Project 2
I hope this finds you well. I have created the following messages as a way to effectively share
information with all involved parties. I hope they are to your liking.
The first message that was sent was an email to the entire staff of Newpex Consulting Firm. This
message was sent to inform the staff of a new vacation day policy. The goals for this message
was to ensure all staff had an understanding of the new policy and to strengthen the positivity
surrounding the new policy. I was able to accomplish this goal by being direct about the new
policy and how that would affect each of the current staff members. I feel that this message will
appeal to the audience because I will start off explaining how each staff member deserves and
needs time off to be their best self. I hope to have made each of the staff members feel
company. The goal for this message was to inform the employees of the discontinuation of the
tuition reimbursement policy. I wanted the audience to understand this was a hard decision to
make, but it was something that needed to be done for the sake of the company. I was able to
accomplish those goals by being very direct and transparent with the problems the company
was facing.
The third message that was sent was an email to Ms. Ella Ginsburg, a representative of
SaleSpeed. This email was to inform Ms. Ginsberg of my previous complaint about the
electronic card readers and ask her to issue a refund since the machines did not work properly.
My goal for this email was be courteous, but also get a refund for the products that don’t do
what they said they would do. I wanted to continue building a positive relationship with Ms.
Ginsberg and SaleSpeed in general. I was able to accomplish this goal by making sure the
opening and closing lines were respectful and the rest of the email was neutral. I used logic to
get Ms. Ginsberg to understand where I was coming from as the owner of a business by
explaining what the products were intended for and how they weren’t meeting those
expectations.
Thank you,
Claire Beaver
To: All Newpex Staff
Hello to All,
To begin, I wanted to thank each and every one of you for your hard work and dedication to
Newpex. All of that hard work and dedication deserves to be compensated with paid time off
(PTO). However, HR has indicated that most staff members have accumulated 23 days of PTO.
Since this time is awarded to encourage you all to slow down in order to be the best you can
be, we are revising the company’s current vacation policy. This change is meant to encourage
Our current policy states that employees are able to take paid time off (PTO) based on the
number of years of employment: 5 vacation days for employees with fewer than 3 years of
employment; 10 vacation days for employees with between 3 and 5 years of employment; 15
vacation days for employees with between 5 and 10 years of employment, and 20 vacation
days for employees with more than 10 years of employment. The current policy also allows
employees to rollover vacation days at the end of the year. Further, when employees leave the
firm, they receive a payout for unused vacation days, at a rate of $350/day.
Going into effect immediately, the new policy states that employees with fewer than 10 years
of employment will receive 15 days of vacation per year, and employees with more than 10
years of employment will receive 20 days of vacation per year. The amount of rollover and
payout will also change: employees can rollover a maximum of 5 days per year, and cannot
accumulate more than 25 vacation days total. Employees will no longer earn cash payouts from
unused PTO after January 1. Employees who have currently accumulated vacation days in
excess of the allowed 25 will receive a cash payout for those days; to receive the payout,
employees must submit a request form to the HR office no later than December 15.
We hope that this new policy will encourage you all to take a well-deserved break so that you
Please contact myself or HR with any questions regarding the new policy.
Many Thanks,
Hello to All,

Employees who are currently enrolled and taking courses will be reimbursed for the present

I appreciate you reaching out to inform me of the newer version of the app that includes
improved functionality for tracking sales. While I am interested in this upgraded plan, I do have
I had previously reached out to SaleSpeed’s technical support and customer service regarding
the issue of the card readers being unreliable and it was explained to me that the issue is being
worked on and they hoped to have newer models available for purchase within the next two
months. I spoke with those departments in November and have yet to hear about the
Regretfully, I am requesting a refund for the electronic card readers as they were to allow
customers to pay their check directly to a server on a tablet, rather than having to walk to the
register or wait for the server to process their check and receipt, but due to the card readers
being unreliable it is actually making the process more difficult for our customers.
Your service has been greatly appreciated and I would be grateful if you could please keep me
updated on when the newer models will be available for purchase as I would be interested in
