    Course code: Course title: JDOC1006 JD Tort


    Report prepared by: David Kwok Date: 7/6/20

    Most students have demonstrated the ability to conduct legal research and

    produce research papers of good standard. A few students have written

    exceptionally good papers which are of high quality. Not all students have chosen

    to write on a topic that was in the syllabus, but most students did. All students

    have demonstrated a good understanding of the key concepts, as reflected in

    their papers. There is a tendency for students to be too ambitious by trying to

    cover a lot of issues in one single paper. Rather, it is better to focus on a few

    issues and explore them in-depth. A number of students have, in their papers,

    made comparisons between laws of different jurisdictions. It is important to

    realize there is no perfect system. It is way too simplistic to arrive at the

    conclusion, which quite a number of papers did, that one system is behind and

    therefore should follow the developments of the other.
