Coach-in-training

(CIT)
Expectations and Conduct Agreement
Overview:

Our CIT Program, or Coach-in-Training program is designed for players looking to try their hand at
coaching while earning volunteer hours. Many of our CIT’s have gone on to be full- me coaches,
joining our sta and beyond, including the college level. This program is available for high school
upperclassmen who must ll out the applica on below and upon approval, they will get assigned a
program and Head Coach to shadow. These Program hours would be considered volunteer hours that
can be used for college applica ons, Na onal Honors Society, or any other pla orm requiring
community service hours.

Mission Statement

The CJVA mission is to promote fairness, good sportsmanship, and a learning environment for all
athletes. It’s the Club's responsibility to promote the sport of volleyball and provide a high level of
training and development for our young athletes.

All of the CIT Expecta ons are re ec ve of our mission. As a CIT, you are upheld to a set of standards
and principals that govern sta and CITs to ensure that every member, including youth development,
club team athletes, campers, sta members, etc. will be in a safe, enjoyable atmosphere that will
promote posi ve self-esteem and teamwork.

o CJVA Coaches in Training Conduct:


o All CIT’s will adhere to the dress code: CVJA t-shirt, shorts, spandex, or athle c pants and
sneakers.
o CITs must follow prac ce plan and schedule set up for the program they are assigned.
o No alcohol, tobacco or illegal drugs are allowed on RAC property
o Abusive language and ac ons will not be tolerated. This includes profanity, adult humor
and sexual references. Language, a tude and ac ons must compliment the club’s
philosophy and values at all mes.
o Respect for all sta , club members, and CJVA/RAC property must be upheld at all mes.
o CIT’s must have fun and enjoy their me at the RAC!
