StorageTek SL150 Modular Storage Library

• It is recommend that the EIS web pages are checked for the latest version of this
checklist prior to commencing the installation.
• It is assumed that the installation is carried out with the help of the current
EIS-DVD. See EIS web pages for current information and status.
• The idea behind this checklist is to help the installer achieve a "good" installation.
• It is assumed that the installer has attended the appropriate training classes.
• Although use of a laptop and a web browser is not required to achieve a minimal
functioning installation, a laptop with a web browser is highly recommended in
order to access the Web GUI for the SL150 library and should be considered best
practice. Steps in this checklist require it's use.
• This checklist can either be used when installing a new server with storage (in
conjunction with appropriate server checklist) or just ArrayStart when adding a
SL150 storage.
• This checklist refers to the Customer Orientation Checklist.
• If ACSLS (Automated Cartridge System Library Software) is being used with a
SL150 with LTO7 drives a minimum version of ACSLS 8.4 is required.
• If ACSLS (Automated Cartridge System Library Software) is being used with a
SL150 with LTO8 drives a minimum version of ACSLS 8.4.0-3 is required.
• It is not intended that this checklist be handed over to the customer.
• Feedback is welcome – refer to the last page of this checklist.

In contrast to most EIS installation checklists, this checklist assumes that:

• The installer has attended the SL150 Field Service and Frontline Training
(ISTK- 1840).
• The installer has access to Oracle Technical Documentation at:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/documentation/tape-storage-curr-
187744.html#libraries
• That the SL150 Installation Manual is available and referred to during the
installation.
