competent result to achieve competency for this unit. Please read the information below about each task
included in this assessment.

What is competency?
To complete assessment tasks satisfactorily you will need to demonstrate competence – but what does this
mean?
In the Australian vocational education and training system, the concept of competence, is defined as: “The
ability to perform tasks and duties to the standard expected in the workplace”. Competence involves the
application of specific skills, knowledge and attitudes to the work performance in an industry, an industry sector
or an enterprise. Competence is rarely achieved in a one-off demonstration. It needs to be developed holistically
– that is, bringing a range of skills and knowledge together – and over time in a real or simulated workplace. To
achieve competence, you need to demonstrate that you can perform a given task to the standard defined in an
endorsed unit of competency.
Assessment outcomes
Once the assessment has been completed the student will be given the result within 14 days. Once the student
has satisfactorily completed the required assessments for a unit of competency he/she will receive an outcome of
C (Competent) or otherwise NYC (Not Yet Competent) in which case the student is entitled to apply for a
resubmission of the assessment.
Reasonable adjustments
Wherever possible, trainers/assessors will make reasonable adjustments to training and assessment processes to
ensure all people are treated equally in the training and assessment process.
Students who have special needs may be allowed reasonable adjustment at the time of assessment in line with
the Albright Institute’s Policy and Procedures.
To meet the needs of all learners’ adjustments can be made to the way assessments are conducted but not to the
requirements of the assessment. The purpose of these adjustments is to enhance fairness and flexibility so that
the specific needs of students can be met.

It is the responsibility of each assessor to assess students’ needs and make whatever reasonable adjustments are
practicable to maximise a students’ opportunity to demonstrate their competence.
Assessment re-submission
If a student is deemed NYC (not yet competent) the Trainer/Assessor (TRN) will explain why and inform the
student of what needs to be completed in order to demonstrate competence.
Re-assessment for assessments only occurs if the student has previously submitted the assessment or has missed
the relevant session(s) and has been afforded special consideration which is approved by the Administration
department.
If the result for the first submission of an assessment is NYC, students will be given two re-submission
opportunities to achieve a competent result (this re-assessment is conducted free of charge). A suitable time will
be arranged for the reassessment to occur within 14 days of the completion of the unit in question. Should a
student either not make an attempt within this time frame (in spite of all efforts by Albright Institute, its
Trainer/Assessor and administration staff to have the student attend a reassessment session) or the student does
not achieve a satisfactory result after two re-assessments they may be charged for another attempt.
Should the student still not achieve competence after these assessment attempts, it will be necessary for them to
re-enrol in (repeat) the unit of competence at a cost.
Assessment appeals
You can make an appeal about an assessment decision by filling an appeal form. Ask for an appeal for from a
student support officer. Refer to Albright Institute’s Assessment Policy for more information about our appeals
process.
Plagiarism Policy
All student work must be written in their own words, except where acknowledged through quotations and
referencing. Plagiarism is a serious offence; Albright Institute may impose severe penalties on students who
plagiarise.

This task will require you to allocate and communicate roles and responsibilities to at least
two relevant personnel according to the action plan you developed in Workplace Project
Task 2.
Relevant personnel refer to people who have the qualifications that match roles and
responsibilities required for implementation of promotional activities. This can include
promotion officers, brand managers, and social media experts.
To complete this task, you must:
▪ Review the following:
o Partially completed action plan submitted in Workplace Project Task 2 for the
following information:
● At least two roles required
● At least two responsibilities corresponding to each role
● At least one task corresponding to each role
This must correspond with the specific task for each role identified in
Workplace Project Task 2.

This task will require you to implement the action plan that you developed in Workplace
Project Task 2.
To complete this task, you must:

o Allocated roles and responsibilities, and tasks of promotional activities found in
the evidence of allocation submitted in Workplace Project Task 3

This can include policies and procedures for plan implementation and
performance, and implementation protocols.
▪ Implement specific tasks identified in the action plan
Implementation must adhere to the following information specified in the Action Plan:
o Information on how to access and obtain resources required for identified
promotional activities
o Tasks that correspond to identified promotional activities
o Instructions on how to complete each task
o Timeframe to complete each task
▪ Update your action plan based on results of implementation.
This includes the following:
o Actual implementation date of each task

