DLL Sound

1. The daily lesson log describes a science class for 7th grade students on the characteristics of sound waves. The objectives are for students to demonstrate an understanding of sound waves and describe their characteristics using concepts like wavelength, velocity, and amplitude. 2. During the class, students will be grouped and use their textbooks to complete an activity identifying sound wave characteristics. They will then discuss their answers as a class. 3. The teacher will explain how sound is propagated and have students experiment with producing sounds using rubber bands of different thicknesses and lengths to demonstrate concepts like pitch. A formative assessment will evaluate student understanding of key sound wave concepts.
