General Instructions
For Computer Typed Assignment
1. Save the answer file with name as Roll number.docx (for Abhas Adhikari file name will be as
3.docx and similarly for others)
2. Make sure the font style and size is uniform throughout the text. Preferred text style is Times New
Roman with font size 12 and text evenly justified between margins.
3. Insert your Full Name and Roll Number either in the Header or Footer Section of the file.
4. Make sure either you copy the question or question number to the individual answers.
5. Drawings (well labelled) required must be drawn with aid of CAD or other programs and shall be
inserted within the text file in appropriate position.
6. Contents if prepared in other programs like excel or others shall be inserted in the main answer
file appropriately.
7. Make sure all the contents are included and serially arranged before sending.
8. Answer file only in .docx format must be send to my email id: [email protected] and make
sure to attach the answer file before sending the email.

For Hand Written Assignment


1. Only those students who are not able to manage computer are allowed to submit hand written
assignment.
2. Write your Full Name and Roll number at top of each pages.
3. Make sure either you copy the question or question number to the individual answers.
4. Take clear and sharp photos of all pages of answer sheet and make sure that texts are readable.
5. Combine all the photos serially to a single pdf or jpg file before sending and name of file should
be as Roll Number.pdf/jpg (for Simon Acharya file name will be as 1.pdf/jpg and similarly for
others)
6. Make sure all the contents are included and serially arranged before sending.
7. Answer file must be send to my email id: [email protected] and make sure to attach the answer
file before sending the email.

Assignment: Engineering Survey-I (CIEG-202) Last Date of Submission: May 10, 2020

Students are required to give their answers in their own words as far as practicable.
Each question carries equal weightage. Any form of plagiarism will be discouraged.
Make rational assumptions where required and contents more elaborative.

1. You as a surveyor how would you ensure to minimize the errors in work during different stages
of surveying operation and also verify whether the works are within the limits. Explain in detail
taking reference of any one particular type of surveying (studied so far) with the help of
appropriate examples, data, drawings etc.

2. Which type of surveying (studied so far) would you recommend to be performed in order to
survey the locality you are currently staying in and why with clear justifications? Explain in
detail how you would perform it and which form of output(s) you will be generating from the
surveying. Incorporate all the necessary data sheet(s) if required for surveying. Make use of
drawings and photographs of locality (taken from roof top) to make your content elaborative.

3. In the current pandemic condition due to COVID-19 where each local level government are
constructing or planning to construct the quarantine zone to avoid community spreading of
virus. In this context you as a civil engineer (surveyor) with limited access to modern surveying
instruments is given a task to prepare a plan and construct well manage quarantine zone in an
open space nearby your locality using temporary shelters like tents or using locally available
materials or prefabricated materials. Prepare a detail work plan (from scratch to its completion)
with necessary drawings. Make appropriate/standard assumptions for capacity, dimensions of
open area & temporary shelter, necessary facilities etc. where required.
