2023 WOMEN’S MONTH CELEBRATION-WAVE THE PURPLE FLAG

ESSAY WRITING

CONTEST MECHANICS:

1. The contest is open to students of OAGJRNHS.


2. One participant is allowed per section.
3. The piece should be related to this year’s Women’s
Month Celebration theme “WE FOR GENDER EQUALITY AND
INCLUSIVE SOCIETY”.
4. The essay should compose of at least 400 words but not
more than 600 words and should be written in English.
5. The participants will only be given one and a half hour
to finish the essay.
6. The essay will be rated based on the following
criteria:
a. Relevance to the theme (30%)
b. Organization (25%)
c. Mechanics (20%)
d. Coherence and cohesion (25%)

SLOGAN MAKING

CONTEST MECHANICS:

1. The contest is open to students of OAGJRNHS.


2. A team composing of two participants per grade level
(one from each section) will be allowed.
3. The slogan should be related to this year’s Women’s
Month Celebration theme “WE FOR GENDER EQUALITY AND
INCLUSIVE SOCIETY”.
4. It should be written in English composed of 6 to 10
words.
5. Participants will bring their own paintbrushes.
Paint and medium will be provided by the contest
coordinator.
6. The participants will only be given one and a half
hour to finish the slogan.
7. The slogan will be rated based on the following
criteria:
a. Relevance to the theme (30%)
b. Creativity (25%)
c. Originality (30%)
d. Impact and presentation (15%)

MURAL PAINTING

CONTEST MECHANICS:

1. The contest is open to students of OAGJRNHS.


2. A team composing of 6 participants per grade level(3 from
each section) will be allowed.
3. The mural should be related to this year’s Women’s Month
Celebration theme “WE FOR GENDER EQUALITY AND INCLUSIVE
SOCIETY”.
4. Participants will bring their own paintbrushes. Paint
will be provided by the contest coordinator.
5. The participants will only be given three hours to finish
the mural painting.
6. The mural painting will be rated based on the following
criteria:
a. Expression of theme (40%)
b. Artistry, creativity, and vibrancy of the artwork
(40%)
c. Overall presentation (20%)

COOKING CONTEST

CONTEST MECHANICS:

1. The contest is open to parents and students of OAGJRNHS.


2. A team composing of four mothers and four daughters/sons
(two pairs per section) per grade level will be allowed.
3. The team will cook 1 “purple snack” in relation to the
theme color of the Women’s Month Celebration.
4. Participants will bring their own cooking wares and
ingredients.
5. Each grade level will help their participants by
providing fuel and other cooking essentials.
6. The participants will only be given two hours to finish
the purple dish.
7. Student participants will explain the dish to the judges.
8. The dish will be rated based on the following criteria:
a. Nutritive value (15%)
b. Palatability (30%)
c. General appearance (30%)
d. Method of execution (10%)
e. Communication skills (15%)
