1. Which technologies may influence people’s mental health? How?

Social Media

The nature of social media is to reinforce. By producing dopamine, a "feel-good

chemical" connected to enjoyable pursuits like sex, eating, and social connection, using it
activates the brain's reward center. The platforms are linked to bodily problems like sadness
and anxiety and are made to be addictive. The human species is a sociable animal. To prosper
in life, we require the company of others, and the quality of our relationships has a significant
bearing on both our mental health and enjoyment. Social interaction with others has been
shown to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, improve self-esteem, bring comfort and joy,
prevent loneliness, and even lengthen life. On the other hand, a lack of solid social ties can
severely affect your mental and emotional well-being.

Many people around the globe now use social media sites like Facebook, Twitter,
Snapchat, YouTube, and Instagram to communicate with one another. While each has
advantages, it's crucial to keep in mind that social media can never fully replace face-to-face
interaction. The hormones that reduce stress and make you feel happier, healthier, and more
optimistic are only released when you are in direct physical contact with other people. Ironically,
social media, which is meant to bring people together, can really make you feel more alone and
isolated and aggravate mental health issues like anxiety and depression if you spend too much
time using it.

What’s driving your social media use?

The majority of us now use our smartphones or tablets to access social media. While
this makes staying in touch very convenient, it also makes social media always available. This
constant, high-speed connectivity can lead to issues with impulse control, damage your ability to
concentrate and focus, interfere with your sleep, and make you dependent on your phone.

Social media sites are made to hold your interest, keep you online, and make you
frequently check for updates. It is how businesses generate revenue. But social media use can
induce psychological cravings, much like gambling compulsive or an addiction to nicotine,
alcohol, or drugs. Dopamine, the "reward" chemical released after successful gambling, eating
chocolate, or smoking, for example, can be released in the brain in response to receiving a like,
a share, or a positive response to a post. Even if it starts to negatively impact other areas of
your life, the more you're rewarded, the more time you want to spend on social media.

In the United States, social media is used by 81% of teenagers and 69% of adults,
according to the Pew Research Center, this increases the likelihood that a big portion of the
population may experience anxiety, depression, or illness as a result of using social media.
People publish information in the expectation of receiving favorable feedback in order to
increase self-esteem and experience a sense of belonging in their social circles. You should
always check platforms if you combine that material with the design of prospective future
incentives.

2. Do technologies have a positive or negative effect on personal safety?

Yes, technologies have positive and negative effects on our personal

safety. Technology helps us in our daily lives making every work efficient and
convenient.
3. Does modern technology help improve the educational process?

Of course, modern technology helps improves the educational process

and we all learned how it really helped each student and every educator how to
use it.

4. Can robots replace humans completely on the workplaces? Why?

Robots can never replace humans completely because there are tasks
that require humans to complete them. The ability of robots to automate human
characteristics like problem-solving, creativity, and interpersonal interaction is still
in its infancy.

5. Describe a new technology you consider the most prominent. Explain

your choice.
One of the most well-known technologies currently in use and one of
several that will rule the future is the Internet of Things. Unprecedented
potential for company growth and the advancement of digital
transformation is provided by the IoT. By bolstering existing business
models and generating fresh goods, services, and products, new
technical developments, digital transformation, and the IoT are
facilitating growth. We can benefit from IoT applications in a variety of
ways. from intelligent water management technologies to energy-
efficient lighting options. In light of this, we may affirm that the Internet
of Things is the future.

6. Imagine the future of technology: what life will be like in 20 years?

In 20 years, technology will be applied in more inventive ways than
before in 20 years. Robots that assist us with daily tasks like cooking, cleaning,
and even driving cars are a possibility. Additionally, it is predicted that
occupations for those who lack the necessary skills to perform tasks that
robots can perform would become less common. To live in this new future
where machines take over human professions, they might need to find
alternative employment or learn new skills. Technology is ever-evolving and
changing. It is now a collection of numerous constantly changing and
developing technologies rather than a single thing. I have the following
forecasts for the next 20 years:
 The internet will become more centralized
 3D printing will be more commonplace
 There will be many new technological advances that we cannot even imagine
now.

7. What would life be without modern technology?

Technology has made life easier than it has ever been. We no
longer need to go outside to find entertainment or information because
we have access to both on our phones or computer. But contemporary
technology also brings a sense of addiction and dependency. Many
individuals depend on their gadgets for survival, and they spend an
increasing amount of time using them each year.
It may be difficult to envisage life without contemporary
technology given the current rate of creation. We now embrace
technology as a part of our daily lives and rely on numerous digital tools
to stay organized at work or stay in touch with friends and family. Since
modern technologies have altered how people communicate, learn,
shop, access information, socialize, and more, it is difficult to return to a
time before they existed.

