6. Ensure that your name and the name of your Campus are clearly indicated on the CD cover
where your assignment is been saved and submit individually to your lecturer.
7. Keep copies of all assignments handed in.
8. Failure to adhere to the above will result in marks being deducted.
9. No group work may be done on an Individual Assignment.
10. Plagiarism and copying of assignments will result in the default mark 0% being awarded. This is
also a punishable offense, which will lead to a disciplinary action.
What is plagiarism?
Plagiarism is the use of other people's work without acknowledging the original work. Plagiarism is stealing somebody’s
intellectual property. It is pretending that someone else’s work is your own. Committing plagiarism is unacceptable to
Damelin, and will result in serious consequences for any person who is found guilty of plagiarism.
Declaration of Authenticity
A critical aspect of any assignment is authenticity. Because you are completing much of the work for the assignments
unsupervised, the examiner must be convinced that it is all your own work. For this reason, you must complete the
Declaration of Authenticity and have it countersigned by your manager, mentor or lecturer.
The declaration of authenticity is a legal document, and if found that you have made a false declaration,
then not only will your results be declared null and void, but you could also have criminal charges
brought against you. It is not worth taking the risk!

Groups will consist of between minimum 2 and maximum 4 members. The group has to meet and each
member has to select one or two questions to complete depending on the size of the group. I.e. each
student has to submit 6 questions/summaries.
Each group member has to sign for authenticity that the portion submitted is their own work.
Once each member has completed their group assignment, the group will meet to present their
fragment of the group assignment to the rest of the group and the lecturer.
Each member of the group has to present one A4 page summary of the presentation for each member
of the group. These summaries need to be submitted with your own assignment.
The names of all the group members have to be completed on the template below once the group
completed their assignments.
The number denotes the question number of the assignment that was completed by each student.
Please sign as proof of authenticity.

The mark allocation will always be constant for the group assignment, i.e. the group summaries will
always count from a total of 40 marks irrespective of the number of members that participate in the
group assignment.
Each individual’s own contribution will count 60 marks, plus their summaries of 40 marks.
A blanket mark will not be allocated to the group in total. Each member will be awarded for their
individual contribution. The group assignment counts towards the DP mark and therefore, has to
reflect the mark earned by each individual.
The purpose of the presentation is to be familiar with the content of the entire assignment.
Please note example below according to the 40 marks, the maximum marks that could be allocated for
the summary of each question.