Task 5: Monitor Progress of Action Plan
ASSESSMENT INSTRUCTIONS
This task will require you to monitor progress of your action plan after implementation in
Workplace Project Task 4.
To complete this task, you must:
▪ Review the following:
o Updated action plan submitted in Workplace Project Task 4 for the following
information on each promotional activity:
● Overall timeline
● Expected outcomes
● Actual implementation outcomes
o Workplace policies and procedures relevant to progress monitoring
This can include policy and procedures for monitoring of workplace action plans,
and marketing development procedures.
▪ Monitor progress of the implementation of the action plan in at least two separate
instances
Monitoring refers to the regular checking and tracking of how well the promotional
activity is performing in according to the overall timeline and expected outcomes.
The following information must be evident when monitoring progress:
o Issues that occurred during implementation
This can include equipment breakdowns, incurring of additional costs, and
missed deadlines.
o Progress of each task
This refers to the level of completion of each task (i.e., completed, in progress, or
have yet to start).
After completing the task, submit at least two pieces of evidence of monitoring – one for each
instance of monitoring. This can include:

ASSESSMENT INSTRUCTIONS
This task will require you to identify and address issues encountered during monitoring in
Workplace Project Task 5.
To complete this task, you must:
▪ Review the following:
o Results of monitoring found in evidence submitted in Workplace Project Task 5
o Updated action plan submitted in Workplace Project Task 4 for contingency
strategies of each promotional activity
o Organisational documents or sources of information that include the scope of your
roles and responsibilities, such as
● Your job description
● Staff handbook
● Employment contract
▪ Identify at least two issues that affected implementation based on the information that you
reviewed
Issues can include insufficient resources, equipment breakdown, delays in timeframes and
deadlines. These issues must be within the scope of your responsibilities.
▪ Address these issues by implementing the appropriate action items from the contingency
strategies identified in the action plan
▪ Update the action plan to include the following information:
o Issues that affected implementation of the action plan
o Contingency strategies implemented to address issues
o Actual implementation date of each contingency strategy
o Actual implementation outcomes of each contingency strategy

Task 7: Collect and Analyse Feedback on Planning Promotional Activities
ASSESSMENT INSTRUCTIONS
This task will require you to collect feedback from relevant stakeholders and analyse data of
the results of implementation of promotional activities done in Workplace Project Task 4.
Relevant stakeholders must be the set of stakeholders that were consulted in Workplace Project
Task 1.
To complete this task, you must:
▪ Review the following:
o Updated action plan submitted in Workplace Project Task 6 for the following
information on each promotional activity:
● Expected outcomes of implementation
● Actual outcomes of implementation
● Issues identified and addressed
o Workplace policies and procedures relevant to collecting feedback
This can include feedback policy and procedure, and performance review policy.
o Workplace policies and procedures relevant to reviewing promotional activities
This can include promotional policies and procedures, and policies and procedures
on activity success evaluation.
▪ Collect feedback from at least two relevant stakeholders about the planning of promotional
activities
Method of collecting feedback must adhere to workplace policies and procedures you have
reviewed.
Feedback collected must include the following information:
o Information on completion of tasks
o Areas of improvement in planning promotional activities

▪ Analyse effectiveness of planning processes based on feedback and data
Effectiveness refers to whether or not the actual outcomes align with the expected
outcomes.
Data includes information about promotional activities conducted which includes actual
results based on your review of information gathered during planning, implementation,
and monitoring.
Your analysis must include:
o Identification of specific planning processes done for promotional activities
Planning processes can include:
● Developing schedules for implementation
● Market analysis
● Organisational procedures (e.g., sign off and approvals)
o Comparison of expected and actual outcomes of promotional activities based on
feedback and data collected and information found in the updated action plan
submitted in Workplace Project Task 6
o Evaluation of decisions made during planning in terms of effectiveness in
implementing promotional activities
▪ Identify at least two possible improvements for implementation in future promotional
activities based on your analysis
Possible improvements can include:
o Changes in estimated timeframes
o Additional resources that can be used
o Other roles and responsibilities that can be involved
▪ Update action plan to include the following information:
o Results of evaluation of planning processes
o At least two possible improvements when planning future promotional activities

ASSESSMENT INSTRUCTIONS
This task will require you to review and evaluate implementation of promotional activities by
analysing costs and timelines accruing from benefits incurred. You will also provide feedback
about the performance of promotional activities, including conclusions and recommendations for
future promotional activities to at least two relevant personnel, while being observed by your
assessor.
Relevant personnel must be the personnel to whom learner allocated roles and responsibilities in
Workplace Project Task 3.
Before you start this task, you must:
▪ Review the following:
o Updated action plan submitted in Workplace Project Task 7 for the following
information on each promotional activity:
● Goals and objectives
