Infinityfree Web Hosting

How To & WordPress Plugins – Suggested & Tested

Setting up from Nothing:

 Register a FREE Freenom Domain Name: .ga, .gq, .ml, or .tk (or use a paid domain)
 Pre-Point domains name servers to Infinityfree’s name servers.
 Open a new free “account”, 1 of your 3 (Domains are called “accounts”)
 Immediately set PHP to highest version supported in the Infinityfree’s control panel
 Create your wanted/needed sub-domains & parked domains, if any

Allow above to propagate

 Use “Auto” wizard to setup your FREE SSL certificate (ZeroSSL is my pick)

Again, allow above to propagate

 Setup FREE Cloudflare CDN & Custom Email Address & Routing (NOTE: Automatic)
 Also make a FREE Google Cloud Console to create a web app “google api” for Gmail OAUTH (Just in case)

… Again, allow above to propagate

Into WordPress
 Install WordPress CM, via the Softaculous Apps Installer or FTP (I suggest as Multi-Site)
 NOTE: THIS WILL AUTO MAKE/USE YOUR ONLY (ONE of ONE) MySQL DATABASE!
 Keep only newest (2022 currently) “default theme”, for health check (Strip it, as “Site Under Maintenance” page)
 Confirm site is live/working, at least for main domain (From an outside source)

Add 1 Theme & 1 Page Builder (Pick 1 set)

1. Astra free Theme WITH Guttenberg Page Builder / OR / Hello Elementor Theme WITH Elementor Page Builder

15 Tested & Suggested Plugins

Add 5 Plugins for: Cache, CDN handling, HTML+CSS+JS Minifier & Font/Image Optimization

1. Swift Performance Lite Advanced (Use caution optimizing Database = BACKUP FIRST!)
2. Add Super Page Cache for Cloudflare
3. Add Optimole to Preload Images
4. Add OMGF to Preload Fonts
5. Add Unbloater to “remove bloat” (Use caution removing bloat = BACKUP FIRST!)

Add 1 Plugin & a Desktop App for: Backup/Clone/Migrate

1. UpdraftPlus (The free version will work on multi-sites, & with remote storage, I believe)
 Local (Desktop Program) to “Pull” (clone) your webpage from host > edit/test > “Push” updated site to host

Add 5 Plugins for: SEO, Email/SMTP, Forms, & Tables/Charts

1. All In One SEO (Much faster than Yoast)

2. Contact Form 7 / OR / WP Forms Lite (Depending on your needs)
3. Fluent SMTP (Lighter & free’er than WP SMTP Mail)
4. TablePress / OR / Data Tables Generator (Depending on your needs)
5. WEN Skill Charts (Light & free open source, skill bars/circle chart = good for CVs/Portfolios/Resumes)

Add 4 Plugins for: Extras

1. Enable Media Replace (Note: always MANUALLY check for & delete old media)
2. Broken Link Checker
3. Pretty Links
4. My Simple Space (Easy bloat monitoring)
