1. Package Contents
The TOSHIBA MCU FLASH WRITER contains the following items
● TOSHIBA MCU FLASH WRITER
● USB-to-USB CABLE
● TOSHIBA FLASH WRITER INSTRUCTION MANUAL (Short Form)
● INSTALL CD-ROM
● On-Board CABLE

OFF-BOARD WRITING

1. Install CP210x_Drivers.exe included on the CD-ROM


2. Make a connection between Flash Writer and PC with USB Cable.
3. Turn on Flash Writer and Execute TOSHIBA Flash Programmer.
4. If you want to make a reconnection between two devices,
Click RECONNECT Icon on Flash Programmer and Push the RESET SWITCH on Flash Writer.
Do not pull out the USB Cable when TOSHIBA Flash Programmer is running.

ON-BOARD WRITING

Target Board

1. Install CP210x_Drivers.exe included on the CD-ROM


2. Make a connection among Target Board and Flash Writer and PC with USB Cable.
3. Turn on Flash Writer and Execute TOSHIBA Flash Programmer.
4. If you want to make a reconnection among three devices,
Click RECONNECT Icon on Flash Programmer and Push the RESET SWITCH on Flash Writer.
Do not pull out the USB Cable when TOSHIBA Flash Programmer is running.

2. Software Setup
The following files are included on the CD-ROM
● TOSHIBA Flash Programmer (sw00fn5-zccuvxxx_en.exe)
● Driver installation utility (CP210x_ Drivers.exe)
● TOSHIBA Flash Programmer Manual (Kor,Eng)
● TOSHIBA MCU FLASH WRITER Instruction Manual

2-1. Install Windows Virtual COM Port Driver


To install the Windows Virtual COM Port Driver, run CP210x_Drivers.exe on the CD-ROM
COM Port properties for the device can be selected in the device manager
(COM Port Number, Baud Rate etc.)

2-2. Install TOSHIBA Flash Programmer


To install the TOSHIBA Flash Programmer, run sw00fn5-zccuvxxx_en.exe on the CD-ROM
If you want to know further information about the TOSHIBA Flash Programmer,
Please refer to the TOSHIBA Flash Programmer Manual on the CD-ROM

3. Hardware Setup
The TOSHIBA MCU FLASH WRITER is connected to a PC as shown in Figure 1 and Figure2

OFF-BOARD WRITING

1. Connect one end of the USB cable to a USB Port on the PC


2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to the USB connector on the TOSHIBA MCU FLASH WRITER

ON-BOARD WRITING

1. Connect one end of the USB cable to a USB Port on the PC


2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to the USB connector on the TOSHIBA MCU FLASH WRITER
3. Connect one end of the cable to the connector on the TOSHIBA MCU FLASH WRITER
4. Connect the other end of the cable to the connector on the TARGET BOARD

4-1. Universal Serial Bus (USB) Interface (T1)


A USB Connector is provided to facilitate connections to the USB interface on the FLASH WRITER
See Table 1 for the USB pin definitions.

4-2. On-Board Connector (T2)


A On-Board Connector is provided to connections to the Target Board for On-Board Writing
See Table 2 for the On-Board Connector pin definitions.
