eCommerce - PHP, MYSQL Online Shopping Application - PHP + MySQL

Abstract:

Ecommerce does have unique advantages for business Imagine a shop, a showroom or an
office that is open 24hrs a day, 7 days a week. Proposed eCommerce application is a B2C (business to
consumer) application where consumer can buy the product online. This system can able to handle
the sale of computer hardware parts online. Proposed eCommerce application system is end to end
solution for online sale process includes product updation, dynamic product listing, and search and
add product to shopping cart, calculate price, calculate shipping cost, payment processing, invoice
generation, order tracking, and generation of reports for the management. This eCommerce system
can maintain customer account for frequent buyer, it is not compulsory to create account before
transaction. It keeps record for all transaction done by the customer, however system does not stored
any finical information like credit card number, bank details. All payment processing are done by the
payment gateway.

Scope and Features

 Provides complete web site solution, including shopping cart, product management, customer
management, Logical access management.
 All products are categorized by manufacture, and provide powerful product search facilities;
search can be done by using product name, product description.
 Add multiple product to shopping card, automatic calculate the shipping price, calculate tax
and calculate total amount.
 Can able to store product image with all products.
 Customer can view Order History, Customer one click re-order any prior order, Multiple
billing/shipping addresses per customer (similar to Amazon.com style checkout).
 System must have transactional data, and all the update and delete operation must be
recorded for audit purpose.

Modules:

Product Master, Customer Registration, Vendor, Shopping Cart, Check Out, Calculate
Checkout amount, Search Product by name, product category, Web based site administration, etc.

RAM : 1 GB or Greater.

Limitations of the Software:

This project was developed to fulfill user requirement; however there are lots of scope to
improve the performance of the eCommerce System in the area of user interface, database
performance, and query processing time. Etc.

Future Enhancements:

 Integration with payment gateway like PayPal.


 SMS and Email sending facility for order confirmation
