FOCUS GROUP DISCUSSION OF TLE TEACHERS


March 17, 2023

The focus group discussion started with an opening prayer followed by a nationalistic
song. The Welcome Message reminded the participants about the importance of
collaboration. The agenda was presented, which included LIS updates, DO DAY, learners'
absences, GPP, student teachers, COT, SMEA updates, DTR/locator slip, and other
matters.

The discussion covered several important topics, including updates on LIS, learners'
absences, and bullying instances. Plans for the Gulayan sa Paaralan Project were also
discussed, and cooperation and support were requested. The importance of the GGP
Project and its effect on Brigada Eskwela were emphasized.

Cooperating Teachers were reminded to monitor the tardiness and time management
of student teachers. RPMS and Classroom Observation Indicators were discussed, including
the guidelines for Classroom Observation. Effective teaching strategies to promote learners'
numeracy and literacy skills were presented, and experiences were shared by the teachers.

The discussion ended the scheduling of Classroom Observation thus all the TLE
teachers presented their preferred schedule to craft a new Monitoring Plan. Through this
group discussion we have strived to create a supportive and collaborative environment that
fosters learning and growth. Our teachers also have gained valuable insights and practical
skills that they can apply in their teaching practice.

As we move forward, we are confident that the skills and knowledge that were shared
and acquired through this program will be put into action in the classroom, benefiting both
the teachers and the students.

The focus group discussion opened with an inspiring message from Sir Vicente R.
Medenilla, emphasizing the importance of collaboration. He also discussed the agenda for
the discussion, which covered important topics such as LIS updates, DO Day, learners'
absences, GGP, student teachers, COT, SMEA updates, DTR/locator slip, and other
matters.

During the discussion, Sir Vicente reminded advisers to confirm and report students
at risk of dropping out and to follow the procedures on Home Visitation and remediation
activities. He also announced the conduct of DO DAY, which would focus on the GGP
projects and assignments.

Maam Mabel A. Diaz discussed the Gulayan sa Paaralan Project and requested
cooperation and support from the group. She also reported that the only available seedlings
were petchay and requested for other seeds and seedlings. Sir Vicente reiterated the
importance and effect of the GGP Project.

The discussion also included updates on learners' absences and bullying instances,
and the actions to be taken for each instance for every learner reported. RPMS and
Classroom Observation Indicators were discussed by Maam Carren D. Salen, Master
Teacher I. She discussed the RPMS cycle and phases and presented teaching strategies
that promote learners' achievement in numeracy and literacy.

The discussion ended with the scheduling of Classroom Observation, and TLE
teachers presented their preferred schedule to craft a new Monitoring Plan. Through this
group discussion, we have strived to create a supportive and collaborative environment that
fosters learning and growth.

As a language model, I recognize the significance of this focus group discussion in


improving the quality of education. This discussion highlights the importance of collaboration,
monitoring, and implementing effective teaching strategies to promote students'
achievement in numeracy and literacy skills.
