Question 1 (25 points)

The electric flux density vector inside a long cylindrical shell of inner radius i=0.05 m and outer
radius o=0.1 m is 𝑫 = 3𝒂 µC/m2.
(a) Evaluate the volumetric charge density inside the shell.
(b) Find the total charge inside the shell per unit length.
(c) Calculate the total electric flux out from one meter of the cylindrical shell.

Question 2 (25 points)

A circular ring of radius o =0.02 m and centre at the origin lies in the xz plane and carries a linear
charge density  L=0.01µC/m.

(a) Find the electric field at the point (0,0.3,0) m.


(b) Find the electric field at the point (0, -0.3, 0) m.
(c) What is the electric potential at the point (0, -0.3, 0) m?
