Podar School, Jalna, follows the CBSE curriculum from Std. I to X.


The curriculum is designed and developed to focus on the Learning Outcomes and
Skills. The teachers follow learner-centric lesson plans based on different pedagogies

which incorporate effective strategies like experiential learning, problem solving, and
real life connect in order to have integrated and interactive lessons. The lessons also
use different digital tools, activities, stories, poems, role plays, interdisciplinary
approaches and other stimuli for set induction, instruction methodology and closure
that lead to fruitful and critical thinking among students to enhance their
technological skills and 21st century skills.

The school provides additional resources and coaching to cater to all type of learners-
(VAK) students, enrichment (remediation) and enhancement (high achievement). The
counsellors provide a wide range of support for the SEN students.

One of the highlights of the curriculum for the younger students is ‘Symphonics’ the
phonics programme for Std. I-III, which is based on the international method of
teaching to read, write and spell. It helps students to recognize the sounds of the
alphabet and pronounce them correctly, and to develop strong communication skills.
Another highlight is ‘Power Math’ the mathematics programme for Std. I-III, which is
based on the CPA (Concrete, Pictorial and Abstract) Model. Students perform
activities with the manipulatives to learn mathematics easily.

The school conducts effective Assessments from Std. I to X.


There are no formal examinations for Std. I and II, and students are assessed on a
wide range of activities and worksheets to enhance their skills.
The students of Std. III to V have skill-based assessment in the form of formative and
summative examinations. The summative examinations accurately test their
understanding, and the internal/ formative assessments are based on their creativity
and interest.
The students of Std. VI to VIII follow the CBSE guidelines for formative and
summative examinations.
Robust academic and emotional guidance is given to the students of Std. IX and X,
along with skill-based assessment and evaluation.
The Art Integrated Project is a part of formative assessment and is followed from Std.
I to X.

The educators of Podar School, Jalna, regularly self-evaluate themselves. By


sharing their strengths, analysing their setbacks and prioritizing areas of self-
improvement, the staff is able to plan and implement solutions and trainings in order
to turn flaws into fortes. This is the testimony of their commitment and passion
towards learning and growth.
