Twenty-two student teachers from Monkayo College of Arts, Sciences and Technology were officially deployed to Pasian National High School for their teaching internship. An orientation prepared the students for classroom management and standards. The school head and cooperating teachers welcomed the student teachers as they began their duties. The deployment was successful thanks to support from college administrators, the VP for academic affairs, education dean, and department heads. The experience would allow students to develop lesson planning and classroom skills.

𝐅𝐀𝐑 𝐆𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐄𝐍𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇, 𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐎 𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏𝐈𝐑𝐄 – STs DEPLOYMENT

A total of twenty-two (22) Practice Teachers from the 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 Secondary 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Major in
English, Social Studies and Mathematics of Monkayo College of Arts, Sciences and Technology were
officially deployed to their cooperating school in Pasian National High School as part of their Teaching
Internship.

Furthermore, an orientation was held to prepare the fourth-year Education students for their journey into the
teaching profession. They received important information and advice on how to effectively manage the
classroom environment and the standards of a qualified teacher. The school head of the cooperating
school, Ma’am Jenny O. Derano, together with the Cooperating Teachers optimistically welcomed the
practitioners as they start their duties.

This undertaking event was successful through the unending support and effort of Engr. Sunshine G.
Paulin, PhD, OIC-College Administrator; Dr. Karen Cheyserr B. Makiling, VP for Academic Affairs; Dr. Gary
Lagatiera, Education Dean; program heads of the three (3) department: Sir Eric James Bermoy (Math
Department), Sir Feliceto Lariba (Social Studies Department), and Ma'am Noriefe Garces (English
Department).

May this venture allow the student teachers to develop their ability to master lesson planning, approaches
to learner-centered classroom, to create a good rapport with students and cooperating teacher, and to
maximize knowledge and skills as a student intern.

𝙊𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙖 Student 𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙧!

With the support and guidance of Engr. Sunshine G. Paulin, PhD, OIC-College Administrator; Dr. Karen
Cheyserr B. Makiling, VP for Academic Affairs; Dr. Gary Lagatiera, Education Dean; Ma’am Noriefe Garces
– English Program Head, Sir Feliceto Lariba – Social Studies Program Head and Sir Eric James Bermoy –
Mathematics Program Head, the deployment of Jocel Ohendras Saligumba, a student teacher from the
Bachelor of Secondary Education - Major in English was a success.

The assigned cooperating school, Olaycon Integrated School, headed by Ma’am Annabelle Bucanegra and
Ma’am Ella Mae E. Aroma as her cooperating teacher warmly welcomes her as she begins her teaching
journey.

As a student teacher, she will be engaged in learning experience whereby she will “learn by doing” and “by
reflecting” on the actual classroom emersion. This practice teaching internship will help us practice
teachers gain valuable experience, knowledge, and skills needed to become teachers in the future.
