Speech choirs are performance groups that recite speeches in union, often
with elements of choreography and costuming to help bring the speech to life.
The purpose of the speech choir is to gain confidence in speaking and
communicating as a group before an audience and to work cooperatively with
one another towards a common goal
(Jennifer) When the English tongue we speak. Why is break not rhymed
with freak? (Razel) Will you tell me why it’s true, We say sew but likewise
few? (Krystel) And the maker of the verse, Cannot rhyme his horse with
worse? (John Xavier) Beard is not the same as heard Cord is different from
word. (Quen Ann) Cow is cow but low is low Shoe is never rhymed with foe.
(All) Think of hose, dose and lose And think of goose and yet with choose Think
of comb, tomb and bomb, doll and roll or home and some. (Mark Jay) Since
pay is rhymed with say Why not paid with said I pray? (Jhon Eric) Think of
blood, food and good. Mould is not pronounced like could. (Johnrey)
Wherefore done, but gone and lone – Is there any reason known? (Gary) To
sum up all, (All) it seems to me Sound and letters don’t agree
After memorizing the lines from the speech and assigned a line from the
speech to our members, we’ve put some choreography that will fit to the
speech and some blending and harmony to make our speech choir more
attractive to ears.
We’ve encounter some minor problems like; memorizing the speech, the
pronunciation of the highlighted/bold words, conflict with the schedules of the
members, and etc. But even we’d encounter the problems aforementioned
above, we still able to perform the activity accordingly.
