INFANT CPR(Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) PROCEDURE

Good morning mam/sir, I am Lavier Nacion, today I am going to perform INFANT CPR PROCEDURE.

The Scenario: The infant was choked.

PROCEDURES:

 First: Survey the scene.


 Is the scene safe?
What happened? I saw the baby lying on the table.
Are you the mother of the baby?
Are there any by standers who can help?
I am Lavier Nacion a first aider and trained CPR provider, can I help?
 To check the consciousness.
Baby, baby, baby, baby (shake the hands)
Baby, baby, baby, baby (tickle the feet)
The baby is unresponsive.

 By standers please activate advance medical assistance and transfer facility, and report back to me as I do my
primary survey which is the A.B.C. (A-airways B-breathing C-circulation)

 To check the airways.


Slightly tilt the head in neutral position.
Nose, mouth, no obstruction seen.
Check the breathing. Look, listen, feel, and count for 10 seconds.
1.1001.1002.1003.1004.1005.1006.1007.1008.1009.1010.

NEGATIVE BREATHING.

 Give 2 initial ventilation.


First ventilation: open mouth, blow. (The airs bounce back.)
Second ventilation: open mouth, blow. (The airs bounce back.)
 Do the FBAO management. (Foreign Body Airways Obstruction)
Hold the baby in a football hold.
Give 5 back flows.
Back to supine position.
In between the nipple line.
Give 5 rapid chest trusts.
 Obstruction scene.
Finger swipe using your little finger.
Give 2 confirmatory blows.
First attempt: open mouth, blow. (The air goes in.) REPOSITION
Second attempt: open mouth, blow. (The air goes in.)
 Check the Circulation by checking the brachial pulse.
Look, listen, feel, and count for 10 seconds.
1.1001.1002.1003.1004.1005.1006.1007.1008.1009.1010.

NEGATIVE PULSE.
 By standers please activate advance medical assistance and transfer facility, and report back to me as I do my
CPR.

 2 blow, 5 cycles, 30 compressions.


(In between the nipple line give 30 compressions in every cycle using your 2 fingers in the middle.)
1st cycle:
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20
1, 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,1. (Open mouth, 2 blows)
2nd cycle:
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20
1, 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,2. (Open mouth, 2 blows)
3rd cycle:
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20
1, 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,3. (Open mouth, 2 blows)
4th cycle:
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20
1, 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,4. (Open mouth, 2 blows)
5th cycle:
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20
1, 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,5. (Open mouth, 2 blows)

 Check the Circulation by checking the brachial pulse.

POSITIVE PULSE.
NEGATIVE BREATHING.

RESCUE BREATHING.

 GIVE 40 CYCLES.
Open mouth blow- 1-1001
Open mouth blow- 1-1002
Open mouth blow- 1-1003
Open mouth blow- 1-1004
Open mouth blow- 1-1005
Open mouth blow- 1-1006
Open mouth blow- 1-1007
Open mouth blow- 1-1008
Open mouth blow- 1-1009
Open mouth blow- 1-1010
Continue up to 1-1011 to 1-1020,
Then repeat from the count of 1-1001 again up to 1-1019.
Open mouth blow- 1-1040 (last number)

 Check the Circulation by checking the brachial pulse.


Look, listen, feel, and count for 10 seconds.
1.1001.1002.1003.1004.1005.1006.1007.1008.1009.1010.

POSITIVE BREATHING.
 By stander please FOLLOW UP advance medical assistance and transfer facility, and report back to me as I do my
secondary survey which is the RECOVERY POSITION.

 Hold the baby in the UPRIGHT HOLD.


 Slightly twist the head.
 Interview the mother what happened.

 Get the vital signs.
1. Temperature
2. Pulse rate
3. Respiratory rate
 Head to toe examination, whether there is
Deformity
Edema
Contusion
Abrasion
Puncture or Penetration
Tenderness
Bruises
Laceration
Swelling
 Once the medical assistance arrived.
 Offer the baby to the mother and proceed to the hospital.

DO THE DOCUMENTATION.

The procedure is done.
