. Sharks are fast swimming fishes that have a skeleton made of cartilage instead
of bone. Most sharks live in oceans in the mild or warm parts of Earth.

4. Coral is a small animal that lives in warm water and attaches itself to rocks, with
some types building a hard skeleton.

5. Turtles are reptiles and you can find them living almost anywhere.
They have a hard shell which helps keep them protected from attackers

Pasta is traditional Italian food. It is also commonly used to refer to


different types of pasta dishes. Pasta is made from dough of flour
mixed with water or eggs and formed into sheets or various shapes.
Then, it is cooked by boiling or baking. Pasta may be divided into two
kinds dried pasta and fresh pasta. In the past, fresh pasta was
produced by hand but today it is produced by large machines. Some
kinds of pasta may have 28 names depends upon the town and region in
Italy.
