2. Information on REACH (Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals)

The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) is the main and official communication tool used along the supply chain to
allow safe use of chemicals. As such, BYK employs this crucial tool to communicate the REACH registration
number(s), where available. In addition, BYK issues a product specific CEFIC Standard Questionnaire (SQ),
for each BYK additive. This guarantees quick and easy access to first-hand information relating to relevant
and individual REACH information.

You can find both the SDS and the CEFIC SQ for each BYK product at www.byk.com

To inform our customers regarding Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC), we provide a half-yearly
SVHC letter. This letter gives an overview concerning which of our products contain SVHC, according to the
latest update of the (draft) ECHA candidate lists, as published on the ECHA-website. Please note that this
information is also available in chapter 15 of the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for each BYK product.

For all other products not contained in our homepage, please contact the BRIEF team under the following
Email address: [email protected]

3. Information concerning intentionally added ingredients

This product does not contain perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) or any component that contains PFOS. This product was
manufactured in a multipurpose plant where some fluorinated products are also manufactured. The raw material suppliers
of these fluorinate starting materials certify that no perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) is used or added during its
manufacture. In fact, these products are based upon a completely different chemistry than that associated with PFOS.

Our raw material suppliers further certify that for their products no perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) is used during its
manufacturing process, but that trace levels of PFOA may, however, form as an unintended by-product during
manufacture.

Our products do not contain any of these substances:

•Hexane, 1,6-diisocyanato-, homopolymer, reaction products with
alphafluoro-omega-2-hydroxyethylpoly(difluoromethylene), alkylbranched alcohols and 1-alkanol
•2-propenoic acid, 2-methyl-, hexadecyl ester, polymers with 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate,
gamma-omega-perfluoro-C10-16-alkyl acrylate and stearyl methacrylate
•2-propenoic acid, 2-methyl-, 2-methylpropyl ester, polymer with butyl 2-propenoate and unsaturated anhydride,
perfluoroalkyl esters, tert-Bu benzenecarboperoxoate-initiated
•Perfluoroalkylhydroxyaminoazetidinium polymer
which are prohibited by Environment Canada

**Please note the difference between 'glycols' and 'glycol ethers'. The former are 1,2-diol compounds, the latter glycols
with a C-O-C-bond. Alkoxylates with hydroxy-compounds with more than 4 carbons are NOT considered glycol ethers.
