DETAILS OF SCHOLARSHIP FOR INDIAN STUDENTS BY SAUDI
GOVERNMENT
Basic requirements for admission of non Saudi students in Saudi

universities:
1-Procedures of admission for Non Saudi internal/external students on

scholarship, are the same as they are applicable to Saudi students in the
institutes of higher education.
2- Taking into account the above paragraph (1) admission on scholarship basis,
for overseas students, requires the following:
A. Age of the students should not be less than (17) years and not more than (25)
years at university level and the Institute for Teaching Arabic Language and
similarly not more than (30) years for the MS degree, (35) years for doctorate
however, the Board of Educational Institutes may exempt from this.
B. Consent of the government of the country to which the student belongs for
study in the Kingdom. This condition is for the countries where the same is
required for Saudi students.
C. The student must not be getting any other scholarship in any educational
institute in the Kingdom.
D. The Educational certificates and the supporting documents should be duly

attested by the competent authorities determined by the educational institution.
E. The student must provide a police clearance certificate issued by the

concerned security agency of his country.
F. He should not be one of the students terminated by the educational institute

of the Kingdom.
G. In case of a female student, must be accompanied by her close relatives in

accordance with the guidelines, who would be covered by a scholarship or he
has a residency permit or under sponsorship of one of the employers.
H. The student must have a medical certificate issued by the concerned medical
agency.
I. Recommendation letter for those educational institutes that require it issued by
institutes or personalities determined by the institution.
3- The Board of the Institutes shall lay down the executive rules governing the
admission procedure for scholarship students from inside, taking into account of
the following:
A. The student should obtain approval from the person sponsoring for study in
the institute.
B. The student should be legally residing in the Kingdom.
FEATURES OF SCHOLARSHIP
Overseas students would enjoy the following free facilities as scholarship:
A. Health care facility for him and his family members (If family members
accompanied by him).
B. Two months preparation allowance on arrival.
C. Three months allowance for books
D. Facilities that are enjoyed by his counterparts in the institute
E. Food shall be provided on discounted rate by the institute.
F. Tickets shall be provided by the institute.
G. The educational institute would provide appropriate housing, scientific, social,

cultural and training care.