8. Do technologies have more pros or cons? Why?

Yes, technology has more pros and cons, this is because
technology undoubtedly improves life, but it can also interfere with our
daily activities. Technology today can be addictive. The typical
smartphone user looks at their device over 100 times every day. We've
reached a point where we occasionally rely more on technology than on
our own creativity.
9. Is the Internet bringing person closer to each other or separating them?

Globally, the internet has had a significant impact on how people connect and

communicate. It makes it possible to share ideas, experiences, cultures, and

backgrounds at a level that is unmatched by anything else. It has been successful in

bringing the world community together and in assisting people from different cultures

in understanding one another. Consequently, it shrinks the world and significantly

knits us together. Looking specifically at a more local level, the internet is making it

possible for people to connect with friends and family and, as a result, is fostering

closer ties within the community. Friendships between people are possible across

continents, cities, and nations. People have access to family members. It has

eliminated the requirement to form mates based on location or a lack of other

possibilities.

People can connect with old acquaintances, make new ones, and maintain

contact online. People opt to converse with others with whom they have common

interests, which in turn fosters the growth of several global sub-communities.

However, a lot of people have stated that despite efforts to connect the world, the

internet is dividing us more than it is uniting us. People are becoming antisocial as a

result of deception, rumors, cyberbullying, spam, people using false identities, and

miscommunication, all of which are on the rise. While there may be a grain of truth to

this idea, it is also important to recognize that lies, rumors, bullying,

miscommunication, etc. have always existed and will continue to do so, even before

the internet was widely used. In addition to disseminating pertinent information, the

internet has now made such information distribution possible in yet another way.
10.Examine the role of technologies in your own life: to what extent you are

dependent on them, can you give up using?

Technology has already given us convenience and efficiency in
our tasks. Technology certainly makes life easier and some wonder if
we are already dependent on technology. And I don’t think that I can
give up using technology since technology helps everyone and not just
me.
11.Think of the things we are losing with technological progress.
Social Skills are one of the things that we are losing with
technological progress. Numerous social cues that we take for granted,
such as body language and facial emotions, could be missing or altered
in the virtual world. Many people who spend a lot of time in front of
screens, especially young people who are in the formative stages of
development, may not fully understand these aspects and hence be
unable to interact with others in real life.

12.Choose one gadget and describe its pros and cons.

Smartphones

Can have Internet access anywhere Some people get addicted

Can have GPS access for navigation More E-waste

13.What technology awareness needs to be given to children nowadays?

The technology awareness that needs to be given to children nowadays are:

 Educating them about cybercrime
According to research, 78% of youth suicides are caused by cybercrime.
To protect them from becoming a target of anyone's joke, inform them,
and maintain their privacy. While sharing any form of media, such as
movies or music, put people at ease.
 Teaching them both benefits and drawbacks of technology
Make sure your kids get enough instruction on how to utilize technology
before you fully turn it over to them. Children may get worried as a result
of severe and rigid parenting, and they may watch unsuitable or age-
inappropriate media.

Therefore, it can be demonstrated that giving kids the right information

about the main attributes of technology, together with its advantages
and disadvantages, is useful.
 Awareness against improper content
There is a lot of knowledge available on the internet for youngsters to
use that offers both positive and negative information. Encouraging
information is available at all times. However, educating kids about
some of the objectionable material that is available online might prevent
them from accessing inaccurate textual and visual information.

14.To what extent technology has changed the way people communicate?

Speed
One of the most significant ways that technology has altered how people
communicate in our world is speed. Messages that once took days to reach recipients
now arrive in their inboxes email in a matter of seconds. Employees can now
concentrate more on crucial aspects of their tasks and less on laborious physical
logistics.

15.Pick up one technological invention (Internet/television/electro

cars/mobile phones, etc.) and describe how it affected people’s lives.

Mobile Phones
Mobile phones are one of the technological inventions that really affect
people’s lives. This invention has a positive effect on our lives by keeping us
connected to our loved ones regardless of distance and also making our lives
easier by shopping online. But at some point, if don’t have the discipline on
how we should use our mobile phones, it will also give us negative effects on
our lives. For example, it can influence our mental health and social
communication. Some users encounter stress, sleep disturbance, and
symptoms of depression, especially young adults. Seeing some posts on social
media regarding their appearance which gives them low self-esteem.
