The document provides guidance on evaluating a database solution based on user requirements and feedback. It outlines key factors to assess: user satisfaction, functionality, scalability, security, accessibility, ease of use, and maintenance/support. Feedback should be used to identify improvements and ensure the solution continues to meet evolving needs. The evaluation should justify any changes from initial designs based on improved functionality, interface, performance, security, scalability or flexibility. At least three recommendations are made: implement data quality measures, optimize query performance, and establish regular backups and disaster recovery protocols.

Database Evaluation Report

Evaluate how well the final database solution meets the user requirements and fits the
intended purpose based on user feedback.

User Satisfaction: The level of satisfaction expressed by users is a good indication of how
well the database solution is meeting their needs. User feedback should be solicited through
surveys, feedback forms, or other means of communication.

Functionality: The database solution should meet the functional requirements specified by
users, including the ability to store, retrieve and update data in a timely and efficient manner.

Scalability: The database solution should be able to handle the amount of data expected to
be stored and the number of users expected to access it.

Security: The database solution should meet the security requirements specified by users,
including encryption, user authentication, and access controls.

Accessibility: The database solution should be easily accessible by users, whether through a
web interface, mobile application, or other means.

Ease of Use: The database solution should be easy to use, with a simple and intuitive
interface that allows users to quickly and easily perform tasks.

Maintenance and Support: The database solution should be easy to maintain and provide
adequate support to users when issues arise.

Overall, the effectiveness of a database solution should be evaluated based on how well it
meets the needs of users and how it helps them to achieve their goals efficiently and
effectively. Feedback from users should be used to identify areas for improvement and
ensure that the database solution continues to meet their needs over time.

Evaluate the final database against the initial designs. Justify any changes that were
made throughout the development.

The evaluation can be based on the following factors:

Functionality: The final database should meet all of the functional requirements
specified in the initial designs. Any changes made to the initial designs should have
been made to improve the functionality of the database or to better meet the needs of
the users.
User Interface: The final database should have a user-friendly interface that is easy to
use and understand. Any changes made to the initial designs should have been made
to improve the user interface or to better meet the needs of the users.

Performance: The final database should perform at least as well as the initial designs
specified. Any changes made to the initial designs should have been made to improve
the performance of the database or to better meet the needs of the users.

Security: The final database should meet all of the security requirements specified in
the initial designs. Any changes made to the initial designs should have been made to
improve the security of the database or to better meet the needs of the users.

Scalability: The final database should be scalable, meaning it should be able to

handle growth and changing requirements over time. Any changes made to the initial
designs should have been made to improve the scalability of the database or to better
meet the needs of the users.

Flexibility: The final database should be flexible, meaning it should be able to adapt to
changing requirements and be easily modified when necessary. Any changes made to
the initial designs should have been made to improve the flexibility of the database or
to better meet the needs of the users.

Justifying any changes made throughout the development should be done by

identifying the reason for the change and explaining how it improves the functionality,
user interface, performance, security, scalability, or flexibility of the database.
Additionally, any changes made should have been done in collaboration with the
users or stakeholders to ensure that they meet their needs and expectations.

Make at least three recommendations for how you can further improve the database.

Data Quality Improvement: One recommendation to improve the database could be to

implement data quality improvement measures. This could involve setting up data
validation rules to ensure that the data entered into the database is consistent,
accurate, and meets predefined standards. Another way to improve data quality would
be to incorporate data profiling techniques that would help identify any issues with
the data such as duplication, missing data, or inconsistency in the formatting of data.

Optimization of Query Performance: A second recommendation for improving the

database could be to optimize the performance of queries. This could involve creating
appropriate indexing, making sure that the queries are well-formed and avoid using
inefficient queries. The database could be fine-tuned for faster response times,
reducing the overall load on the system, and improving user experience.

Regular Backup and Disaster Recovery: A third recommendation to improve the

database could be to implement regular backup and disaster recovery mechanisms.
This could include creating a backup schedule for the database and making sure that
the backup data is stored in a secure location. Additionally, a disaster recovery plan
should be established to ensure that data can be recovered in the event of any
unforeseen circumstances such as system failures, data breaches, or natural
disasters.

Level Criteria

Explain how the final database is suitable for the user requirements and 12 2D.P6
purpose.

Review the extent to which the finished database meets the user 12 2D.M5
requirements, considering feedback from others.

Evaluate the finished database against the design and justify any changes 12 2D.D4
made, making recommendations for further improvements to the database.
